Was it Hard Rock or Blues Traveler?

I had never heard and seen Blues Traveler in concert before. They blew the roof off the joint! John Popper seldom came up for air.
It was a great show, Blues Traveller sounded great! The venue was pretty good and everyone seemed very friendly and easy going.
Even though we only recognized 5 or six songs from their past and a few cover songs the show was great. They are excellent musicians and even the songs we didnt know sounded good.
Rod Piazza was GREAT, his band was good, very energetic, very good interaction wit the audience. The Thunderbirds music was good but not like when they had Jimmy Vaughn. The drummer looked bored. Blues Traveler was VERY DISAPPOINTING, not "blues" at all but more pop'ish. Dozens of people walked out and left before we finally did halfway through. Whereas for Rod Piazza, they were clapping and dancing in the aisles and even The Thunderbirds seemed to hold the crowd better.
Awesome show. Rod Piazza along with the Fabulous Thunderbirs were awesome, but the Blues Traverler took it away. John and his crew were amazing!
The sound was not great from the front row! Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers were the best! Kim WIlson and the Fabulous Thunderbirds were flawless. Blues Traveler was Blues Traveler.
I found the performance of the group to have been tremendous. Great show.
There is no doubt that John Popper and company are master's of thier mucical craft. They are crisp and tight and have a knack for stringing together structured melody with a free-flowing jazz/blues off the cuff jam session. But after a hr or so, the music goes from masterful to droning and repetitve. It amazing what JP can do on a harmoincia, but he does it in every song...
Playing their new album in its entirety was great. Then tearing into their hits. The were crisp, sharp, and tight. Loved it. Best BT July 4th show in a long time. I have gone every year for the last 11.
Fitz and the Tantrums (opening) did a great job. However, Blues Traveler played their entire newly recorded (not released) songs during the first set. They waited until the second to play any recognizable songs. It was very disappointing.
Great show. Couldn't think of anything else I would have liked to do on July 4th. Can't wait to see them again.
This is the first time I have seen Blues Traveler live on the 4th of July and it did not dissapoint. Great show!
The show was great - we enjoyed the great jamming sessions by Blues Traveler.... and you just can't beat Red Rocks as a venue.
Well...the first half of the show was completely off base...playing their new CD start to finish?...what a load of self indulgent twadle! The second half was much better and John Poppers rendition of the Star Spangled Banner gave the Hendrix version a run for it's money and essentially saved the show. The Crystal Bowersox walk on was another high point. But sadly self indulgence was the theme of the evening with a closing song no one knew, sung with a female vocalist who channeled Yoko Ono! Too bad...great venue with some great moments but overall a pretty mediocre show.
An incredible evening beginning with fitz and the tantrums playing for an hour, really fun band with great energy! Then three hours of blues traveler and they have never been better with the ambiance of red rocks, I will definitely see them again if I can!
The opening act Fitz and the Tantrums were awesome!!! Blues Travelers didn't play enough early songs and jammed way too much.
This show was outstanding! I have seen Blues Traveler many times. Seeing them at Red Rocks was a long time wish. I think I will make this an annual event. I really loved the band bringing in other artists. I loved the artistic expression of the performance! See you next year!
this was my first blues traveler show and they jammed but it was my brother who loved them and his last request was that we, his family were to let his ashes fly at the blues traveler show at red rocks on july fourth, we did and it was very moving and honorig that we could do this for him. we love you Wayne always fly free at red rocks, enjoy the music Bro.
Fritz and the tantrum stole the show, they were amazing. Looking forward to catching them again soon.
