The band was so boring people just sat and talked amongst themselves. Great location, boring band. People left early. You heard one harmonica rift after another. Same thing over and over. The opening band Moe was much better.
They did a good job with the concert. Held true to what they do best. Greatest part of the show were the two 12 yr olds from Seattle and Colorado's own, to play lead guitar. Those kids could rip.
wow what a great show,,,this is what i look forward to every 4th of july !!!! great show !!!
Sooooo sad:-( They opened with a VIDEO! I could've stayed home for that. It's time to change something or find a new job when you can't open your own show.
Red Rocks is an amazing venue, and the view over Denver on the 4th of July was amzing, but everything else was only so-so. The opening act, Moe, would have a better headliner. I will definitely not be going to see Blues Traveler again.
Great pair up- the bands were excellent. They played well and they had very good stage presence. Could see the fireworks, it was amazing. ALL the RR staff I came into contact with was very nice.
john popper was good. fun having little kid come on stage. mellow tunes. but literally, the only song i knew was the janes addiction riff. how about play some old tracks earlier in the set. we left early. it was gorgeous at red rocks, and a good show.
Blues Travelers was a great band, great musicians BUT their music was TOO repetitive. It could have been the same song the entire night as it all sounded the same. They only played a snipit of a song that was recognizable. The crowd left way before the end of the concert. The 13 year old guitar player from Seattle was AMAZING! Unfortunately they only had him play with them for one song! Should have had him play a few more with them. It really livened up the crowd.
No one rocks like BT and they never rock as hard as they do at Red Rocks on the Fourth of July! Thank you John, Brandon, Chan, Tad and Ben, for a stunning show!
I paid a lot of money for this concert and ended up watching some little preteen "guest visit" children. that's ok but then Popper said he was out of time and skipped the best part of the concert. They only played one of their hits! I was very disappointed.
Blues Traveler and Moe at Red Rocks on 4th of July... Need I say more? 4+ hours of jamming and fireworks. Awesome!
The opening act Moe was fun and the crowd was into their act. Once Moe ended, the Blues Traveler set was put up and the break in between the two sets was way too long. There was no reason for the long wait because it was set up within 20 minutes and then nothing happened. Once they took the stage it was not stimulating and the flow was slow. The crowd began to thin out prior to the half way point in the show. I would not recommend this event in the future.
Wasn't the Blues Traveler concert, but it was still good.
It was better in previous years. Maybe they should move one
Never saw them before, don't own nor will I ever buy any of their music. The lead singer was washed out, couldn't carry a tune but that didn't stop him from trying . . OUCH!! M.O.E. opened for them ad they were good. B.T. sucked, we drove 1,000 miles to see our 1st show at Red Rocks in Morrison CO and the venue was unbelievable! Will definitely return there and for B.T. maybe it's time they realize that their time has passed. I know now why I waited 25 years to see them, lack of imagination, most of their music sounded the same. This was NOT blues and it darn sure wasn't Rock n' Roll, it was disappointing!
Being able to see several different firework displays from Red Rocks was awesome, but Blues Traveler was forgettable. After 20 years of playing the 4th of July at Red Rocks, it's time to pass the torch to another band! They played their 2012 album in its entirety and by the end of their performance half the crowd had already left! I feel like if anything, Blues Traveler should of been the opener with Moe. headlining! Even so, I would still recommend any show when it's held at Red Rocks!
Nutshell: elevator music meets screaming harmonica. they played none if their older, good, music.
Honestly, horrendous concert. People were literally streaming out of the place halfway through the show. Started bad and got much worse. The band may want to consider playing songs that people have actually heard of or cares to hear. We suffered through every single atrocious song from their new album. These guys are a joke.
Average show. Good jams, but the songs themselves were slow and and drawn out. Visiting acts and opener, moe, were awesome.
