  • Blue Man Joy!

by Shepherd76 on 7/9/10Astor Place Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Although I had seen Blue Man Group on TV and they have been around for a while, this was the first time I was able to go see them. I'm not sure how the shows are in the other cities of the world, but the one in NYC is a small venue, accommodating about 280 people. Blurring the lines between abstract, performance, and musical art, Blue Man Group incorporates the audience into many of their acts which are all kid friendly, though some fast reading may be required. I loved the audience participation and the curiosity that the Blue Men had with them; it doesn't matter where in the theater you're sitting! Their mute antics were hilarious, cute, and very entertaining. After the show, stick around to take pictures with them and get their signatures!

  • Not quite what I expected

    by Rich458 on 7/9/10Charles Playhouse - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

I've seen the advertisements and for some reason thought it was going to be a bigger production than it was. There were a few fun things but overall I sat in the "poncho" section with a plastic bag on me in 90 degree weather for no reason... not necessary to wear the poncho except maybe the first row or two. They were funny and it was an ok show, but I couldn't stop thinking that it was something I would see at a college campus somewhere. Good for bringing the kids but maybe not a night on the town for two.

  • Something Different!

by Haitham on 7/9/10Charles Playhouse - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

I have been living in Boston area for long time now and have been always thinking of going to this show. I just got the chance to do yesterday! It was fun and nice. It is something different. Honestly, i wouldn't say the best, but it is something new and would recommend it for friends on base of discovering new things. I felt it is silly, but in a funny way if this makes sense. I think some risks involved in the show and I was amazed how they overcome them. Well, it is nice overall.

  • Outstanding!

by Schultzz on 7/8/10Briar Street Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

We took some family members to the show and everyone agreed it was one of the best shows ever. Two of us had seen their show years ago but there was enough changed to keep it fresh.

Blue Man Group is the BEST!! You have to sit in the poncho section to get the full effect. Watching them communicate with their eyes and body language is incredible. It was worth getting puked on! Second show I've seen...hope I see it again.

  • Definintely worth it!

by kpcdc on 7/8/10Astor Place Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

We knew nothing about the Blue Men until the day before we went, and I was a bit uncertain about spending so much money on an unknown. It was great- the music was amazing and the skits hilarious. Who knew that you could convey so much expression without actually using facial expressions?! Everybody in our group loved it (though I wouldn't take a very small child- it might be overwhelming for them), especially the 2 15 year olds who had not been very keen on the idea. In fact, I would put this on a 'fail-safe' option for teens. The audience participation was so enthusiastic- which definitely adds to the fun- that I suspect for many people this was not their first time!

Took my daughter and grand son. I saw it when it first opened and its still a winner. Updated nicely. See it.

  • Seating sucks

by Anonymous on 7/8/10Astor Place Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Show was a lot of fun. Cons: The website FAQ states that very little of the show requires to know the English language. That is not true, there's a number of sketches that require you to be able to read English text on posters and signs. Bummer if you bring somebody along with only beginner-level english. But worse, the seating in the Astor Place theater is atrocious. Anyone taller than 6ft will suffer and not forget the experience.

  • A unique experience

  • Blue Man Group Astounds again!!

    by Moby4 on 7/7/10Briar Street Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The July 5th Blue Man Group performance at Briar St. Theatre was unforgettable. There were several skits we hadn't seen before on their Mega Star DVD. The finale was handled differently than the ones we'd seen on film, even better! A wonderful venue, a fantastic show! I recommend sitting in the poncho rows to keep you on the edge of your seats.

  • Blue Man Group does not disappoint

by CaptJackHarkness on 7/7/10Astor Place Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

A great time for the whole family! If you are in the poncho seats be prepared... they give you ponchos for a reason. :)

  • I really enjoyed Blue Man Group!

by mandaxleslie on 7/6/10Charles Playhouse - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I loved this show and so did my husband.. its fun and interactive! I over heard some people saying that the show was really weird which I can understand. The first thing they do when they come out is stare at you their wide eyes, which is creepy! If you have a sense of humor and think you can see the fun behind this, you will love it as much as I did. I got mashed banana all over me! ( I'm not going to tell you how, GO SEE IT!)
