Not what I expected - in a good way

by MGZ on 12/21/21Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

There is no exact way to describe this show except entertaining. I had thought it was going to be more of a concert type show - but there was really a lot more to it than that. There was a lot of audience interaction and participation, there was drumming on all kinds of things... paint drums, pipes... still more to it. My son laughed the entire time which is great to see. This is a good family activity where everyone gets involved. I would definitely go see it again.

    Great show..consistently!

by DocJohn on 12/21/21Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

This was my 3rd time seeing "Blue Man Group" in 25 years, and the show never fails to be engaging, creative and hilarious. I love that they work in new stuff, but still do some of the old tried-and-true routines too. Also, security/staff were enforcing appropriate use of masking, which I greatly appreciate; screening for vax status was outside the front door, and was rigorous. Again: appreciated! Makes it possible to still enjoy a show line this even in the Age of COVID!

by Sue on 12/21/21Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

It started out great our son dropped us off we went to door and the people said couldn’t get in yet. Oh we said ok then they seen my husband with a walker and let us go in and brought us chairs to sit in. Nice friendly people through the whole show. The show was so much fun! My husband and I laughed so hard!! We needed this for sure. Our son bought us tickets for Christmas.

    Some stunts were disgustingly gross.

by J. B. on 12/20/21Astor Place Theatre - New York

Marshmallow and esophagus stunts were disgustingly gross like a Gallagher show. Glad I did not invite my elderly parents to join me. Band members were quite musically talented. They should stick to that.

    Entertaining, worth the admission price!

by Alf on 12/19/21Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

All in all, it was very entertaining and the comedy, combined with music and ambiance is worth the admission price! The Chicago show isn't as "flashy" as some other locations such as NY or Vegas, but it's also cheaper tickets with much of the fun!

    Amazing!

by Sj on 12/18/21Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

The show was never ending fun. Fast paced, action, music, art, laughter, dancing, overall just a great time from start to finish. 2nd time we visited and it was just as exciting 10+ years later.

Third time in 30+ years to see the show

by Capt Mike on 12/17/21Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

First time in NYC 30 plus years ago was by far the best and a very different show. Second time 8 years ago Las Vegas first row, great down, different than NYC. This time Chicago. Got there an hour early and got into the very limited parking next to the theater $17. Was glad we were early!! Seating row AA CENTER. 6 inches from the stage. Was the same show basically as Las Vegas but was new to wife. Free poncho first two rows so well protected from paint, water, marshmallows and Capt Crunch. All and all a great show again. Hope to see them in a couple years with grandsons. Hoping they can come up with some new material but if not will still be new to grandkids. Good show for the entire family.

    Second time around

by Helene from Montreal on 12/7/21Astor Place Theatre - New York

Always an entertaining show! It’s a universal show that would pleased everyone, from young to old, from conservative to more liberals! It’s truly an experience in itself and I’m glad I had the chance to see them a second time, ten years appart, and on they’re 30th! It’s THE show I tell my friends that is a “sure bet” while visiting NYC! I love their humor, the technology, the edginess ! A MUST SEE at least once in your lifetime! I’ve seen them twice at the Astor Theater…. Where I really love the intimate setting, but I would like to see them in a bigger setting, next time to see how they take advantage of a bigger space too!

Fun, but not as much as it used to be

by Gurnee Paul on 12/7/21Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

I saw BMG at Brier St in Chicago 2 years ago. Much more energized music, much more fun, wider variety of stunts and effects. The audience participation is a waste of time in my opinion.

    Pathetic

by Jim Raynor on 12/6/21Astor Place Theatre - New York

Show for low IQ person. Very very weak, filled with filler of nonsenses. Music was so so, but it was done by the group, not the blue man show.

    Great show!

by RS on 12/2/21Briar Street Theatre - Chicago

Very entertaining and funny. Even the wait before the actual performance started was so much fun! They kept us all entertained from the moment we entered the auditorium. The endoscopy act was a little disturbing, but overall, I had a great time. Thank you!
