  • Huntington, W

by DJC on 12/5/22Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

We generally see the Banff( the BFF, as I call it:) at p laces close to our Louisville Ky home, dreaming of being in Banff to see it there! This time Huntington was near and so we made a trip there overnight( holiday activities impinging on a longer stay). The Keith Albee Arts Ctr is in a beautiful old theatre there. The films were wonderful as always. We esp. enjoyed the Hawaii one, as we had recently made a trip there for our 54th anniversary, making it our 49th state to visit( plus adding a few National Parks to our record). Honestly ALL were amazing. We live in a wonderful world and encourage all readers to see as much as they are able for as long as possible! And SUPPORT my BFF in any way you can!

  • Venue was great but the selections were lacking.

If you like human interest stories that's what you got. Wasn't nearly as action-packed, adventuresome and exciting as Banffs in the past.

We had a great time. This was our first experience attending the film festival and it exceeded our expectations with the imagery, music, and thrilling adventures.

  • Love these films

by JoGo on 3/12/22Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Repeat viewer! I gave tickets as presents because I liked it some much last year. I am not a skier or climber but I can enjoy the efforts of others and their experiences. Many of these films give inspiration to go and try something new or try what I’ve wanted to try. They also inspire me to do my best, not give up, and just try. Much better than regret down the road for not trying.

I have always enjoyed the BMFF and look forward to every year when it comes to town (Knoxville, Tn). Great films on the world I love.

Always an energetic atmosphere, and breathtaking cinematography! Puts things in perspective for me. A wonderful way to gain fulfillment and satisfaction every year.

First you must understand that this runs for 2 nights but are COMPLETELY different shows. You will see more adventures packed into these 2 nights then you can possibly imagine. The filming is always fantastic and even if you are a couch potato you will enjoy every moment.just wow! Do not miss Banff Film Festival if ever given the opportunity

  • Banff Mountain Film Festival

by GP on 9/28/21Avalon Theatre - Grand JunctionRating: 3 out of 5

We have been to several of these, both the mountain film festival and radical reels over the years and this was the dullest group as a whole we have ever seen. The projectionist had the volume set too low. The venue itself was very nice and comfortable. We have never been to a showing that was not sold out and this one was around 2/3rds capacity, and maybe the ongoing pandemic had something to do with it. Looking forward to the February radical reels, but this one left us wanting more.

Amazing experience watching a variety of inspiring films. Makes me want to take skiing, climbing and running to the next level! So many bada$$es featured!!

  • Amazing!

This was so inspiring and made me want to get out into the wilderness. It also opened my eyes to the negative impacts people have on the outdoors.

  • Not as good as previous years

by Kris on 3/3/20Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

I have been to the film festival for the past few years, and I always enjoy myself. This year, the Saturday night films weren’t quite as good as they usually are, so that was a little disappointing. In addition in years past, the booths that were outside at the event between intermission etc. have always been very good. This year there were hardly any booths, and that was also disappointing as well. Lastly, while I love the Paramount theater, the money that they charge for drinks is insane! We paid $40 for two approx 9 ounce glasses of wine… That is ridiculous.

  • Great film

Thoroughly enjoyed the films especially with finally using the close captioning!

  • Rocked me 3rd year in a row

    by Afriend007 on 3/2/20Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

The film shorts themselves solidly delivered the usual inspirational and jaw-dropping adventure. Banff's Michelle was new and a bit nervous (in a cute way) last year, but definitely has it down now - nice MC. Venue is comfortable. The only negative is the ridiculous bathroom lines which is a desperate situation and can take the entire intermission or longer. If you don't know to get ahead of the crowd, you may miss the intermission prize drawing, a film, or the rest of it if you can't hold it! Yikes! I literally watched the end of a film at the top door at intermission, r-a-n to the bathroom, went quickly and the line was all the way up the stairs already. It's enough to make someone not want to return. Seriously, there's no way to add a row of 8-10 port-o-potties somewhere on the side or even in the west alley just for event intermissions?

  • BANFF review

by Chel on 2/25/20Avalon Theatre - Grand JunctionRating: 2 out of 5

I look forward to going to this event every year, and rave to everyone I know about it. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in it this year. Where were the aw inspiring views and stories. Not even an animal story this year! BANFF needs to step it up just a little for next year.

  • Disappointing

by Jb on 2/25/20Avalon Theatre - Grand JunctionRating: 2 out of 5

Lackluster schedule in Saturday. Not enough adrenaline. One feature way too long (45 min.), “Life of Pie” and “Danny Day Care” were already shown here at the Mountain Film Festival a couple of months ago. Feature on bouldering was excellent, the rest...eh.
