About

Almost four years after his first foray into unfamiliar concert territory with his highly-acclaimed Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour, "Weird Al" Yankovic is pressing his luck again, this time with The Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour. The tour marks Weird Al's long-anticipated return to the concert stage after his hugely successful Strings Attached Tour in 2019 where he performed each night alongside a full symphony orchestra.

Once again drawing from his back catalogue of 14 studio albums, Weird Al promises to deliver a different set list every night, with no two shows the same. As before, rather than focusing on the hits from his career, the show will feature Yankovic's non-parody material - the somewhat more obscure pastiches and original songs that have largely escaped the pop culture radar but are adored by his long-time fans. And like the last Vanity Tour, he is leaving behind the high-octane theatrics that he's known for and going bare-bones - no costumes, no props, no video screens… just Al and his band of almost four decades in smaller, more intimate venues, hanging out on stage, playing music.

"Weird Al" Yankovic is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist of all time. A five-time Grammy winner, his 2014 release Mandatory Fun was the first comedy album in history to debut at #1 on Billboard's Top 200. He is one of only five artists to have had Top 40 singles in each of the last four decades, the other four being Michael Jackson, Madonna, U2, and Kenny G. On August 27, 2018 the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce awarded Weird Al with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

    Lots of fun

by BobG p on 10/29/22Carnegie Music Hall of Oakland - Pittsburgh

I bought tickets hoping that my 14 year old son would get a few laughs from Weird Al. Got that and more. Played all original songs, and played a medley of his parody songs at the end of the show. We even saw Weird Al take a guitar solo! Emo Phillips was a great opener. I’d definitely go see him again. Lots of fun!

    Great once it got started

by cmphantom on 10/26/22Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

We loved Weird Al and his band! They always do a great show. This was a good one for us since we've already seen his regular tour with the parodies. We enjoyed hearing some of his original music live. The lights and effects were also fantastic and added excitement to the show. There was a LONG wait to get things started because of some seating issues. It seemed to me that 10 people sitting in spots that the tour managers didn't like shouldn't have delayed the performance by 30 minutes. The venue and the tour needed to work together much better and faster.

    A weird funny legend!!!

by bhollick25 on 10/26/22Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

Weird Al performed a lot of amazing acts and shared many great stories as he interacted with the crowd. He’s a cool wacko dude!

    For Weird Al fans!

by Bill A. on 10/26/22Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

First of all, I'd say that adding the great Emo Phillips as an opening act was fantastic! I think one has to be a hard-core Weird Al fan to enjoy his show. Some of the words were hard to understand. Unfortunately I was sitting behind a tall guy with a Weird Al hat and I had to keep moving my own head back and forth to see. All in all I liked it but not as much as his well-known parody songs.

    Amazing show!

by LC on 10/26/22Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

The show was amazing. As it was clearly advertised, Weird Al did not perform much of his known work however, the show was still phenomenal. Have been a Weird Al fan since the 80’s

I could not attend. Was not allowed to sell ticket.

by Jason Moore on 10/26/22Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

I could not attend because of a family emergency and the promoter did not allow me to sell my ticket. Total $105 waisted when someone else could have enjoyed my seat.

    Disappointed.

by Jaime B on 10/26/22Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

He sounded good. However. Weird Al is known for his amazing parodies. And not playing them was incredibly disappointing.

    Amazing as always.

Weird Al Yankovic never fails to amaze. The venue was awesome for a concert. It was well executed and the VIP package was worth it!

Fan but not a diehard fan

by Funnygrlga on 10/24/22Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

I have seen Weird Al before and have loved his shows. That being said, I appreciate his original work, but know the parodies. My fault for not reading that the show was original work only! Of course, I’m not sure that was advertised when I purchased the tickets in December 2021. My husband and teen boys loved it and had a great time. They knew all of the songs. I wish the acoustics were clearer so I could understand the words more clearly.

    Amazing

by Jordan Smeef on 10/24/22Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Weird Al has been in my life since I was a child, and this was my first time being able to see him live. It was everything I hoped for and I will definitely be seeing him again if/when he comes to Atl again.

    Wonderful! Amazing Concert!

by Northfoggy on 10/24/22Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Al was magnificent! I know a lot of people might be scared by the "no hits" rule at this show, but trust me: it's great. Al is an amazing musician, and his band is from another world. A+++++

    Fantastic Show

    by J. A. on 10/21/22

Great concert! Al and the gang crushed it with a set list of nothing but his original songs.

    Terrible Tour

    by gthepest20 on 10/19/22

Weird Al performed songs no one has heard before. He warned us at the beginning of the show that he wasn't going to perform any of his popular songs, which is fine. But that warning should come beforehand, not after fans have purchased tickets and at the venue. I never walked out of a concert and I walked out an hour into it. If you're looking for Weird Al to perform his greatest hits, this concert isn't it.

    Don’t Miss This!

by Jac on 10/18/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

This show was such a gem. I had missed the Vanity tour the first time around (they didn’t come to my town ) and I was SO happy they came this year! I’ve been listening and seeing Al live since I was 6 years old and finally seeing the deep cuts in person was a TREAT. My biggest complaint is that the show was short! Come on! Two (plus) hours of songs? I had all night, ya know! My biggest regret? Not being able to see the back to back shows! Thanks, Al, for letting me hear Velvet Elvis live!

    A blast

by Jason C on 10/17/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

My group of people had so much fun at this concert. It was really great to hear Al play a lot of his self written tracks, which I have loved for many many years. As always, Weird Al has put a giant smile on my face that has lasted for days.

    Fun evening

by Becky on 10/17/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Super fun experience and loved the new arrangements of his original songs. Weird Al still brings the fun and silliness, and the band was absolutely excellent. If you love Weird Al, you should see this show. Being able to hear the originals as opposed to all covers was actually really fantastic.

    Funny Show

by Tina on 10/17/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

The only reason that I am not giving 5 stars is because Weird Al and his band sat down through the whole performance. I felt that was strange. Like they weren't bringing their A game. He is definitely a funny and talented man and his band is very good also. I did enjoy his show. Also, I did not really enjoy Emo.
