John Mayer is a man of contradictions. He’s an international pop star, but also an authentic bluesman endorsed by some of the genre’s biggest legends (B.B. King, Eric Clapton). He's famous for dating some of the entertainment industry's most beautiful women, but dislikes the red carpet and lives on a ranch in Montana. Mayer is known for his hushed-acoustic sound, but has collaborated with hip-hop giants Kanye West, Common, and Frank Ocean. Among the contradictions, however, exists a through line: Mayer’s prowess as a singer-songwriter and guitarist has remained a constant, earning him 7 Grammys and over 20 million album sales worldwide. After a series of granuloma-related throat surgeries forced him to take a complete vocal break in 2012, Mayer is fully recovered and back on tour in 2013 – fans can catch him LIVE in concert in support of his sixth studio album Paradise Valley, named after the site of his new Montana home.
Born and raised in Connecticut, Mayer took up the guitar at 13, inspired by the music of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Michael J. Fox’s epic guitar performance as Marty McFly in Back to the Future. After briefly attending Boston’s Berklee College of Music, Mayer dropped out to pursue his passion, and quickly attracted the attention of label execs with a March 2000 appearance at South By Southwest. His official 2001 debut Room For Squares went multi-platinum, and earned him his first Grammy – Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for “Your Body Is a Wonderland.” Mayer followed up in 2003 with Heavier Things, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and earned him two more Grammys, including Song of the Year for “Daughters.” 2006’s Continuum, Mayer’s third album, highlighted his blues sensibilities and landed him another Grammy, this time for Best Pop Vocal Album.
Dead & Company’s summer tour runs from May 31st to July 6th.

This felt like an intimate gathering of friends. JM put on an incredible show that I will remember for the rest of my life!
John Myer is the best ever and he's always great live. I cried the whole time. I HATE the Forum though.
Having JM’s lyrics posted on pillars outside the venue was so cool. Fun to take pictures in front of them.
I had the greatest night of my life on Friday. That’s not really saying much since I haven’t lived very long yet but still. He is such an amazing artist and you can really tell his love for music through the way her plays and expresses himself. I have been listening to him for a very long time but seeing him in person was truly amazing. I am hoping he will go on tour again soon so I can experience it all over again. Truly an amazing experience and I would highly recommend checking out his music!
John Mayer is one of the best artists. His shows are so unique. Every time I attend a concert of his I want more.
John Mayer was awesome and I would definitely see him again. He performed alone, just him and his instruments. He is incredibly talented and his voice is beautiful. He spoke to the audience and made us feel like we were just hanging out with him. I definitely recommend his show.
Hands down the best concert I've ever been to! I've been a fan of John Mayer since day one and have seen him multiple times, so I knew his sound quality would be impeccable. His ability to entertain a full venue for 2hrs by himself, speaks volumes to his talent. I hope the concert was recorded because it would make a great live album:)
Someone called me financially irresponsible because I spent $2,000 on tickets, but this show was well worth seeing up close along side my friend that introduced me to his music. I don’t make a lot of money but I seen Mayer a handful of times in the nosebleeds but always wondered what it would like to be close up and now I know. AMAZING show ZERO buyer’s remorse and hopefully I can see him again soon.
We paid $80 for general parking, which wasn't even in the Kia Forum parking lot. Leaving the parking lot was an absolute nightmare. No one was present at the parking lot to help the cars leave; everyone was going randomly towards the exit, which only had one lane for exiting. It took almost two hours to leave the parking lot. Very disappointed with the Kia Forum venue.
It’s was very entertaining and great performance! I did not get my VIP package goods that I paid for. Not sure if there is anyway I can get that mailed to me. Thank you!
There is no denying John's skill with a guitar. So him solo on stage with a guitar I knew it would be an amazing show, and I was correct. And the variety of songs played made my heart happy. So many old favorites, new favorites, and some gems I've forgotten to listen to in the past few years. I pulled out my older cd's after the show to meet with those old friends again
John turned a concert into an immersive experience. One of a kind.
This was the ultimate John Mayer show... just John and his guitar playing every song you could ever want to hear from him. If you take a moment to sit and take it all in while you're there I promise you will get emotional. 10/10 would recommend and wish I could go back to this show over and over.
Felt like hanging with John in his living room and just enjoying the classics. Lucky to enjoy the voice and lyrics of a true artist
John went out there and displayed his musical genius! It was a truly different concert going experience as he went out there totally acoustic. His interactions with the crowd were engaging and heartfelt. Loved it!
John Mayer is such an incredible talent. How many musicians could spend over 2 hours on stage with no background band or singers. He puts on a great show! He is personable, reaches out to his audience and is appreciative of their support. His voice is still remarkable not to mention his guitar, piano and even harmonica talent. He is a force to be reckoned with. This musician will be around for a very long time as he deserves to be. He has grown and matured in every way and it was a fabulous night of music. I am sorry his SOLO tour is over as I would see it again.
I absolutely love John Mayer and I was super excited for this show! He did not disappoint! The arena was perfectly sized and the audience was wonderful!
This was the concert I was hoping for. I've attended a John Mayer concert a few years back and I didn't like it, it felt overproduced and didn't showcase John. This concert was very different because it was just him and felt "intimate"even though we were in a large venue. If you have never seen him live, he is an AMAZING talent to witness. He is a virtuoso on the guitar, along with his vocal talent, and then on top of that he now plays the piano, harmonica, and WHISTLES. I should have counted how many times I said "wow"to myself, he is really a talent you need to see "live"and in-person. He is a "must see"in my opinion.
The concert was one of my absolute favorites. The Forum parking signs we confusing and unclear and the parking attendants directed us to the wrong place. Hated the venue parking experience but John Mayer was exceptional
John Mayer has hit it out of the park once again! An incredible concert! He is so incredibly talented, can’t wait for his next one!!!!
