About

Hadestown On Tour

COME SEE HOW THE WORLD COULD BE.

Welcome to Hadestown, where a song can change your fate. Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, this acclaimed new show by celebrated singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) is a love story for today... and always.

Hadestown intertwines two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell's beguiling melodies and Chavkin's poetic imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, dancers and singers, Hadestownis a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go.

by Julie on 4/6/24Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

I was in a trance from the moment it started to the moment it ended. I’m still singing the little song in my head. La la la la la! The cast was amazing everything just fit together like a glove and bread what I thought of in my head to life on the stage I want to see it again and again

    Fantastic

by KR on 4/5/24Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

My wife and I previously attended this play on broadway and I didn’t know how it would feel in a bigger facility…..it was excellent and the cast was as good as the broadway cast.

    So fun!

by S Booker on 4/3/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Everyone was great! Amaya Braganza as Eurydice has a phenomenal presence and voice. John Krause as Orpheus was endearing and sincere. Will Mann as Hermes was captivating from the beginning. Lana Gordon as Persephone was spicy and high-spirited. Everyone in the orchestra, especially Emily Fredrickson on the trombone, was up to a very high quality level of play. Would highly recommend this tragi-comedy to anyone who is just looking to have a good time and be entertained.

    Great Show!

by JackieD on 4/3/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

This may not be for everyone, but if you like a little jazz, a little folk, a little greek mythology and a TRUE musical, not some knock off of a movie, Hadestown is for you!

    An INCREDIBLE performance!

by Kayla A. on 4/2/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

By some miracle, I managed to snag front row seats to this show and it was so, so worth it. The cast was on fire, and being so close to the stage, I felt each of their emotions (joy, grief, sorrow, rage) as if they were my own. I am already looking forward to the next time Hadestown is in my area - an old song we'll sing again, indeed!

Amazing show, but slight audio issues

by Lily on 4/2/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

The show was amazing and well done, the only real issue both my partner and i noticed is that persephone’s mic was turned up too much and the increase in volume made her difficult to understand.

A Musical of Myth and Legend

by Aspen on 3/30/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Hadestown has been one of my favorite musicals since its official Broadway album release in 2019. For the first time since that time, I was able to see the show live and with all that build up overtime, it surpassed expectations. The acting, the singing, the music, the set, the lights; everything was more amazing than I could have ever hope for. It is like the gods themselves stepped onto stage for this performance, telling their story of gods and men.

    Better than I expected

by KwiltMomJBP on 3/30/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

When I went to see the show, I was expecting to have an "ok"time. Wow, was I surprised. It was great! The cast was just fantastic! I could not have asked for a more delightful evening!

    Hadestown at Chrysler Hall

by Bill on 3/30/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Entertaining show, well acted and sung, but it can’t overcome the lousy acoustics in Chrysler Hall that rendered lots of the lyrics unintelligible. Let’s all hope that the big rehab of Chrysler Hall finally fixes the acoustics!

Amazing show! We had no idea what we were gonna experience. We were blown away! Plot, characters, vocals, staging, live band were all fantastic! A Greek tragedy with modern twists. Must see B’way show!

    Amazing!

by LB on 3/28/24BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

My friend and I decided to see Hadestown without knowing much about it. We absolutely loved the whole production. It had a clever set, interesting music, and a talented, diverse cast. I will definitely be seeing it again!

Absolutely beautiful, an old tale that never gets old

by Alaina H on 3/28/24BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

I’ve been wanting to see this show for a while and finally was able to see it. Being a music kid made the show so much more magical and amazing for me. We both loved it! The music was tear jerking in some parts, had bits of humor, and overall told the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice very well. My favorite will always be Hades and Persephone <3

I've been familiar with this musical for a while, and finally seeing it live was everything I've ever dreamed! The cast gave their all for each and every song, and the band was phenomenal! If you are interested in Greek mythology, or beautiful folk-jazz music, or just a compelling & moving story about love, GO SEE IT! Add it to your bucket list :)

Loved the play! The music and the lighting was amazing. The story and the acting was spot on. The New Orleans vibes were spot on! I wish the dance had been tighter.

    Journey through Hadestown

by Jack!! on 3/26/24BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

This was an amazing show. The audience is just on the edge of their seat fully entrenched in what is happening. The cast is very small, the band is on stage, and the stage stays the same. It is such an intimate setting. My seats were up in the mezzanine and pretty far back, but that didn’t keep me from being involved in the raw emotion of the intimacy going on. Wonderful experience
