About

HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now.  Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

    Super show!

by CM on 5/1/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Hamilton was awesome and the crowd was really into it which made it really fun. Most of the cast were very easy to understand while rapping - it just took a bit to get your ear attuned to it. Everyone’s acting was spot on - and Hamilton, George Washington and the main female characters were stupendous. Really enjoyable - would see it again!

    Amazing, Sir!

by M. Lehman on 5/1/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I was worried that I would not enjoy it as much as the original cast on Broadway. The Touring team did NOT disappoint! They did an outstanding job and I enjoyed myself thoroughly! It was definitelly worth the travel to go see it! I want to go again!

    Overwhelmed

by Bba on 5/1/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Obviously amazing. Group in center row K, L. Lead Hamilton was not loud enough to be clearly heard (soft) over music in first half. In spite super fast rap most could be understood. Washington’s lines rarely could be understood. Sad. But what a voice!! Cast, costumes, lighting, sets, CHORUS, all amazing!! Wow! The King- perfect!! Music, story perfectly matched. Loved!

    Great show, lackluster performance.

by MNMD on 5/1/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

The show itself is truly amazing with outstanding performances by some of the leads particularly George Washington, Angelica and Mariah Reynolds. I’ve seen the show 3 other times and was disappointed in the chorus and their imprecise, perfunctory performance. The energy and impressive precision of them is typically what impresses me most about the show and usually enhances the lead characters. It felt like they were uninspired and the intensity was missing from their performance.

    Seats not what I reserved

by Just curious on 4/30/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I was in a different section than I reserved. Ended up in the last row and I know that is not what I had chosen.

    I enjoyed the play

by Wagon master on 4/30/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I really enjoyed the play. The dancing was great. We sat in balcony 6. I was in a group of 5. We all had a very difficult time understanding the words of the songs. Which made it difficult to understand the story. 3 of my friends said they would not come again.

    Fantastic and moving!

by Hoosier1 on 4/30/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Having listened to the original soundtrack several times and watching the original cast on Disney+, I worried I’d be underwhelmed as I have with other shows whose original casts I was so familiar with but Hamilton delivered. Dare I think the touring Eliza impressed me more than the original? The king’s additional facial expressions and comedic pauses kept the role as a favorite of mine, as I’d also worried about its translation to another actor. Highly recommend!

    Hamilton - bucket list item

by Teri Nelson on 4/30/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

This performance was everything and more. I loved every single second and hated when it was over. The cast was stellar, my only complaint was late arrivals. The ushers did everything they could and I applaud and appreciate them. Another petty complaint- people in the middle who need to leave in the middle of the performance - how rude to those around you and the cast. Would I see Hamilton again? In a heartbeat, will attend others? Absolutely!

    Get over the gendered bathrooms

by Als on 4/30/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Opening night. We did arrive way later than we anticipated, 7:15. However, the line to get in to the theatre was still wrapped around the parking lot. Almost made it to the actual theatre before they closed the doors. Watched the opening from a monitor. Some people flipped but the employees handled it quite well. This venue is absolutely gorgeous, historic. I love it. A tight 15 minute intermission with gender bathrooms is archaic. Seriously, get over that. Performance was incredible. The Murat(Old National Center) needs to get with 2023.

    A Special Evening

by History Buff on 4/29/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Orpheum immersed in Hamilton. As a retired teacher, I was amazed at the way this production told the history of a pivotal figure in America’s founding. I would have loved to have this available when I was teaching American History about the founding of our country. The only negative of the evening was that the seats were a little uncomfortable and they have to figure out something so that female guests have a better experience using the restrooms.

    Hamilton Great…Venue Meh

by BRenee on 4/29/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

I loved every part of Hamilton. The best broadway show I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend anyone to see it. However the Old National Center is less than to be desired. The lack of bathrooms and the amount of time between intermission is horrible. Seats are uncomfortable with horrible leg room. But the views are amazing.
