    More Crowded

by El on 11/8/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

It was fun still but it has become more crowded. I don't feel like it was as crowded in previous years as it was this year. It feels like it's becoming like NYCC. I started going tonthis one because it wasnt as bad as NYCC crowd wise. I feel like Thursday should be added.

    Overcrowded

by Boo boo on 11/8/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

Showing up waiting in line at the opening hour. Nobody who work there had any sense of direction. There were no signs. Eventually we were guided to the place we needed to be at only to be yelled at by the crowd and security for cutting the line.

    Not great

by Matt on 11/8/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

Too expensive, over crowded, lack of desirable guests and artists.

    Forts Comic Con

by Ariana on 11/8/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

This was my first comic con ever and it was the best. I really only came to see logic but just walking around seeing everybody costumes was very cool. The only issue I had was it was hard to find someone that worked for comic con to find where I was going but other than it was an amazing experience.

    Needs improvement

by BL on 11/8/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

Between the horrific experience that is Ticketmaster telling me my tickets were sent to the wrong address and there was nothing they could do about it to my tickets showing up 2 days before the event and then RICC overselling once again too many tickets I’d say while yes it was amazing to Meet the people we want to meet this whole experience was a mess. They need to NOT go through Ticketmaster. The need to have time blocks for bigger names guests and they need to have photo ops in a complete separate area. Not shoved in a small space butted up again a food vendor being yelled at to move where there is literally no where to go.

    Rhode Island Con

by Paige82074 on 11/8/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

This was my third time going to Rhode Island Comic-Con unfortunately this was the first time I had a really lousy time there were way too many people there and it was extremely hot my costume had wings on and every time somebody walked past me nobody seemed to care about me they kept banging into me and my wings I'm surprised my wings didn't break. One merchant told me that they didn't accept cash which I thought was really in poor taste.

It was fun, but has some flaws

by Rodimus1982 on 11/8/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

Rhode Island comic con is amazing but it's not without it's flaws. For one thing the fees for tickets are way too high and need to be reduced drastically, especially on the VIP passes. Another thing, allowing Celebrities to change prices for autographs is also something that should be stopped, I know they need to make money, but we con goers have budgets.

by Squidward on 11/7/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

This was our first Comic Con Event! It was amazing! My grandson and I had a blast! This is definitely a 5 star event and the Funko Pops were everywhere and Pokémon Cards too! The prices were amazing I did a lot of Christmas shopping! We also got a selfie with Squidward my grandson's favorite cartoon! Glad we went it is definitely worth checking out!

    Where'd all the comics go?

by Tim on 11/6/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

As exciting as it was to see how many celebrities there were at this con -- and there were plenty -- there was an amazing lack of comic book vendors. The main hall was huge with lots of different crafts, artists, novelties, and retro toys, but only a handful of actual comic book vendors. I would love to see more next time as that is my primary reason for attending.

    The absolute dope experience

by Shail on 11/6/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

The experience was phenomenal, the ticket were expensive though, but thanks to the flex pay method, it made it easy to adquiere the ticket, I hope next year the event will be better or be the same as this year

    Awesome but too many people!

by Eric J on 11/6/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

Love the panels, seeing and getting to meet the celebrities! Also, love all the amazing artists and great shops! However, I think that the event gets over sold for tickets each year. Too many people packed in the event like sardines. People have trouble moving around amongst each other. I saw one lady fall down and some people in wheelchairs that really had trouble moving around. If there was ever a fire or something I think there would be real problem. Also, the venue doesn’t to a good job roping off areas of travel for traffic and lines for meeting the celebrities. I would love to give 5 stars because I do enjoy going to each year to ComicCon, but too many people are packed into the event.

OK, Not as much excitement as years past

by The Question on 11/6/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

I attended on Friday and was happy to see the reasonable crowds and good traffic flow. It was nice to see the celebrities were mostly there at the start of the Con. Not as many comic book vendors as in years past. More anime and plush toy vendors. The 501st never disappoints and the guest's signings were organized. I wish they had opened up more rooms on the 2nd floor to spread out the celebrity signing space. The ticket price increase to over $50 for 6 hours was almost not worth it. The RI Department of Revenue walking around bothering vendors during the Con was bush league. This should have been done outside of visiting hours. Mostly it looked like fun was had by all. Looking forward to 2024.

    Always fun

by Brian on 11/6/23Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

It's always an incredibly fun (and exhausting) weekend. Only criticsm is that they changed the set up for photo ops. This led to extreme crowd congestion during some times resulting in areas where there was next to no room to even move. I also think they under and over-estimated the turnout for some celebs (very long lines in small confined areas for some, and no lines in larger areas for others).

Lots of autographs, a mix of everything else

by FanboyForever on 12/19/22Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

While the Rhode Island Comic-Con had a broad mix of everything a comics fan might want, it seemed to lean heavily on celebrity autographs. I was very much impressed with the number of celebrities they managed to gather and it you wanted photo ops or autographs from them I can think of no better comic-con than this. The toys, Legos and other items on sale were pretty typical for cons. However, if you you're into buying classic comic back issues this was only OK. There were a few dealers and their stock was often limited. So I think you just need to think carefully about what you want to get out of the experience to determine if the ticket price is worth it.
