The show was phenomenal. The little girls' voices were amazing, the set was terrific, and the cast was incredible.

This is my 3rd time seeing Annie (the first in 1977) and it still moves me everytime I see it! I introduced it to my 5 year old daughter this time and she fell in love with it as well. What a great show to allow to children experience the theater.

  • The movie is much better

Being a longtime fan of the movie, I was excited to see Annie on stage. I don't know if it was this particular performance, or cast, but the whole thing just fell flat. I didn't get a lot of energy from the cast. And I felt like during most of the numbers the cast would just stand in one place and sing instead of using the whole stage to move around and put on a "show". The best example was during "I think I'm gonna like it here". The staff all stood in one place singing. Annie and Grace moved around a little. But mostly everyone just stood on their marks, sang their lines and gestured. Quite boring for the audience (imo). I blame the directors and choreographers more than the cast. But bottom line, I feel like this was a low-energy show. I would not recommend it for anyone who is a big fan of the movie.

Awesome production! Great music, characters, costumes and sets. My date and I really enjoyed the play and highly recommend it to all ages. Annie and her dog, Sandie, stole our hearts.

  • Annie is worth the icy January walk downtown!

by Marquann on 1/21/10Auditorium Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

My 5-yr old grandaughter enjoyed most of the performance but like other children in the audience, got restless during non-musical parts during the 2nd half. Acoustics need work. Some voices were overly loud to the point of being unclear. Overall, the popular musical score, recognized by almost all the children in the audience, and the juicy role of the orphanage shrew, Ms. Hannigan, made this experience very enjoyable for the while family! Go see for yourself!

I took my 13-year-old daughter to see Annie and am so happy that I did! We absolutely loved the show. All of the actors sounded great and did an amazing job. I had seen a production of Annie about 30 years ago and loved it then. This production was just as great.

Great voices in everyone. My 9 year granddaughter laughed out loud at Grace dancing around with the check . The FDR stuff is for the grown-ups watching. Sound was so good I did not even need to use the hearing impaired device.

  • Don't bring kids under 7

    by KCan9 on 1/19/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

My almost-eight-year-old liked it, but kids always have a hard time when "it's not like the movie". The fact that Annie didn't have curly hair until the end drove us nuts though. My husband and I liked it too, but there were some very little kids in front of us that could NOT stay still.

We took our 7 year old girls to see Annie at the Fox and it was a fabulous experience. They were familiar with the story and beamed throughout the production. One of my girls informed me that this was the "best day ever." I was surprised as the number of people who came with very young children (3 and 4 year olds). Since the play ran 2 1/2 hours, these young children seemed to struggle a bit with the length of the play.

From the overnight stay at the Georgian Terrace, the dinner at Livingston and the show Annie, it was an amazingly fun girls night out. The show was incredable. There was never a dull moment. Loved it and would see it again in a minute!

By far the most amazing show I've seen at the Fox Theater! How well they followed the story line from back in the day, simply phenomenal! The actors, how the stage was dressed, the music, everything! Definitely worth going to!

  • GREAT, BUT..........

by ANOTHERANNIEFAN on 1/19/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

The acting was terrific. The music was great as usual. But the play was full of four letter words - which made me uncomfortable with the seven year old who I had taken along with his parents to see the play. I have seen Annie several times before and remembered the scene where Daddy Warbucks changed his way of talking because Annie was now around. To me, that reflects the positive influence of Annie on his life. In this version he continues to use the four letter words after that scene and so do several other characters in scenes with or without Annie in them. It is bad when a seven year old is counting the curse words in a "childrens" play that you have taken him to see.

  • Annie enchanted my 6 year old

    by Workingmomof3 on 1/19/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Annie was great (again). I loved it as a child, and I was so happy to take my girls, ages 6 and 4. They loved it as much as I did.
