  • Good show, bad seats.

The performance was good. Miss Haningan stole the show! I would recommend to anyone purchasing tickets at the Fox Theater NOT to by the front orchestra seats. I spent the extra to get "great" seats, however, my children could not see that stage through the people sitting in front of us. The theater is small enough that any seat is a good seat.

  • Annie deserved the standing O

I took my 10 year old grandson to see this national touring show, and even though he wished it was about a boy, he loved it too. The cast was wonderfully talented, the songs sounded fresh. The production was great and the show moved along smoothly and professionally. The fact that the material was pretty dated didn't take away from our enthusiasm and complete enjoyment of the show. We left singing and wishing we could see it again!

The show was wonderful. This production I would see again and the talent was great. It was comical and entertaining and also a great production for family and kids to see together.

  • Annie well worth seeing!

Originally I purchased these tickets for my parents, they were not able to attend so my husband and I deceided to go. Glad we did! My husband used to manage a small PAC for many years so we are aware of what it takes to produce a good show. The sound was fantastic. It was very clear and well balanced, although my husband personally prefers more bass. The recovery from the sound loss near the end was handled very quickly. Everyone was a beautiful singer and the harmonies were excellent. All cast members were well rehearshed and very entertaining. Our personal favorites were Miss Hannigan, Molly, Daddy Warbucks & Grace. This is not usually the type of show we go to, but we were both very pleased....too bad my parents weren't able to attend because I know they would have throughly enjoyed it.

The show itself was fine. But our seats were terrible and the sound system went out for a few minutes and you could not hear what the cast was saying.

  • Outstanding Performance

We had a fabulous time seeing Annie. I would highly recommend it to families who would like a fun night out. The Fox Theater in Riverside was absolutely beautiful and very convenient for those of us in the Inland Empire.

  • Top of the line!

by BusBozo on 2/8/10Fox Performing Arts Center - RIVERSIDERating: 4 out of 5

The show and actors were fantastic. I was impressed with the theater, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. This venue is a great addition to the whole area, and I plan to attend many more events. I would have given 5 stars, but I had a bit of difficulty with understanding some of the quieter dialogue. In fairness, my friend, said he didn't have any problems.

I really enjoyed Annie. The cast was fabulous and the theatre just beautiful. I took my 91 year old mother to see it and when we were unable to see because of some guests in wheelchairs in front of us, the staff moved us to the front row! They were so considerate and really wanted my Mother to be able to enjoy the show. I would recommend the play and the venue to everyone.

  • Ok but not worth the money.

by twothumbsdownforfox on 2/7/10Fox Performing Arts Center - RIVERSIDERating: 3 out of 5

The play was OK. Not great. But i am reviewing it against broadway plays i have seen in New York, Mamma Mia and Hairspray. Which were much more enjoyable and "higher scale". This play was good for something different but for the hundred dollars I spent on two tickets I could think of more entertaining things to do. I would imagine the movie is just as entertaining if not more since you dont have to deal with other people around you that like to interrupt. I would also have to give the Fox Theatre two thumbs down for having very unprofessional staff members who were more interruptive and rude than anyone else and on top of that they didnt even know the seating charts or anything about the theatre.

  • "Annie" production great!

by dignity on 2/7/10Fox Performing Arts Center - RIVERSIDERating: 5 out of 5

What a wholesome, inspiring stage production that took me back to childhood and the original "Orphan Annie" comic strip. The cast each gave his/her "all"--superb! I absolutely loved the character "Miss Hannigan"--what an actress and voice; her part came alive! Also, the little girl who played the youngest of the orphans virtually belted out her part--bravo to her, as well!! Each cast member was well-rehearsed and prepared for a most memorable production--cudos to each of them!! One comment not meant to be critical, but instead, helpful, is that "Orphan Annie" herself started off rather weak; she was at times, difficult to hear, needs to strengthen her voice. (This is certainly not meant to be overly-critical, because Annie was, also, very good in her role; however, in the lead part, she must work to be outstanding).

  • Fantastic

This play pulled together amazingly. All of the actors and actresses were great, the orchestra did phenomenal, and overall I had a great time. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to have a good time.

  • Annie was Absolutely Refereshing

From the beginning, Annie invites you in as a long lost friend. Annies friends were spot on and Mrs Hannigan was a breath of fresh air. Daddy Warbucks stole the show and FDR was played brilliantly... u need to experience this show!!!!

The show and the music was great. Show was longer than I expected, 2 1/2 hours with a 15 minute intermission. My 11 year old grandson loved it.

  • Annie was just like the movie

by Mommy2TwinBoys on 2/6/10Fox Performing Arts Center - RIVERSIDERating: 5 out of 5

The show was excellent. The characters had incredible voices, especially Annie. The characters made the show come alive and the show was just like the movie that I remember when I was a kid. I would definitely go see this show again.

  • Annie is so-so acting but great singing

by queenoftheatre on 2/4/10Fox Performing Arts Center - RIVERSIDERating: 3 out of 5

Great singing by the whole cast! Love the music. Miss Hannigan was real fun,and the girl can sing! The girl who played Annie can really sing well and the little Molly was very cute! The rest of the cast seemed really stiff and flat. I've seen this show a few times...and this was just OK.
