Get ready to cheer or jeer as you decide who stays and who gets booted off stage. At Amateur Night, you tell the performers to be good or be gone!
Amateur Night at the Apollo is hosted by the comedian Capone. Each show begins with a festive pre-party featuring video and music by DJ Jess. Also, keep a lookout for master impressionist C.P. Lacey, the resident Executioner who sweeps bad talent off the stage.
My daughters had a ball! Lots of audience interaction and you could tell the evening was carefully crafted for maximum fun! We enjoyed all sorts of events during spring break in New York and this was the BEST!!!

We went a first round show out of curiosity, expecting, probably unrealistically, to see some professional level if until now unrecognized talent. This was not the case unfortunately. Maybe the final round would be better. Better to spend your money in a venue with real pros performing.
I haven't had this much fun in a long time! The pre-show dance party, the band, the soul singer, the comedian and all of the performers made this a night to remember. The Apollo is a beautiful and historical theater in Harlem. You can feel the spirits of the performers who had been featured here. The atmosphere is incredible! I can't wait to go back again!!
Amateur Night at the Apollo was one of our favourite things we've ever done in NYC. The atmosphere was incredible, presenters (MC, DJ, Band) were outstanding...but most importantly, the performers were AWESOME!! The staff at the Apollo make you feel very welcome. My family felt safe the entire time we were there. We picked up some very good souvenir t-shirts. As the title says, if you're in NYC, do yourself the favour...attend Amateur Night at the Apollo. I promise, you will love it.
We need more contestants!!!!!! I think we should return to our old days and have more contestants the show has continued to shrink and Marion give Harlem what we deserve!!!!! Give us our money’s worth!!! Stop cutting!!!!!
This was my first time at Apollo theater. I was pleased with the restroom attendant. She took coats, handed out paper towels, etc. She made sure you had what you needed and did it with a warm welcoming voice and a smile. As far as the event...The show was Outstanding. Such talent from the host, Caprone, making us laugh, to all the singers, dancers and musicians, it was amazing.
Just fabulous. A beautiful showcase full of young and inspiring people. Humor was great. I brought my grandchildren and they all gave it a 10 out of 10
From the beginning till the end it’s always a fantastic show. Hosted by the unique comedian Capone time flies away. Always on my list when I am in NY.

The Amateur Night at the Apollo was the highlight of our ten-day-trip to NYC. Showtime with heart and soul. I hope we can come back one day!
