The performers/artists are powerfully talented but the program is over due for a change. I've attended over the years but my 16 year old who was underwhelmed said it's" for older generations and that noone is wading in the water".

Extension, balance, presence are needed to do what they did to pull off amazing choreography and so justice to the modern works and the Ailey traditional pieces.
I’ve been attending AA performances since 2002… every experience has been breathtaking and enjoyable. The dancers continue to amaze.
I brought my older teen kids and we were all mesmerized from the first steps of the show. It was more than worth driving an hour in a downpour. We will definitely go again.
I have seen the Alvin Ailey American Dance Group several times. Each time seems to be better than the last. The dancers move with the music, with style, and grace. They are ALWAYS in synched! The performance Saturday night was nothing less - I enjoyed the show, and the expressions they portrayed. It was an excellent show, and I've shared this experience with many.
This marks the third time that I've seen dancers from The Alvin Aliey Theater and it is always awe inspiring! It is a sincere delight to see Alvin Ailey's legacy living and breathing!
Good to be back enjoying my favorite dance company … looking forward to sharing with my family many more seasons of superb performances.
I have been a dancer for 17 years and eventually you start to lose that passion, but watching the Alvin Ailey dance company dance it almost renewed that spark in me. There were things I saw that took my breath away and the raw emotion that each dancer gave to every performance almost brought me to tears. Dance is truly the glue holding everything together right now, thank god for the arts!
The first half of the show I was not impressed due to it not being Alvin Ailey’s choreography. The second half was amazing!!! All of his original choreography it made sense and was easy to follow.

They have outdone themselves. I was a dancer for 30 years and have seen tons of companies perform. None exceed Alvin Ailey. This performance was the best of any performance by any company I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much!
The performance was awesome! The music, choreography and staging were spectacular. Truly enjoyed.
The dancers were electrifying. I was engaged the entire time, I didnt want it to end. This a performace that every inspired dancer young or old should see.
Alvin Ailey dance is really a cultural icon and I personally think experiencing Revelations is a necessary artistic pilgrimage. I try to see them yearly and they never disappoint. The Norfolk audience is not the best audience.
It was everything I was hoping for and more. It was joyful, heartwarming and heartbreaking. It was beautiful and I’m looking forward to future performances.

Seeing the world renowned Alvin Ailey Dancers was worth every second!! Magical performances by exceptional dancers!
Phenomenal performance! The first time I saw this group was 30 years ago as a child. It was magic to me when my mother took me. This current show did not disappoint.
This was my second time having an Alvin Ailey dance theater experience. My daughter (12) accompanied me on both occasions. My daughter is a dancer and her face was glowing the entire time. We can’t wait to go to NY for classes for her next summer!! The dancers were gracious, powerful and it was an incredible experience.
