  • Calm and bright

by SeekingClarity on 12/19/16Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

It was the coldest, snowiest weekend of the winter so far, and this 65 minute event made it worth the effort it was to get there. It was beautiful in the telling, the singing, and filled me with hope for the world. Also, the staff at the Pantages was incredibly welcoming - even through the scanning. It was refreshing.

  • All Is Calm: true meaning of Christmas

by Enjoytheholidays on 12/18/16Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

The Theater La Te Da presentation of All Is Calm is a great addition to the holiday season line-up. Showing in the wonderful Pantages Theater it combines great music, acting, and history.

  • Superb Production!

by lgschmidt on 12/23/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

We greatly enjoyed the production - singing was excellent, acting terrific, and of course the story line was so timely! We recommended to everyone we talked to, and the auditorium looked packed, so it should have been a rousing success. Almost goes without saying that some of the original Cantus members/founders continue their amazing adaptations and arrangements - BRAVO!

  • Every history buff should see this

by MelanieFromGoldenValley on 12/23/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The singing is incredible, no question, but what makes this production so special is that it tells a story without it being a traditional story. Through song and the reading of diaries and letters, the story of the circumstances of the soldiers are told. It was hard to hear sometimes, what they had to go through, but it is a story so worth telling. I saw this production a few years ago when the Cantus still were doing it, and it was beautiful then, but it has lost nothing - still worth every awe-inspiring minute.

  • All Is Calm...All Were Great!

    by PooDough2 on 12/23/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

All Is Calm was a very pleasant surprise. My husband and I, although we had read many reviews, did not know what to expect from this play. The voices of the 12 gentleman melted together with such smoothness and beauty it brought tears to one's eyes. The acting is exceptional, the story line is touching, and the harmony... breathtaking. We are fans and will attend annually. It is phenomonal!

It was a great event to make lasting memories with adult family members. The rousing and long-lasting standing ovation was the instant review of what others thought of it.

  • All is Calm

One of the very best performances (musicals, plays, dance, opera, blends) that we have been privileged to witness.

  • Should be a Christmas tradition

by Tyggerstyx on 12/22/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

This true story of the Christmas truce in WWI deserves to be told again and again. And the cast was amazing. I was moved to tears several times by the beauty of the voices in song. This isn't a long performance, and isn't pandering or forcing an ideology. It's just a simple story of how a like we all are. I'd also never been to the Pantages Theater. What a lovely space. but the seating is very cramped. I kept hitting the chap in front of me with my knees.

  • A sound and emotional experiance

by wheelmanmark on 12/22/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This was a well done adaptation of prior performances. The men's voices mixed perfectly.

  • 'All is Calm' is truly powwerful

    by 2Gophers on 12/22/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

and tells a story we could all learn from today. Tremendous performances all around, and the play flowed beautifully. We were truly stunned at the power of its message. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.

This show was extremely heartfelt. The men up on stage were invested and so incredibly talented. The music was beautiful and well done and the direction was smart, thoughtful, and on point. This is a must see Christmas show and I hope more people are able to see it next year!!

  • Our new holiday tradition

    by dunnksi57 on 12/21/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

An incredible cast, poignant story and best collection of male voices in the Twin Cities. This re-staging of the original should be a must see for the Holidays.

  • All is Calm wonderful. TicketM parking info wrong!

    by Nikko1234 on 12/21/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This was a marvelous event in every way. Ticketmaster erroneously said parking at the City Center ramp would be $5 if we showed our ticket stub. There was no one to show the ticket stub to. We paid $12.

  • ALL IS CALM

by NUCKNCHUK on 12/20/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS WE HAVE SEEN ALL YEAR AND WE GO TO THE THEATER AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK ON AVERAGE. I THINK THE AUDIENCE HELD THEIR BREATH FROM THE OPENING MOMENTS UNTIL THE BEAUTIFUL CLOSE. THIS IS A MUST SEE!

  • Simply ... Amazing!

by RockOnRick on 12/20/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

An incredible blending of voices in song and narrative of a story that is so appropriate to not only this time of year, but for what ails our world. Though minimalist in comparison to most stage performances, it was enthralling. It was no wonder there was a five minute standing ovation, once we all collected our breath, wiped our tears and gave thanks in the most appropriate manner.

  • Good - but was beter with Cantus

by Cannonfalls on 12/20/15Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

This was my second time seeing the show. The first time, was when Cantus performed. Though the story line is still fabulous and this is still a wonderful Christmas story, I found the earlier performance much better. I was surprised at the change in lighting and staging and felt the earlier setting added significantly to the ambience of the production. In addition, I found the play back and forth between the Germans and the Allies harder to follow in the current production - not sure what had changed, if anything... I probably won't see it again, but will try to get a copy of the Cantus soundtrack. If you haven't seen it before though - definately go see it once!

  • Wonderful

by PMJH on 12/16/15Fox Cities PAC - AppletonRating: 5 out of 5

The emotion of the cast, the compelling story of soldiers who dropped their arms and joined hands was powerful and moving. The fact that cast members held a meet and greet following the performance was wonderful and very enlightening about the history surrounding The Christmas Truce and others like it.
