About

ADAM CAROLLA is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and NY Times best-selling author. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “most downloaded podcast," and was recently a star on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.  His latest book, Not Taco Bell Material, was released in June 2012 from Random House Publishing.

Adam started The Adam Carolla Show podcast with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009.  That year the podcast was named iTunes #1 Podcast of 2009, and it has only grown since then.  The podcast receives more than five million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. Adam’s immediate success prompted him to launch an entire online network, ACE Broadcasting in February 2010, which produces many of iTunes' top podcast programming.

Adam became a New York Times best-selling author when his book, In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks, topped the charts for ten weeks. The audio version went straight to the #1 position on iTunes and remains there today. His new e-book, Rich Man Poor Man, is now available on iTunes.

Before running his online empire, Adam hosted The Adam Carolla Show on CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, Portland and Las Vegas. The four-hour weekday morning program was syndicated in several major markets, including Seattle, Sacramento and Fresno.

Adam has also starred on ABC's hit reality series Dancing with the Stars, hosted Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla and starred in TLC's The Adam Carolla Project, which chronicled the renovation and subsequent sale of his boyhood home.

Following brief stints as a skilled carpenter and boxing trainer, Adam began his career in radio after answering an ad seeking a boxing instructor to train then radio personality Jimmy Kimmel of KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles. He eventually joined the show's repertoire as “Mr. Birchum,” a wood shop teacher. Adam’s success on KROQ led to a hosting job on the nationally syndicated radio program Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Adam and Dr. Drew for five seasons (1996-2000). The duo also authored The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love.

With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Adam heads Jackhole Industries, and created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, The Man Show and Crank Yankers.

A native of Southern California, Adam currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynette, and their twins.

Adam Carolla is the funniest comedian I've seen live. I would definitely recommend anyone interested in a good laugh to purchase a ticket and go see him speak on random topics. Definitely worth every penny.

  • Show was great.

I love Adam and loved the show. I still wish he would talk more about politics, family values, and relationships. I love his point of view on those topics and he's still funny when he gets a little more serious. But instead the show started with his queen Latina and Dixie chicks stories. There were no black folks in the audience so I was distracted at the show as I kept checking to see if the all black theatre employees were laughing. And they weren't. Adams not racist but he still brought race comedy to NYC which I think is a place for more intelligent comedy. Less queen Laquifa and fart jokes and more of Adams intellectual comedy. I still lie him though.

  • Funny, but a lot of recycled material

It was great to see Adam live finally, after listening to his podcast everyday. I was a little disappointed that the bulk of his performance was centered around stories he had told in his book, and repeated several times on the podcast. It was good, but not worth the $80 I paid.

  • Carolla delivers the laughs!

    by Slapstick1 on 11/12/12Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

He's funny from start to finnish. Irreverent and unapologetic. At times raunchy, but not too over the top for me.

  • Adam Carolla Get's It On

    by bacardi1939 on 10/17/12Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 5 out of 5

If you listen to Adam's podcast then you know exactly what to expect. Adam is hilarious from start to beginning. The master of rants uses a big screen to bring up images of things that just get under his skin or that he has stories about. Highly recommend seeing him live and listening to his podcast. Would definately go to see him perform again.

  • Get it on, Ace man!

by TonyVillar on 10/15/12Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 5 out of 5

I am a big fan who listens to the Adam Carolla Podcast every day, and Adam didn't disappoint. His act included new material and some stories from his book, but added enough new color to the stories I'd already heard that it was still fresh and entertaining.

  • Hilarious

by Phariee on 10/14/12Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 5 out of 5

I've been an Adam Carolla fan for well over 10 years and this was my first time seeing him live. Great show for me and the hubby as we both equally laughed. Adams rants are hilarious and the hour and a half went by too fast. Already want to see him again!

  • Enjoyable Hour & A Half

I wish Adam would have been a little more political, but all good. Would definitely go to another one of his shows.

  • Adam Carolla, Honest and Refreshing.

by WIllCountyLawyer on 10/14/12Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 5 out of 5

We enjoyed the show immensely. Adam's self-deprecating humor served as an inoculant to his jokes at the expense of homosexuals, jews, blacks and mexicans. But if we can't laugh at ourselves, we may as well cash it in. Adam, part Jewish himself, reminds us we are all in this together, and if he has been able to live the American Dream, having grown up in abject poverty and having come from a broken home to becoming a millionaire before the age of 40, any one of us can. Anyone living in this country who is able-bodied and of sound mind can make it, even in this economy. Adam is down to earth, brutally honest, and has carved out a very nice niche for himself, thank you very much. And he is not shy about letting you know how he got there. Especially today, where our country seems to have reached the tipping point where those on public assistance outnumber those of us who actually pay taxes, Adam reminds us of the inherent virtue of working hard and earning your keep. An exceptional, multi-media, comedy show with a workman's ethic from start to finish. Highly recommended.

  • Adam Carolla got it on!

by TheLeez on 10/14/12Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 5 out of 5

Since I've read both books and listen to the podcast everyday I was worried that there'd be no new material, but there were hardly any repeats. Even the stories I knew had new twists. Adam Carolla is amazingly funny and original.

I THOUGHT THE SHOW AND THE THEATER WAS GREAT. ADAM CAROLLA KEPT US ENTERTAINED.

  • Funny show, but Adam Needs New Material

by SkinnyBill on 10/14/12Rialto Square Theatre - JolietRating: 3 out of 5

Adam is funny, but if you were at the show in Chicago a while back, this show was 75% the same material. On top of that, if you listen to his podcast, you've heard another 20% of the material before too. So, that leaves only about 5% new stuff that I had never heard. Still, Adam delivers so well that it was okay hearing it all again, but new stuff would have been a lot more enjoyable.

Show was O.K. found his humor to be a little dull. Looking at his photos and listening to all his observations and complaints was a little much. Think he is better on his pod cast with a guest to interact with. Stick with radio and not stand-up.

  • Adam was great

  • Disappointing

    by ifrav8r on 10/3/12Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic CityRating: 1 out of 5

From the first sentence, you could feel the energy drain from the room. People started leaving 20 minutes in, and continued to leave throughout. Stories went on too long, timing was off, punch lines got explained. Not much got a laugh. The routine showing us his social security statement and giving us a motivational speech was more deflating than motivating.
