About

ADAM CAROLLA is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and NY Times best-selling author. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “most downloaded podcast," and was recently a star on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.  His latest book, Not Taco Bell Material, was released in June 2012 from Random House Publishing.

Adam started The Adam Carolla Show podcast with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009.  That year the podcast was named iTunes #1 Podcast of 2009, and it has only grown since then.  The podcast receives more than five million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. Adam’s immediate success prompted him to launch an entire online network, ACE Broadcasting in February 2010, which produces many of iTunes' top podcast programming.

Adam became a New York Times best-selling author when his book, In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks, topped the charts for ten weeks. The audio version went straight to the #1 position on iTunes and remains there today. His new e-book, Rich Man Poor Man, is now available on iTunes.

Before running his online empire, Adam hosted The Adam Carolla Show on CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, Portland and Las Vegas. The four-hour weekday morning program was syndicated in several major markets, including Seattle, Sacramento and Fresno.

Adam has also starred on ABC's hit reality series Dancing with the Stars, hosted Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla and starred in TLC's The Adam Carolla Project, which chronicled the renovation and subsequent sale of his boyhood home.

Following brief stints as a skilled carpenter and boxing trainer, Adam began his career in radio after answering an ad seeking a boxing instructor to train then radio personality Jimmy Kimmel of KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles. He eventually joined the show's repertoire as “Mr. Birchum,” a wood shop teacher. Adam’s success on KROQ led to a hosting job on the nationally syndicated radio program Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Adam and Dr. Drew for five seasons (1996-2000). The duo also authored The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love.

With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Adam heads Jackhole Industries, and created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, The Man Show and Crank Yankers.

A native of Southern California, Adam currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynette, and their twins.

  • Adam Carolla

by CaliforniaHT on 9/26/16Bogart's - CincinnatiRating: 3 out of 5

Show was not as funny as I expected. It did start quite late, and while I love Adam, this monologue was just not his usual politically incorrect banter. The cartoon skit could be omitted from the show. Talk more about politics and LA.

  • Carolla mailed it in

    by Williemo1986 on 9/26/16Bogart's - CincinnatiRating: 2 out of 5

Really bummed out. Carolla rehashed old stories that any long time follower has read in the books and heard on the pod. Paid 60 bucks a ticket to sit up close and no audience interaction, I think he was just collecting a check before headed up to Chicago for the "real" show.

  • Get some new material, Adam

by Trixiemc on 9/24/16Bogarts - CincinnatiRating: 2 out of 5

I saw Adam in Indianapolis about five years ago and then again last night. 75% of the material he did last night was the same as what he did years ago. I've listened to Adam for probably 15 years and I know he's capable coming up with new material. He does it all the time on his podcasts, so this just came off as him being lazy in my opinion. I'm sad to say that I wouldn't pay to go see him again and I really like him. I even sponsored him at the VIP level for Road Hard. As an aside, the screen needed to be bigger, but that was Bogarts' fault I would assume.

  • Adam was great!

As usual, Adam Carolla put on a great show with his wit and humor.

  • Surprised that this show was NOT funny

by JustJulz on 3/30/16The Pageant - St LouisRating: 1 out of 5

We were not expecting an actual show, however, looking at the name, I should've known. I thought there was going to be more of a monologue. This show was absolutely not funny. We heard about the two local guy's experiences with the strippers more than Mr. Carolla. We have read his books and watched him and this content was just juvenile penis, sperm, and poop jokes. Really, nothing else. I thought there would be a point in the show he would move on to another topic or set of topics i.e. raising kids, politics, anything, but sadly no. It would've been great for the undergrad college boys, but I don't think they were even laughing that hard. For $50 a ticket I expected to be rolling with laughter. Disappointing.

  • If you're already a fan, you will enjoy.

If you're a fan of Adam and the ACS you will like attending these podcast tapings to get a peek at how the sausage is made so to speak. I wouldn't bring friends not familiar with Adam, his humor, or his point of view. Been a fan since 96, finally got to meet Adam (the whole crew sticks around for meet and greets).

  • Adam Carolla does it again!

by Wadkc on 3/29/16The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This is the 3rd time and each one has been very entertaining. I've driven 4 hours twice to see the show.

  • Even better than I expected.

The Pageant Theatre is a great venue and hosting the Adam Carolla Show is a great fit. The show itself was great from beginning to end. I had always tried to visualize what the live podcast shows looked like and now I know. Almost a mixture of town hall meeting meets stand up comedy meets podcast. The next time there is an opportunity to see the show anywhere near where I live, I'll be there.

  • Disappointed

by Fastrend on 1/18/16NYCB Theatre at Westbury - WestburyRating: 1 out of 5

He was really bad, I found nothing he said in the least bid funny and ended up leaving about 30-35 min. into the show. I feel like I was over at a friends watching his vacation videos/pictures, and you know how trilling that is. Never again. I would give him a half a star or the no star if I could.

  • yeah yeah

It was exactly what I was expecting. Adam delivered the type of material he usually brings to his daily podcast with the same intensity as he usually has. If you are a fan, you would have loved it. He had Mangria at the show which was awesome albeit a little pricey, however, it does make up for the price with a sweet tasting kick.

As always Adam and gang put on a great show. It was awesome to have Howie Mandel make a random appearance. Jay Mohr was hiarious and I enjoy all of his impressions. T

Adam Carolla and Jay Mohr are truly amazing to watch, and both complement each other so well when it comes to stand up. Even got to take pictures with Adam. An item on my bucket list has been crossed off.

  • Adam and team did not disappoint

by StacerStacer on 10/13/14Charline McCombs Empire Theatre - San AntonioRating: 4 out of 5

I have been listening the to the podcast for about 6 months now. I drove from Austin to see the show in San Antonio. It was great to see it live. Anyone that is fan of the podcast will love the show. Being able to put faces to the show cast was great. It was fun to laugh with other fans. Great vibe all around. The only weird part was the meet and greet. I should probably just skip meet and greets. I feel like a dork and assume they think I am a dork. I can never think of anything smart, funny or witty enough to make me feel like it was worth their time to shake my hand. :-)

  • Adam Carolla Show

by pixelpie on 10/13/14Charline McCombs Empire Theatre - San AntonioRating: 3 out of 5

The Adam Carolla live show in San Antonio was a great show. We enjoyed the humor and the interactions of the cast. The set was seriously lacking in design. I know it's a recording for a pod cast so what it looks like probably doesn't matter to most people.... but to people who work in the visual industry it was painful. They could have had something better than a crappy table with a wrinkled black table cloth and two chairs with high backs. It was visually pretty sad. Charline McCombs Empire Theatre... has WORST SEATS EVER. They're so close together your knees hit the seat in front of you. When the guy in front of me would laugh is chair would push into my knees and it was physically painful. I'm not tall either I'm only 5'4". It also sucks that the ONLY bathroom is in the BASEMENT. Of course there are several bars on every floor. Whoever planned that epically failed. It was my first and last visit. I'll never see another event in that venue.
