  • A Christmas Story: the Musical was amazing!

by Gatoratc18 on 12/6/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

For anyone who loves this movie, this musical is a must see. The production was wonderfully done, and we were very impressed. There are quite a few kids in the production, and I was amazed at how good and professional they all were! If this musical ever comes back, I will definitely see it again, and take the whole family again as well!

Wonderful! Even better than the movie which I have watched at least 50 times.

  • Christmas Story - out of 10 stars, a whopping 73!

by Anonymous on 12/5/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

My youngest son gave this rating after loving every minute of this show - he turned to me numerous times throughout the play and told me how great it was. My other son kept me prepared for what would happen next from his recollection of the movie. The rest of the time, we all sat back and enjoyed the songs and dances! It was our family first outing to a musical production and I think the kids are hooked ... or at least won't put up too much fuss next time they give up a Saturday to drive 2 hours away to see a musical matinee ... HIGHLY RECOMMEND you take your kids, especially if you have boys!

  • Good Family Fun

by Abbaless on 12/5/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

My family and I enjoyed this very much. Wasn't real sure I would enjoy a musical of the story I was very familar with (DVD), but was pleasantly surprised.

  • A Good Night

by TDWood on 12/5/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

I am not a hugh fan of the Christmas Story Movie, but my sister is. So I decided when they offered a cyber Monday deal to pick up 4 tickets and have a girls night out. And I am glad that I did. The show was amzing. The voices where amazing. The scenery was amazing. I laughed and cried. And then I left the theatre with Ralphie to the Rescue stuck in my head. All in all, so worth the money.

  • Don't buy front row seats!!!

by JasonRack on 12/5/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

We bought front row seats for the show. While the show itself was great, the seats were TERRIBLE!!!!! We had section D row 1 seats 1 and 2. We moved about 30 minutes into the show after talking to someone from the theater. They were very nice and helped us find seats that were much better. If there would not have been better seats available we would have left and asked for our money back. I would have given the show 5 stars if the seats were better.

  • A Christmas Story: the Musical

by Chillymeg on 12/5/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

This production gives Little Orphan Annie a run for it's money on cute family appeal and solid vocal performances! The story is classic, timeless and wholesome fun! All of the actors, especially the kids were superb! Loved it!

My Goodness, the talent of all the children was breath taking. Their voices were so clear and wonderful. All the actors were so multi-talented.

Randy did an awesome job! I loved the way he portrayed the real character in the movie. Ralphie did a good job as well.

Terrific show - magnificent talent!! It was so engaging that I couldn't budge an inch throughout the entire performance

  • Music made a great story even better!

by ML22303 on 12/5/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

A Christmas Story was already one of my holiday favorites and I always appreciated the humor of it. It wasn't until the genius pair of Pasek and Paul added their magical touch that I discovered the heartwarming story of family that emerges from this show. This is a must see! Get out and see it now!

  • A Christmas Story the musical was fabulous!

by HRPRYoda on 12/4/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

We really enjoyed the show, including the subtle/not-so-subtle references to other shows. We were expecting a more "cheesy" show, and were very pleasantly surprised by the caliber of the show and the performers (especially the child actors). I'm also glad that the storyline stayed true to the movie. Definitely recommend this for shool-age and up! Wonderful show!

  • Enjoyed last year's much better but nice show

by tailwagginfun on 12/4/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

Last year's rendition was more intimate in the smaller theater and gave you a better feel for being drawn into the play. This year's show had more of a broadway feel to it with all the dancing, etc. Last year's actors were more true to character and you really followed the story. The Broadway depiction was nice but all the dancing and grandiose took away from the story instead of enhancing it. The set last year was also more true to the show. I did not dislike this year's show but I LOVED last year's play so much better. The announcer in this show was good and enhanced by the sound effects man and that was fun but last year's announcer was AWESOME. I also liked the small shop they had last year with so many more items. This year's was canned with a few items that were ho hum so no purchase.

  • Great Show!

This show was better than the movie! If you ever get the opportunity go, seize that opportunity!

  • Never disappointing!

by KGB2682 on 12/3/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fabulous in every way. Great singing, dancing, acting, narrating, sound effects...would see it again in a heartbeat.

  • Fresh, energetic approach to a favorite Xmas tale

by peddleman on 12/3/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Enjoyed with anticipation all of the favorite scenes from the movie and how the producers presented them with their clever musical flair. I had a smile during the whole performance that was interrupted on numerous occasions by a hearty laugh that even Santa would be hard-pressed to duplicate.

  • Christmas Story the Musical

by McRock on 12/3/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

If you hadn't seen the original movie, you would never know what's going on in Christmas Story the Musical. It was a bit disappointing. It would have been better acted out without the music. The Narrator and Ralphie were good, and the sound effects guy was spot on. Some of the music was fine, but in general it fell short.
