So much fun! It gets me in the holiday spirit. Wonderful humor!
This was our first time to the" Christmas Carol' but it will definetly not be our last. We were blown away with the excitement and professionalism of the cast and crew who painstakingly made this show a blast from beginning to end. The music, comedy and story telling were of the upmost quality. This show will become a yearly tradition with my family and friends. Thank you to all those involved for such a Christmas treat.......
As always, the play was awesome! The crew did a fabulous job!
Tremendous performance, again! Glad to see the original Scrooge - as good a performance as we were told to expect. A wonderful holiday tradition we will continue to enjoy! Can't wait for next year.
As always, a wonderful performance this year! We look forward to this show every year.
We've seen this show each year for the past 7 years or so and enjoy it each year. While the basic story remains the same classic tale, each year they add humorous tidbits from current events - local, national and international - that make it very entertaining. It was great to see Ira David Wood III back 'in action' in the lead role again this year (though his son did an outstanding job last year). You definitely leave the theater with a 'warm and fuzzy' feeling and in the spirit to enjoy the holiday season. A must see!
I loved this show. David Ira Woods is so entertaining. It puts you in the Christmas spirit with a laugh. It was a great evening.
Ira David Wood III's delivery of A Christmas Carol is top notch! Wonderfully presented and delightfully entertaining for the whole family. Very timely material inserted for humor and just a joy to watch them perform. We'll be back next year!!
This was our first visit to DPAC, so with our seats in the upper balcony we were not sure how well the view would be. The seats and the view were great and the show was wonderful and very funny. I'm glad Ira David Wood III was given an encore on life
I thoroughly enjoyed our local 7 star talent! It was non-stop wonderful! It will become a annual event for me. Thank you Mr. Wood for bringing so much laughter into life!
I enjoyed the show, this is the fourth time I've seen it. It's becoming more comedic as the years go by, but still very entertaining. All the actors did a wonderful job. Bravo!
A wonderfully written adaptation of a Christmas classic. Ira David Wood, III is fabulous as Ebnezer Scrooge, as he has been for 36 years. If you like musical comedy you will LOVE this. This is the fifth time I have seen this and it is different everytime. I highly recommend making this part of your holiday tradition.
We were expecting a traditional A Christmas Carol. Instead, it was intended to be funny but was more silly...slapstick. Many people may prefer the contemporary mixed with the traditional, but we did not. We left at intermission.
I was so disappointed in this show. I bought these tickets as a birthday present for my mom because this is her favorite of all Christmas stories. When it started we were so excited, then once Scrooge started making awkward joke after awkward joke we knew this was not what we wanted nor expected. I was wanting a traditional version with all the wonderful Christmas messages portrayed in not such a goofy way. I was particularly not fond of this interpretation because I was constantly reminded I was an audience member watching this from afar and I was not sucked into the story like with other shows that I love so much. There were too many jokes referring to present day including the republican debates and the ghost of Christmas future was little too ridiculous. It was just a little too corny and didn't make a lot of sense some of the substitutions and additions to the story. We had to leave after Scrooge busted out into a Elvis costume... I think the only thing I enjoyed was the Ghost of Christmas Past and the dance scene between young Scrooge and Laura. That was the only time I ever saw Scrooge act as Scrooge. I will not be recommending this at all.
I thought this was one of the better performances - lots of current events. I thought the clown wasn't a great addition. Found him to be boring - not a very interesting part of the program. Overall, great job as usual.
This was my third time seeing this play and I will make sure I always have tickets in the future.
A Christmas Carol was excellent! For a public theater group it felt like a traveling Broadway show! Great job!
Great to see Ira 3 back in the role, Ira 4 great in the lamplighter. Wonderful singing and dancing example of local, dedicated talent. Story - as always - brings the meaning of the seaon forward, but with lots of laughs and giggles along the way. Looking forward to the 50th anniversary show in a few years. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE continue to have 2 to 3 showings at DPAC!!!!
Ira David Wood lives up to his reputation!!! The show was fantastic!
This is a must and recommended for all ages. So glad we went to this. Really special.
