Great family show, my teenagers and their grandparents loved it. A must see for the Holidays!
First of all...the Ohio Theater is beautiful! It's one of those places that you just set and stare at all the awesome things. The organist was also wonderful...so many different sounds coming from that organ. The play/musical was very good...the actors did a great job. There were a few times that I couldn't hear the lines and there seemed to be a little confusion when to move the spots to an actor who was speaking...but overall...those things didn't matter...they did a great job. The actor playing Scrooge was amazing...he was on stage most of the evening and was very professional and entertaining. It was a birthday present for my wife and I want to thank you for a wonderful evening.
My wife and I have been going for 15years and i have never been disapointed. Great show.
The play was enjoyable, as it has been for the last 5 years that I've seen it. This is the first year we took our four-year-old daughter and she loved it. She wanted to get a closer look at the ghosts, especially Marley. Every year, the play has a few subtle changes. This year the cast appeared to be smaller (I noticed that during Fezziwig's party, there were fewer couples dancing). However, the one change that I couldn't get past was the actor who played Tiny Tim. He was walking normally throughout the play and he wasn't small at all. The play is centered around the frail Tiny Tim who will succumb to his illness if Scrooge doesn't change his attitude about Christmas. It just was an odd casting choice. Other than that, the cast was highly talented and entertaining. We will continue our family tradition and return next year.
This year we saw a different side of Ebenezer Scrooge; he had a bit of humor added to his character which made him a bit more endearing. Also, the Bob Cratchitt character was allowed to be a bit more humorous which rounded out his character as well.
The play was well orchestrated - the whole family was impressed and entertained.
tremendous performance, an unforgettable experience for my family!
Forgot how much fun live theater can be! Even the "mistakes" are endearing in the overall moment of the show. Thanks Nebraska Theatre for your hard work and inspired efforts - it made for an enjoyable date night with my wife! The message is always timeless for us all. Cheers and Merry Christmas - God Bless Us - Everyone!!!
Very slow, boring, left at intermission. Would not recommend to adults, great for kids
Have seen this show several times over the years and it never disappoints...it is the perfect thing to put you into the Christmas spirit!
Our extended family had louge seats for the performance. The costumes, staging and music were very well done. However, when it came to lights and sound, there were some issues. On several occasions, the spot was well behind the lines and the actor spoke in the dark. Also, the sound needed to be a little louder. Some lines were lost. If these issues are corrected, we feel it would be a worthwhile show to recommend to friends.
Scrooge was very good. He captivated the audience with his manorisms and he represented the character very well. The singing voices of the cast were outstanding, which made the experience of going to the theatre a good one.
We go and see this show every year, and it never gets old. The actors do an amazing job. I will continue to go every year.
I enjoyed Christmas Carol. The scenes were effective and the singing and acting good. The funny scens were not necessary and may have taken some of the effects of the play away, however I realize the director was tring to please all attendees, esp. the young crowd. I was surprised at the number of children in the audience who apparently enjoyed the play. WE certainly need to nurture the young generation with traditions like Christmas Carol. I had not felt any Christmas spririt before I saw this play, caught up with a busy schedule and little money, however the seats were affordable and I found myself singing along with the carols and thoroughly enjoying the play. The Black Mark was that our own Clark Wilson played the Morton Organ as splendidly as ever before, at intermission and after the play yet he was not mentioned ANYWHERE on the program. This oversight should never have happened.
Very well done. Enjoyed the evening. Beautiful theater
This was the best adaptation we have ever seen. Scrooge was fantastic!! Singing and dancing absolutely professional. Please come back next year. We will be there!!
