  • A Christmas Carol was a great holiday show

We have seen NTC's production of A Christmas Carol before. The show was great before. I noticed some changes this time, which I think made the production even better. (I still wonder how they make Scrooge's bed move.)

by ISUgrad on 12/15/11Tilson Auditorium - Terre HauteRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I don't attend many events, but we are Christmas people. We loved the musical A Christmas Carol. The songs were wonderful and the sets were amazing. I would go again if it came back next year.

  • A Broadway quality production at a bargain price!

by MaggieTH on 12/15/11Tilson Auditorium - Terre HauteRating: 5 out of 5

What a wonderful show, from the staging, to the singing, to the actors. I have seen a lot of theater in NYC and London, and this production could easily stand with anything I've seen. There wasn't a bad actor or singer in the bunch and most were exceptional, especially the man playing Scrooge. Honestly, I couldn't say enough good things about it, just GO SEE IT if you get a chance.

  • Some how they always make it better

by SpaceAnn on 12/13/11Meadow Brook Theatre - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Thomas Mahard's (Scrooge) performance was absolutely delightful and entertaining; engaging. After his 1,081 performances in A Christmas Carol one can see how he takes ownership of his roll. Well Done ! Again ! All of the three spirits did a splendid job in those rolls, especially the spirit of Christmas Present, Paul Hopper. His laughter as Christmas Present was reminiscent of the original 1951 version of A Christmas Carol as seen on T.V. The Cratchit family captured the essence of what a family in the 1800 might have been like; makes me wish I could have been a Cratchit child growing up. The entire cast had chemistry and could not have been better. Thank you everyone ! I fell in love with A Christmas Carol the first time, again the second time, and all over again this time. It just keeps getting better ! Thank You all for your hard work ! And for putting me into the Christmas spirit, again ! I'll be back again next year for your 31st production.

I thought the acting by the students was excellent. Amazing they are able to take on such a performance with finals staring them in the face. Only criticism is there were a few voices that could have been projected a little more. My wife and I have been coming to the Christmas Carol performance At fisher Theatre for many years and enjoy it every bit as much as the Christmas Carol at the Guthrie in Mpls. Congratulations to all the performers for making our holiday season a little brighter.

Saturday's final play was truly engaging and inspiring. Outstanding performances by Jacob Marley, the 1st angel, and moderator #4.

  • A Christmas Carol is Great Fun

by LawyerM on 12/11/11Meadow Brook Theatre - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

This is our fifth time seeing this play, and the third with Thomas Mahard as Scrooge. I love this show, and especially Mr. Mahard and the actor who plays the roles of Ghost of Christmas Present, Fezziwig, and one of the charity solicitors. My only criticism is with the children: they're never loud enough, for which I fault the director. But this is a minor quibble with an otherwise fine piece.

  • Hysterical!

by SmyrnaTN on 12/9/11DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

I had no idea what was in store when we walked in - what a kick! This show was funny - the cast is so talented.

  • A Christmas Carol was *not* worth the money!!

by JMDKS on 12/8/11DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 1 out of 5

My family and I were very unhappy with the performance. The jokes were inappropriate for a family outing and we left at intermission. Do not spend your money on this performance!

  • Go see A Christmas Carol!

by Lori22 on 12/8/11DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Ira David Wood's "A Christmas Carol" was awesome! It is the same holiday story we all love, interjected with jokes and funny expressions from recent headlines & TV. Very entertaining! We all enjoyed it, from my 8 year old son to my 90 year old grandmother.

  • The best show in North Carolina!

by kstogner on 12/7/11DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

This show never fails to be the most entertaining show! Our family goes every year (10 people) I know the tickets are a little pricey, but A Christmas Carol is the start to our holiday season, not seeing it would be like not having a tree!
