  • A CHRISTMAS CAROL

    by operator1 on 11/20/12Meadow Brook Theatre - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

My husband & I took our three grand daugthers to the show ages 10, 9 & 6 and they just sat there staring at the stage in awe. It was super super super, I can't say enough about the show. One of my grand daugthers said"count me in for next year" I have been to a lot of shows as I come from NYC but this one was outstanding. Bravo,

  • An Experience You Will Never Forget

    by mcl99zz on 11/20/12Ford's Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

If visiting Ford's Theatre was not enough for it's amazing history, then wait until you see "A Christmas Carol" ! The play was superior in everyway. The actors appeared to enjoy the production every bit as much as the audience. The standing ovation at the end told it all and everyone was standing. Take the kids, the relatives, even that grumpy lady next door (after seeing this play, she will be so much happier) because it is a holiday joy not to be missed. The theatre itself is gorgeous. The museum must be seen. Go an hour early to appreciate it. To be able to actually see where Lincoln was shot was chilling.

  • Amazing as always!

    by TheaterLover99 on 11/20/12Ford's Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

A Christmas Carol was fabulous! I loved how the cast came out to greet everyone just before the show started. I am always so impressed with the attention to details at Ford's Theatre, including the sets, the costumes, the props, and the movements and facial expressions of the cast. This year is one of my favorite versions to date and I have been going to this production for 18 years. The cast was superb. I really liked the special effects, the way the ghosts were portrayed this year, and the cables to help two of them soar through the air! Well done! The children were all fabulous and the Bob and Mr. Scrooge were truly superb!! Kudos to the entire cast, our party of 4 all loved it!!

  • A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

    by soupman1951 on 11/19/12Ford's Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

A Christmas Carol by Dickens is my favorite fictional holiday story. It has great meaning & is relevant today. The cast & crew at this Ford's Theatre production were awesome , they made it a must see event for the holidays. My Wife & I were so happy we chose this experience to start off the season. In addition seeing this at Ford's Theatre was incredible. We were sitting a few seats away from the Box where President Abraham Lincoln saw his last performance. I would recomend this performance to anyone.

Ford's Theatre's A Christmas Carol was simply splendid. Every member of my family thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The adaption was perfectly fitted for a small theater and the interactions with the audience brought us right into the story. Bravo.

  • A lively Christmas Carol

by bachrack on 11/19/12Ford's Theatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

The play was very professionally done and the effects were excellent. BUT there were very loud noises and the Spirit of Christmas future was really scary! I think a warning of use of bright lights, loud noises and smoke would be advisable.

With 3 kids it can be hard to not spend $200 to go to a play. But this was a great play and affordable for our family. The production had an impressive set , and wonderful singers and actors. The special effects were incorporated well in to the show. The whole show was great and the theater really does not have a bad seat in the house. I will be be looking for other shows to take my family of 5 to.

by LVDJMSU on 12/25/11Meadow Brook Theatre - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

They did a fantastic job as always! I was born and raised in Rochester, MI and I have seen this show at Meadow Brook Theatre as a child and this year I was able to take my parents to the 30th Anniversary on the last show of the season! It was just as good as it was when I was a boy! Thank you to all the actors and actresses for keeping a wonderful tradition alive and well in Michigan!

I saw A Christmas Carol back in November with a friend and had to come back again and bring my mother and sister. It was a great way to spend time with the family and I would highly recommend it be part of any families holiday tradition.

  • A waste of good money!

by BooBoo1924 on 12/19/11DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 1 out of 5

My wife and I attended this play at the DPAC. The DPAC is a cool facility and I wish I could say the same about the play. This has to be the worst adaptation of A Christmas Carol that I’ve ever seen. It wasn't that the acting was bad it was the changes to the story line. Maybe we just missed this information when we booked tickets but we just hated it. The modern references were funny but it left us wondering what time period this play was really in! The thing that really did it in for us was the ghost of Christmas past being portrayed as a clown. That was just stupid...I really wish we could have gotten our money back but you live and learn.

  • A great new family tradition was started!

This was always recomended to me as a great show. I finally got tickets and will be going year after year from now on! Very good story, one minute laughing and the next your heart strings being pulled. Great acting and story choreography.
