Always look forward to this production to kick off the holidays
This is my first chance to see anything at this venue, and I found it to be very intimate. The acting was great, especially from the lead actors. I would definitely recommend seeing the show, especially at this venue.
symbolizing the movie version. The only criticism I'd have is, when the children spoke, they were very hard to hear or understand, and I was on the 3rd row. Other than that, the props & theatrics were spectacular.
Christmas caroling outstanding set the scene for transformative performance back the time old England and times of old. The story never gets old just gets better every time!
The experience was wonderful. Great singing and acting.
Been a while since we saw this show and it is better than ever. Prior to the curtain rising, they have period dressed carollers up on stage - very nice touch. Meadowbrook has had a lot of years to perfect this play and it shows. Everything is outstanding. I sometimes had trouble hearing a female or child speaking - voice projection wasn't that good. Probably difficult, but I wish they had amplification for some of the cast. Also, some parents brought young children - this is a pretty intense play. I realize the cast has 5th & 6th graders in it, so maybe that's an appropriate age. Anyway, great job on a classic.
I really enjoyed A Christmas Carol. From the beginning when they sang the Christmas carols with delightful voices to the whole show. They acted with enthusiasm and skill. Good performance!
This was an excellent performance. Every detail was covered and the performers were outstanding! This was my first time at this particular theatre. I had front row seats to the right. My mother is older and I am a bit handicapped so getting in the seat and out was difficult. We had to climb over. Those seats should just be roped off because it was a bit difficult to enjoy the entire aspect of the performance.
The best thing to do at Christmas. Loved it from start to finsh. This was our 4th time we've been there at Chistmas.
I thought the play was very good, the performers and sets were excellent. Knowing what I know now I would have gotten seats near the center rather than the side. With the side seats it was difficult to see the singers that were opening the play
I'm sorry to say & very disappointed I be came sick on Wed with Flu symptoms & felt I should not attend. I've wanted to see it for the last 30 years & for us Seniors, it was a huge waste of money!
The performance began with 8 cast members appearing in front of the stage curtain singing Christmas carols while the audience was being shown to their seats. Some of that was interactive and amusing as well as entertaining. Once the performance began, I couldn't take my eyes off the stage. The sets were perfect for each scene, very easy to understand all the dialog without straining to hear and the actors were excellent. Scrooge was outstanding! Let me repeat that because it bears repeating, Scrooge was outstanding. The actors portraying Christmas Past, Present and Future were well cast and the addition of young local actors really enhanced the holiday spirit of the production. I went with someone who has seen "A Christmas Carol"3 times over the years and she said this was the best of the best! Bravo Meadow Brook, I'll be sure to watch for future productions now that I know the caliber of shows being offered!
Super sets, beautiful costumes and terrific acting! A Christmas Carol at Meadowbrook Theater encapsulates the Charles Dickens story and enhances it!
We have seen a Christmas Carol at Meadowbrook many times. We Usually go Thanksgiving weekend to kick off the Christmas season. It never fails to amaze the family. Wonderful experience and the caroling is magnificent.
It felt a little awkward at the end to be asked for donations so aggressively. Tickets were not cheap.
From the wonderful pre-show carolers through the entire show our family ages 8-13 and much older all equally enjoyed this very professional show. Entertainment, fun and a meaningful story in a perfectly sized theatre.
We have attended several productions at this theater and this production has been the best so far. The sets, actors and overall production is top notch for sure. The actor who played Ebenezer is nothing short of amazing! I would see this again and again.
This is a truly unique play in a setting that genuinely captures the holiday season and Christmas at its heart. The set, cast, special effects, and musical story line are brilliantly coordinated to create a surreal experience. Everyone should experience this at least once every holiday season! Don’t miss out!
Great venue and performance of this play. Actors were excellent. A show that should not be missed.
