  • Christmas Carol

by D. G. on 12/14/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

This was a fantastic performance. They did a great job of adding the COVID situation in a fun way. The third ghost was not as funny as years past but still a great overall show. I always recommend everyone attend each year.

  • The show is always fabulous but I wish the acoustics.

by Golfer on 12/14/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

Love the venue except for the acoustics. Couldn’t here some of the lines. The leg room and space in the seating is so much better than the DPAC. I wish more shows would come to Raleigh. I refuse to go to the DPAC because I feel like a sardine. Also, a lot of no shows in good seats that were not available online. Bring more to this venue.

  • ALMOST ENJOYABLE!

by D. B. on 12/14/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

Unfortunately Christmas Carol turned the corner to political satire.....the 'Covid Coffin' segment drew the line for us, ( 8 family members ) . We'll search for a new venue next year.

  • Great Play

by Tag on 12/14/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

I felt very safe as we had to show vaccine cards and wear masks during the performance. The show was fantastic as always! A great way to get in the holiday spirit!

  • Silly show

by J. W. on 12/14/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

High quality production. Fine for kids. Mostly a comedy with lots of songs. Dumb/silly jokes throughout so difficult to get into the story. Actors often break character to talk to audience.

  • They Politicized A Christmas Carol

by Lauren on 12/14/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 1 out of 5

This was terrible. My husband and I purchased our tickets to have a good time, escape the worldly chaos and enjoy the message of a Christmas Carol. The entire script of the play was rewritten. The Christmas spirit lived in the vaccine, and the entire message they pushed their agenda of vaccines, hatred of former president, and the ghost of Christmas future was a transgender nurse who walked Scrooge up in a casket until he decided he wanted the vaccine. My husband and I are disgusted. Do not waste your time with this

  • Seating Too Close

by Bump on 12/14/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

I had no issues with Ticketmaster aside from the seating. With the virus still making the headlines, I would’ve loved to see space separation in the seating and ever other row unoccupied. The staff at the venue did an excellent job making sure everyone kept in their mask.

  • Great Show but caught off guard with Christmas future.

by MW on 12/14/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Show was fantastic as usual but the audience got a little quiet with the surprise Christmas future with dying from Covid. I think it was done in poor taste and caught the audience off guard. People have a choice about vaccination. I am vaccinated but I believe this was in poor taste. The audience got very quiet with this scene. I like the covid protocols in place. But not so much with the people working there telling people how to wear their mask while drinking their beverage (and observation....wasn't me personally). That was a little over the top.

  • Extremely Disappointed

by TJ on 12/13/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 1 out of 5

We did not go to the performance due to Very discriminatory COViD-19 protocols. (Having to provide proof of being fully vaccinated or provided a negative PCR Covid-19 result) The worst part is when we bought the tickets there was no mention of these discriminatory protocols. We will never be going to another performance at this venue!

  • Theatre in the Park A Christmas Carol

by Bill S on 12/13/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Once again superb production updated to reflect current events. Very well done! Humorous but the story and its message is preserved! A must see.

  • Theatre in the Park - A Christmas Carol

by G on 12/13/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Ira David Wood's adaptation of the classic A Christmas Carol never disappoints, this years show was the best. They mix the traditional story line with modern day topics masterfully. It does not matter if you have never attended or you if attend annually you will be enthralled in the performance. Great job cast and crew.

  • hillarious, dissapointed, sentimental

by Hi5hams on 12/13/21Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

The christmas carol in itself was funny and i undersatnd why it is a tradition. The parts that were special were definitly special especially the ghost of christmas past and the end with scrooge and Tiny Tim. The pop culture was funny and went completly over the top with Christmas future. Yea it was funny but at same point it was time to get back to the story. Christmas future was a Drag nurse givingn people shots for the hum bugs. at that point you were to hard (probably making a statment but people came to see a chritmas show to be reminded of what is on the outside world, but still it ruined the story at that point). The ending was special, but it was so close the Christmas future, current situation that most of us would like to forget for a few.hours that it kinda left a taste of disappointment and Christmas cheer

  • Another wonderful evening!

  • It was a wonderful experience.

It was good to be back in the theater again! A big thank you to Ira David Wood and company for a great performance. Just need to give people a better warning...like in the parking lot that they need ID and Covid cards before they get in line.

  • It was a wonderfully delightful night. Loved it!
