WICKED is a Tony-winning sensation that has been defying gravity and delighting Broadway audiences since 2003. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the fantastical prequel to The Wizard of Oz was nominated for 10 Tony Awards after it opened at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City, and won three, including Best Actress for Idina Menzel, who played the original Elphaba. The musical’s first national tour opened in 2005 and ever since, WICKED’s touring production has criss-crossed North America offering theatergoers one short day in the Emerald City filled with magic, music and the ”untold true story of the Witches of Oz.” The second national tour — known as the “Munchkinland Tour” — has been an open-ended production since 2009 and now stars Olivia Valli as Elphaba and Celia Hottenstein as Glinda.

I had seen Wicked in NYC several years back with friends so when I saw it was coming to Knoxville on tour I had to take my mom and daughter! It was amazing! Olivia Valli as Elphaba was perfection! I laughed, I cried! I’d see it a million more times! Thanks for an amazing show!
Amazing! This was a bucket list item and a must see. It did not disappoint at all. I recommend everyone go see Wicked.
This was amazing from the very first line to the very end. The performers were unbelievable!! This was a great twist to the Wizard Of Oz. A must see!
Even my 7 year old daughter loved it. It was hands down one of my favorites.
Fantastic set costuming, lighting, choreography, acting and music. I am a theater arts teacher. So I know you want an honest opinion. The only thing that was frustrating to me was that I could not understand the lyrics or maybe I should say could not hear the lyrics. The actors were enunciating very well and I know some of the songs contained many fast words so I'm not sure if it was the balance between the orchestra and vocal -maybe with the orchestra being a little louder. I was sitting orchestra center row M. I really enjoyed the performance!
My wife and I greatly enjoyed the performance. Every time we see "Wicked", we notice new things we'd not seen before. This was our first visit to the spectacular Tennessee Theater, although our seats on the third row did limit our view of the entire stage. Also, "Glinda"did a phenomenal job as did Madame Morrible. Our previous viewings had been in NYC at the Gershwin, so this performance did leave me a bit wanting for more. Not sure if the stage was smaller, the cast was fewer or the acoustics less impactful, but this version of "Wicked"lacked some of the volume and breath-taking vocals we'd experienced previously. To the defense of the cast, this was their second performance of the day and closing out a couple of weeks in Knoxville. Overall it was a wonderful evening seeing our favorite performance!
Loved every minute of the show! The cast was perfect and made me laugh and cry. I would recommend seeing this show to anyone who loves being entertained!
The show was exceptional. The singers dancers and actors were absolutely wonderful. Had a great night and hope to see it again sometime.

As a surprise for my wife's birthday, we went to see Wicked. Being completely unfamiliar with the show, I was pleasantly surprised at the music, acting, and stage presentation. Tremendous performance and the Tennessee Theatre is always the perfect play to see a show.
I understand why this show sells out everywhere. Wicked was such a great show! I enjoyed every minute of it. The music, performers, storyline, sets, and lights were all top notch! I would buy another ticket to see it again!
