The Irish are coming! The Irish are coming! Northern Irish dance-punk trio Two Door Cinema Club have stormed the urban scene with their fresh indie new-wave sound. Think of them as your ticket to catchy dance music without the guilt.
If you've been to any cool-kid parties with plenty of PBR or watched a Microsoft Outlook commercial you've heard Two Door Cinema Club. The debut single "Something Good Can Work" was originally released in 2009 on a trend-setting compilation from fashion house/record label Maison Kitsunè. If you can't remember it catch it on Youtube (it has nearly 15 million views).
Following in the footsteps of French dance-pop phenomena Phoenix and '80s icon Duran Duran, Two Door Cinema Club recorded their debut 2010 album Tourist History at Eastcote Studios in London. Mixed by Phillip Zdar, his vision was to punch up the beat with rich bass and foot-stomping rhythm. While on tour with Alt-J, Chvrches, Peace and St Lucia, stopping a venues like Fillmore (Philadelphia), their live sets turned into impromptu dance parties, not even the most passive fans couldn't resist the groove.
Their sophomore album Beacon, produced by Jacknife Lee was released in September 2012 and reached No. 17 on the U.S. Billboard 200 with singles" Sleep Alone" and "Sun." Well thought hooks, good beats, and fearless when it comes to having fun, Two Door Cinema Club is going to have many honorary members wanting to join in.
I loved this high energy concert. It was a beautiful night to attend this concert at Express Live, which is an outdoor venue. The crowd was respectful and the opening band, Blossoms, performed well.
One of the best concerts I have ever been to!!! Two Door Cinema Club is even better live than they are on their albums.
The opening act was good and fit well with TDCC's style. The show itself was astounding. Clear crisp sound, beautiful light effects, and so much energy. Everyome was dancing and singing and enjoying themselves. I would definitely see them again. Even my husband who is a bit picky about bands and music said they put on great show and he would see them again. If TDCC is you kind of music, see them live. Videos online don't do these guys justice.
The singing was great, the musicians were great, the visual effects and lighting were great, everything was absolutely great.
Great band with a lot of energy and stage presence. They are all awesome musicians with a lot of chemistry. Broods opened and they were also great!

Two door cinema club and the broods were absolutely amazing! I was at the barricade and it was so much fun! Both bands performed so well and I can not wait until they come back!

The show stared right on time, and the Broods set the tone just right! The venue was, while being very inconvenient to get to, was clean and professional. And once the main band started playing, the night was amazing! I'm so glad I found this band before the tickets went on sale. They sell out FAST!
This was such a fun show. The energy throughout the venue was amazing. They played a lot of their old songs and some from their new album.
I fell in love with Two Door Cinema club back in 2010 and I was really excited to see them on tour. I prefer their earlier albums to their most recent and most of their setlist was from their older albums. They had a cool stage setup, these four tall LED things, and there was a ton of energy in the room, it was sold out too. I really like it when artists talk to the audience, talking about random things or how they came about writing a song. Two Door didn't really do that, which is why I deducted one star. If you like them and have a chance to see them I really recommend you do.
TDCC sound very much like the studio albums, great voice range and guitar sound. If you like their music you will love the show!
I am still speechless, 3 days after an amazing show. I was blown away by the kindness of the people and of the band, and Two Door Cinema Club is brilliant live.
Amazing high energy show with an amazing set list of 18 songs. Only Played 4 songs from new album so they mixed in a lot of their classics. Greatest live performance I've seen since Florence and the machine, Phoenix and Arcade Fire.
One of the best shows I've ever seen! They played all their older songs and some off their new album. The band had everybody dancing!
So much great energy, great selection in songs! They've been my favorite band since I was 14 and now at 20 years old I finally got to see them. Totally worth the wait.
First of all loved the venue because it's wasn't just a standard floor. There were slight levels to it. And two door cinema was amazing!!!! They are honestly one of the best shows I've ever been too! I can't wait to see them again. You won't be disappointed.
We came to see our favorite band Broods who opened for Two Door Cinema Club. Broods of course was AMAZING! Two Door, as fans we met in line called them were very good! We enjoyed the event very much!
First off, the venue choice, Fox Theater, was very nice. I've never been to Oakland before this concert and I was weary of the danger level but the area around Fox is pretty modernized. As with the show, Two Door played and sang very well and professionally. They knew how to keep things exciting. The visuals were very nice as well. The lights were strobing for some of the show so people with epilepsy beware. The only negative is that it took them 30 minutes to setup after their opener performed for an hour. It honestly was worth it so I'll keep my rating at five stars. No regrets here.
Two Door Cinema Club is an ultimate live band, which was proven once more during this concert. The set list of 18 songs went by in a flash of fun. The atmosphere in the packed Aragon Ballroom was electric from the first to the very last song. I have been to several hundred concerts in my life and this one is definitely in top 2-3% of all my concert going experiences. All three of their albums are packed with energetic, honest and clever songs of supreme quality. It is really not that difficult for them to put on a great show without any need to resort to gimmicks, extended guitar riffs or drum exhibitions, since they can just storm through the selection of songs from all three of their fantastic albums (as they did) and leave us wishing they could play for another two hours.
