THE AIRBORNE TOXIC EVENT IN CONCERT:
Back in 2008, the Airborne Toxic Event infiltrated the airwaves with their driving rock number "Sometime Around Midnight," generating significant buzz and receiving the seal of approval from none other than U2. Today, the Airborne Toxic Event leave fans awestruck with lush viola melodies and catchy guitar riffs during their fierce live shows. The band's performances wouldn't be complete without signature hits like "Changing" as they treat audiences to a fan-oriented show on their exciting string of 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Los Angeles native Mikel Jollett began penning songs after a series of unfortunate life events occurred in 2006, coincidentally meeting drummer Daren Taylor around the same time and thus forming the Airborne Toxic Event. Through mutual friends and chance encounters, keyboardist Steven Chen, upright bassist Noah Harmon, and viola player Anna Bulbrook were added to the lineup, resulting in the band's signature orchestral rock sound. Their 2008 debut album was met with favorable reviews and spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart, followed by extensive touring and regular late-night talk show appearances. 2011's All At Once peaked at No. 5 on the US Rock charts and 2013's Such Hot Blood followed soon after, both receiving acclaim among popular music blogs and magazines. The Airborne Toxic Event packs a serious punch live and are sure to have audiences rocking out at their festival dates in 2014.

They sounded amazing. Bowery Ballroom is an intimate venue for a show.
Travelling from Montreal to see one of my favorite bands at a bucket list venue in NYC was better than imagined. The Bowery Ballroom was the perfect intimate setting for The Airborne Toxic Event's full album set celebrating 15 years since it's release. The new music was just so, so Mikel. Full of emotion; sang from deep inside his soul, with every ounce of energy, passion, anger and love he has. The full band gave everything they had and fans gave back singing all the words, dancing and screaming. Cannot wait for the new album release, and the chance to see them again!
Really great band! We have been dying to see them for years but they never come to Florida. We decided to come up to the Bowery Ballroom NYC...what an experience! Great live band..love them even more now!
This was my second time seeing TATE. They bring such an amazing energy. Cannot wait for the next time!
I built my trip to NYC from Nunavut, Canada’s Arctic, around this band and these 4 shows. I went to all 4 and each night was like a whole new experience. This band had an energy and charisma that’s beyond compare, on top of the unbelievable music, and those lyrics.. these folks have been me favourite band for over a decade now, and they did not disappoint! It was my first time seeing them, and I’ll be availing of any and every other chance I get! Just WOW!
Great energy and loved the small venue. The band was at the top of their game.
Even with a few instruments mishaps they still pulled off a great show
It is IMPOSSIBLE to contact the venue, Bowery Ballroom. I had two simple questions leading up to the show - 1 - what their bag policy was - I was coming from a nearby volleyball game with a gym bag. Apologies if this was buried in their FAQ on their website, it's just easier to speak with a live person. 2 - I needed to know the set times (to see whether I needed to leave the aforementioned volleyball game early to make it in time for the show). The phone number they listed is useless. I tried social media as well, totally ghosted. To make things even worse, when I was at the venue for the show, I asked a member of their staff "hey, in the future if I want to know the set times or have another random question, is there a working number I can call". He told me to go fly a kite and walked away. The bartender, who was polite, wound up apologizing for this other guy's conduct. So net net, great band, combative venue. It doesn't take much to answer two simple questions, not sure why they have to keep their contact info in a black box. Soooo frustrating.
I discovered them a couple years ago and instantly fell in love! It was a dream of mine to see them live and when I finally went I had so much fun, the show was great, the presence was great and it was such a cool experience. You can tell that everyone in the band loves each other as well as everyone in the crowd. They also did not disappoint with the set list—it was amazing overall.
Great venue. The sound was perfect. Such a fun band live that sound even better live!!
