About

THE AIRBORNE TOXIC EVENT IN CONCERT:

Back in 2008, the Airborne Toxic Event infiltrated the airwaves with their driving rock number "Sometime Around Midnight," generating significant buzz and receiving the seal of approval from none other than U2. Today, the Airborne Toxic Event leave fans awestruck with lush viola melodies and catchy guitar riffs during their fierce live shows. The band's performances wouldn't be complete without signature hits like "Changing" as they treat audiences to a fan-oriented show on their exciting string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Los Angeles native Mikel Jollett began penning songs after a series of unfortunate life events occurred in 2006, coincidentally meeting drummer Daren Taylor around the same time and thus forming the Airborne Toxic Event. Through mutual friends and chance encounters, keyboardist Steven Chen, upright bassist Noah Harmon, and viola player Anna Bulbrook were added to the lineup, resulting in the band's signature orchestral rock sound. Their 2008 debut album was met with favorable reviews and spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart, followed by extensive touring and regular late-night talk show appearances. 2011's All At Once peaked at No. 5 on the US Rock charts and 2013's Such Hot Blood followed soon after, both receiving acclaim among popular music blogs and magazines. The Airborne Toxic Event packs a serious punch live and are sure to have audiences rocking out at their festival dates in 2014.

    Another great show by Airborne!

by jazzshuz3 on 9/18/09The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

Seen this band about seven times now and they never disappoint. They've definitely upped their performance over the last year and a half and it makes seeing them so worth it - even seeing them over and over. Loved the intimate, stripped down songs in the middle of the set - really nice addition to the show. The sound wasn't that great at times, but they were unfazed. Definitely looking forward to their next show and their new album!

    Airborne Toxic Event

by kevinbmw on 8/9/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

The Airborne Toxic Event was a good concert. I still laugh thinking about how the violinist fell off the stage, not once but twice.

    Airborne Toxic Event was Awesome!

by Jacquita on 8/7/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

The concert was great...played songs from album and a couple that I didn't know. I thought the show was way too short though--I don't think they even played for a full hour--I didn't think I'd be leaving at 10:30. Would definitely go see them again!

    Airbourne Toxic Event

by Melver on 8/5/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

The show was great!!! Loved the retro feel, and the band's enthusiasm.. The crowd did not seem familiar with the tunes. They need more radio play. The encore was the way the entire show should have been. They are young and excited and their music is powerfull with emotion. I can't wait for more.

Airborne Toxic Event - Best New Band in the World

by FanOfGreatRock on 8/5/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

This is the best new band in the world today. Incredibly high energy from five amazing musicians. They have the poise and musical chops of a band that has been performing together for many years. Mikel is a confident front man who establishes an immediate connection with the crowd. His singing and guitar playing are spot on. Anna is an incredible violinist/multi-instrumentalist and a great visual treat as well. Steven plays guitar in a style reminiscent of Johnny Marr and Bernard Butler, but taken to an even higher level. Noah and Daren are a formidable rhythm section. They bristle with talent. And let's not forget the songs! Sometime Around Midnight is the first big hit, but their debut album is great from start to finish. Please do yourself a huge favor and go see this band when they play in your area.

Usually seeing a band live will make or break them for me. The Airborne Toxic Event show at the HOB Cleveland secured me as a forever fan. The music, lyrics and singing were fantastic, but also the band is a fun group that is complete fun to watch.

Just like hanging out with friends!

by Zips95 on 8/5/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

I loved the show last night at the House of Blues. I can't tell you the last time I went to a concert where the band smiled and laughed the whole time. I thought the crowd was very, very lame. I guess that was because they didn't know the group's music. I am so thankful that they put Cleveland on their tour. I can't wait to see them again. What was with all of the high school kids? Was there a discount on tickets for them? Just curious.

    One Hell of a Show!

by MK88 on 8/5/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

The Airborne Toxic Event put on a great show full of energy. This is one of those bands that doesn't cheat their audience nor rely on heavy production on their cds to sound good. I purchased these tickets on a whim and I am so glad I took the chance! I'll definitely be seeing them again!
