ROYAL BLOOD IN CONCERT:

In just a few short years, British garage outfit Royal Blood has gone from a little-known upstart to a sought-after touring partner for acts like Pixies and The Arctic Monkeys. The key to their success? One of the most entertaining, high-octane live shows in rock music. Royal Blood is a duo, but the massive wall of sound they create in concert is the stuff of arena glory, all blaring guitars and crashing cymbals. Add to that the bluesy wail of lead vocalist Mike Kerr and catchy tracks like "Little Monster" and you've got yourself one heck of a live show. Already big stars in the UK, Royal Blood continue to grow their stateside fanbase with rollicking performances on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Royal Blood was formed in 2012 in Brighton, UK, by singer Mike Kerr and drummer Matt Swan. Swan was replaced by the band's current drummer Ben Thatcher, and in 2013 the new duo made their debut with the heavy-hitting single "Out of the Black". The song launched the band to prominence virtually overnight, topping the UK Rock Chart and earning them a nomination for the BBC Sound of 2014 award. Royal Blood topped the charts again in 2014 with their second single "Little Monster", which they supported with several high-profile shows with the Arctic Monkeys. An up-and-coming act with unparalleled energy in concert, Royal Blood continue to rock fans on their must-see tours.

    So Much Fun!

by TL on 11/29/23The Van Buren - Phoenix

Such a badass band. This was my second time seeing them and it was just as exciting as the first! They are very interactive with the audience (especially Ben) and always put on a great show. I love that they play in smaller venues so the concert feels more intimate. Love this band. 10/10 recommend šŸ«¶šŸ»

    Incendiary Live Act

by Come on Over on 11/24/23South Side Ballroom - Dallas

Royal Blood brought the goods right from the jump and never let up over an hour and half set. Mixing in the great new stuff with their awesome past catalog they replicate the LPs flawlessly. I have seen 20 plus shows this year and this was the 3rd best only behind Clutch and QOTSA. Cannot wait to see RB again soon.

    Sick Show, Great Sound

by Marna on 11/24/23South Side Ballroom - Dallas

Royal Blood puts on an awesome show! They don't do a lot of talking, you can tell they are there to play. The sound is always great, much better than most bands. They played a lot of their new stuff and you could tell they had a lot of fun! I can't wait for them to come back to town!!!

    Phenomenal, per usual.

by Keaton on 11/24/23South Side Ballroom - Dallas

This was my 7th Royal Blood concert, and they get better every time. If you like rock or rock-adjacent music, do NOT miss seeing these guys live, you will not regret having your face melted by their sound and showmanship. Opening act Hot Wax was incredible as well, Iā€™d never heard them before the show but they now have a solid fan!

    Cool

by JP on 11/20/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

First time seeing RB and the setlist was solid. Very frustrating lights though. They blasted 1000 tiny suns into the crowd all night. Didnā€™t add anything good and i found it actually made the experience rather difficult to take it. It wore me out and gave me a headache. Too bad - loved several of the tracks! Almost 5-6 came from the S/T album.

    Amazing sound from a 2-piece!

by BC Girl on 11/19/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Royal Blood put on an amazing show!! For just a bassist and a drummer the sound they create is amazing. In concert they sound just like they do on the radio, or better. I'd say 9/10 experience overall with 1 star removed due to the overly bright flashing lights.

    Even better than I expected

by Dubunin on 11/16/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Discovered Royal Blood a couple years ago and have been hooked ever since. Could not wait for this show and was not disappointed. We go to a lot of concerts and were surprised to walk away and feel like these 2 guys put on the best show weā€™ve seen all year. Canā€™t wait till they come through the area again.

Great show and amazingly clean and tight rocks sound from this dynamic duo. Amazing volume of complexity from two guys!

stadium talent in a small venue

by KT on 11/16/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Full disclosure - my #1 and #2 favorite live bands are Rammstein and Muse. Theatrical, bombastic, with complex arrangements and dynamic musical ranges. Conversely, Royal Blood are *pure music* and the entertainment experience is still completely engrossing. Mike Kerr is a lyrical genius, even more so as he opens up about addiction and recovery. The melodies he creates - with a bass guitar! - are better with each listen. Ben Thatcher's frontman-level charisma behind the kit (and in the crowd) is icing on the cake. The two of them are so completely in sync and the effect is absolutely what a live rock show should be. The Paramount Theater is a gorgeous venue with great acoustics - but is inadequate for the crowd that Royal Blood plays to. The seating is miserable for a show like this. This band deserves the big arenas and so do their fans!

    Amazing crowd

by Mr. Jackson on 11/14/23Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Only had one person in front of me be obnoxious and a great experience otherwise; which I would call a win, when you compare the possibilities of what could have gone wrong.

    Royal Blood Rocks!

by MW on 11/13/23The Wiltern - Los Angeles

I've seen these guys a couple of times now, and won't miss them any time they come to town. One of my favorite live bands! They freaking bring it every time!

Good performance but show execution could be better

by Meep on 11/13/23Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The band performed very well, and one of my issues is due to the room acoustics, the other issue is lighting. The sound in the room was muddy and almost uninhabitable with the kick drum and bass fighting for dominance in the mix, which often overshadowed the vocals. Thatā€™s most likely due to room acoustics. The lighting behind the band was often blinding white and pointed directly at the audience. I left early due to discomfort caused by the lighting.
