ROYAL BLOOD IN CONCERT:
In just a few short years, British garage outfit Royal Blood has gone from a little-known upstart to a sought-after touring partner for acts like Pixies and The Arctic Monkeys. The key to their success? One of the most entertaining, high-octane live shows in rock music. Royal Blood is a duo, but the massive wall of sound they create in concert is the stuff of arena glory, all blaring guitars and crashing cymbals. Add to that the bluesy wail of lead vocalist Mike Kerr and catchy tracks like "Little Monster" and you've got yourself one heck of a live show. Already big stars in the UK, Royal Blood continue to grow their stateside fanbase with rollicking performances on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Royal Blood was formed in 2012 in Brighton, UK, by singer Mike Kerr and drummer Matt Swan. Swan was replaced by the band's current drummer Ben Thatcher, and in 2013 the new duo made their debut with the heavy-hitting single "Out of the Black". The song launched the band to prominence virtually overnight, topping the UK Rock Chart and earning them a nomination for the BBC Sound of 2014 award. Royal Blood topped the charts again in 2014 with their second single "Little Monster", which they supported with several high-profile shows with the Arctic Monkeys. An up-and-coming act with unparalleled energy in concert, Royal Blood continue to rock fans on their must-see tours.

This band gets better and better every time I see them live. Absolute PERFECT sound. What a performance. They are flawless whether in a small club, a medium-sized venue like Wiltern, an indoor arena, or full on stadium. My favorite live act!
The high energy of Royal Blood was magnetic and infectious for a fantastic night of great music. They are always so good live, and they were exceptional this nice Fall evening. The beautiful theatre, the great helpful staff made this night so much fun, along with the great fans who showed up to make it the best night ever. Best night all around!!
While I enjoyed the Setlist and the performance, as usual, although it was lacking a little tiny something, their light show shining into the crowds eyes, especially up in the balcony, was so annoying. I had to keep my eyes closed for a lot of the show because it hurt so much. They really need to fix that. We don’t want to be blinded we want to watch you guys perform.
Drove 4 hours from Reno and oh so worth it! Opening act Hot Wax was great, and Royal Blood was ON FIRE! And the Fox Theater is so cool and freindly, overall amazing experience.
The energy was amazing the whole time, it was so so so much fun, HIGHLY recommend going
This was the 2nd time I have seen Royal Blood and they absolutely killed it (AGAIN)! They played an amazing set, I will see them every time they play in the Philly area! It was a pretty good mix of old and new songs. The Fillmore is a great venue also. My husband and I stood near the back, we could see everything and the sound was excellent. Plenty of bars to grab drinks without waiting too long, and I didn't even wait in line for the restroom either. All in all it was an amazing show!
The venue was great and the show was even better. Royal Blood was phenomenal and the warmup band Bad Nerves was good too! Kudos to Bad Nerves for sticking around their merch and signing for fans! That’s how you build a fan base!
Awesome show. Great song selection and energy all night long. Can’t wait to see them again.
Haven't seen a bad concert at the Fillmore yet! Ticket prices for the venue are reasonable and the drinks are delicious. Wish they had specials though.
Royal Blood were fantastic! Melodic hard rock. Mike does a great job as bass and vocals, while using various effects pedals to create a unique sound. Ben is a master with the drums. Hard to believe that there are only two members of this band. So great to see young artists who are true musicians. Bad Nerves opened for them and they were a fun punk band! Great songs. Would see either groups anytime they come around!
Great band and venue. Had a great time, Royal Blood really knows how to work the crowd effortlessly.
First of all, the opening act Bad Nerves is a good band and they would have deserved better sound. Royal Blood's show started at 9:00 PM sharp and the set ended at about 10:00 PM. The show itself was great and the sound was excellent. They are a tight unit and a couple of occasional guest musicians compensated for the basic bass & drum format which could have gotten a bit tedious (it never did). The light show was well done with no extra frills such as video presentations but they were not necessary, especially since the set was rather short. Overall, a very good time.
Incredible sound. Amazing. I also love the rockn roll attitude. I want to see more of this.
Fillmore Theater was an excellent venue. Organized and fast entry…very impressed. Royal Blood was amazing!! Thank you!
Such an awesome band!! So glad I get to see them in a smaller venue to get a more intimate experience before they hopefully start gaining more fans!
Great performance by them and their opening band. High energy, interacted with the crowd and very talented musicians!!!
The title says it all, these guys are phenomenal live and I couldn’t be happier that I saw them in such an intimate setting like the Pageant. I will make it a point to see them anytime they are in my town!!!
I love Royal Blood. I wish I was closer so i had a chance to get Ben’s drumsticks, but being on the balcony near the stage was actually awesome! I can see them up close, and still playing the whole concert in my mind. The small venue made the experience better than it would have been in a larger venue.
Great show. I am a bit biased as coming from England I am partial to English bands. High energy and great tunes.
