NEEDTOBREATHE have spent over two decades developing a unique sound that blends elements of rock, country and Christian music. The South Carolina band was formed in 1998 by brothers Bear and Bo Rinehart. They expanded the outfit into a quartet and released a string of independent projects before debuting their first major label effort, Daylight, in 2006. NEEDTOBREATHE’s sophomore album The Heat (2007) marked the group’s first placement on the Billboard 200 and earned the group their first No. 1 on the Christian Airplay chart with the single, “Washed by the Water.” Their 2009 follow-up The Outsiders elevated the band, reaching gold certification from the RIAA, while 2011’s The Reckoning marked more crossover success after notching their first No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums chart. With 2014’s Rivers in the Wasteland, NEEDTOBREATHE broke into the Hot 100 thanks to the Gavin DeGraw collaborative song “Brother.” The single “Multiplied” led to the band’s first Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. NEEDTOBREATHE reached a career peak at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 2016’s Hard Love. In 2020, the group announced the departure of Bo Rinehart and have since released three studio albums as a quintet with Bear, Seth Bolt, Josh Lovelace, Randall Harris and Tyler Burkum.

Every seat has a great view. The venue is much smaller than the images convey. The seats are small and borderline uncomfortable. I’m 5’ 9’, 220lbs and I just barely made it through without blood clots forming in both legs. The show itself was fantastic, but 2 songs too long. I had to leave early.
It’s about time these two bands linked up!! Performances were incredible and exactly what we hoped. They give it their all, as usual. Dancing and singing down on the floor with the common folk as they usually do. I wish they played more songs together bc I love everything both bands put out there.
Top tier band with a consistently great live show. Would recommend over and over
One of there best shows to date! The set list was perfection.
Judah and the Lion were an awesome opening act! Would definitely pay to see them again! I enjoyed Needtobreathe except the fact they didn’t sing the biggest song that put them on the map many yrs ago. “something beaitiful” I was very much looking forward to watching it performed live. Otherwise they were decent act, just know that AcDC wouldn’t play a show without singing back in black!
Brought my 13 year old son and his two friends. We had tickets for SRO in second tier. The back row of seats was situated a foot higher than where we were standing, so when people stood we were looking at the middle of their backs (which was the entire concert). We spent $55 per ticket and couldn’t see a darn thing. These tickets should not be sold or it should have said “view completely obscured”.
I had no idea who the opening act was going to be but Judah and the Lion was phenomenal. Their energy was unmatched and so much fun. I loved the positive messages. Needtobreathe was over the top as well. One of my favorite bands who knows how to rock!
Needtobreathe is hands down the the hardest playing band you’ll ever see. They always bring the energy and leave everything on the stage. Do yourself a favor and go see them live!
Great show beginning to end. Loved the acoustic portion. Venue was very good.
NEEDTOBREATHE knows how to put on a GREAT show. They are so engaging, sound amazing live, and interact with the crowd unlike other artists I’ve seen live. Their set, lights and sound are all top notch. The Anthem is a new favorite venue to see a show! Beautiful inside and out. Not one line to get in, purchase drinks or use restroom. Unheard of at a concert!!!
I never leave reviews, especially bad ones, but this one is necessary. Let me start with the good. Judah and the Lion were excellent. Great entertainers, high-energy, and most importantly, true to themselves. Anthem is an awesome venue; the staff is fantastic. NEED TO BREATHE was not good at all. I'm not sure who they are trying to be. It was bizarre. They moved between pop country, outlaw country, pop rock, Ted Talks, infomercials, 80's pop, and folk singers in an awkward fashion that screamed; WE'RE SELL OUTS! WE'LL DO ANYTHING FOR CASH. In the middle of the show, they did an infomercial that included a video of Dog the Bounty Hunter, Carrie Underwood, and other sell-outs doing fist pumps. I'm serious. They even had a QR code for the audience to donate to a charity for foster kids (which is a significant cause; I'm just not sure of the charity) and performed a song to accompany it. The crowd felt as weird about the whole thing as we did. It was embarrassing. My husband and I left early (side note: I have NEVER left a concert early), and so did a lot of others. It's super disappointing all around and a massive waste of money and time. I do not recommend going to their show and likely will never listen to them again. They used to be SUCH a great, genuine band.
The Anthem is a great venue and NEEDTOBREATH crushed it on Friday night. AV was fantastic!
NEEDTOBREATHE has officially made the leap into full on rock stars, and that is not a bad thing. The music and musicianship has always been there. Now the stage show and production have grown to match. Incredible visuals, top-grade lighting, excellent sound system, and a fair amount of choreographed experiences during the show. Worth seeing anytime and every time they are in town.
What a great night! The concert started on time and the show was incredible, a lot a dancing, singing and a good time. They even got us water! I didn’t want the night to end!
Great venue and FANTASITC BAND! The Anthem is one of my favorite venues and NEEDTOBREATHE is my ULTIMATE BAND.
NeedToBreathe was excellent but the venue was oversold and crowded. Not bad as the Fillmore in Silver Spring. I felt bad for short people that couldn’t see anything since it was so packed.
We have seen this band 20+ times……they bring it each and every time! More energy each show! Love the opener as well!
Great concert with Judah & The Lion and Needtobreathe, already booked my tickets for their spring tour! The Anthem is an incredible venue, already looking forward to a return trip!
The four of us have seen N2B multiple times as they are one of our favorite bands. We all felt like the visuals were way too much and actually detracted from the band and their amazing music. We love their music. We didn’t expect to watch movies on the Caves tour! Give us back just the music!
