NeedToBreathe astounds
by EauClairedriver on 3/21/10First Avenue - MinneapolisNeedToBreathe rocks with melodic charm and displays their virtuosity in a wonderful show at 1st Avenue on Saturday, March 20. This first day of spring was a very appropriate way to start off the season... a season of renewal and creative zest. I have enjoyed watching NoB over the past couple of years, most recently at Summerfest in Milwaukee, but this show beats them all. The only unfortunate neglect was the failure to perform the song ‘Hurricane,’ which I believe is encore material. However, I was not left disappointed, especially when the entire band climbed the stairs and performed a song in front of the entire audience sitting below as a grand swan song to complete the evening, especially since this was performed directly in front of me. The other bands, Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers and Graham Colton added a perfect complement to the music of the headliners. It was a great show and confirms that venues like 1st Avenue are necessary for music to continue to live on this world and for the bands that performed there on a Saturday evening to astonish the crowd of satisfied fans.
