About

Raised on the Bakersfield honky tonk of Buck Owens and traditional country like Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, Dwight Yoakam has created more than a dozen studio albums of his own self-described hillbilly music over nearly four decades. On his 2012 collection, “3 Pears,” the Kentucky-born performer reached out to Kid Rock and Ashley Monroe of Pistol Annies for co-writing help on a couple songs, while Beck co-produced the successful set.

Ticket buyers know a slew of Yoakam singles when they head to his concerts — from the chart-topping “Guitars Cadillacs” from the similarly-titled 1986 debut and “I Sang Dixie” off of 1988’s “Buenas Noches from a Lonely Room” to 1993’s “A Thousand Miles from Nowhere.” And when he’s not on the tour bus canvassing the nation, the singer/songwriter may be on a movie set. His acting credits include critically acclaimed roles as an abusive boyfriend in “Sling Blade” and a psychopath killer in “Panic Room.”

Late transfer of venue from arena to performing arts center made a more intimate setting but seats were cramped.Disappointed that The Mavericks canceled at the last minute but Dwight made the evening.Even my daughter commented on haw good his singing and voice were,he put out a wall of sound that was great with very talented musicians. Finally got to see him after all these years and he really put on a great show.

Took my husband for his early birthday present. He us a huge fan of Dwight and Junior Brown both. As for me, I was pleasantly surprised that Dwight Yoakam was as good as he was! Sounded live just like he does on recordings and that is ALWAYS a huge plus for me. Not a lot of talking between songs and je would go straight into another! We had very nice, unobstructed seats. Everyone working the event was nice and helpful when asked. We had a great time.

  • Junior and Dwight, a great combo

by Mike on 11/18/25Enmarket Arena - SavannahRating: 4 out of 5

I actually got tickets because I've wanted to see Junior Brown for over 5 years! He was fabulous, better than I could have hoped. His voice was unbelievable and I appreciated his humor. Dwight was very good too but the entire show started 30 minutes late and the change over was almost an hour.

  • Amazing - Great Concert

Dwight Yoakum , the Legend - it was an Awesome Show Very energetic , he flawlessly sang one song after another, engaged the audience, his unique dance moves and stories about songs Was very entertaining. He sang a lot of his older tunes from 80’s, 90’s and throughout his career Blame the vain, Guitars Cadillac, Fast as you and newer ones on current album I don’t know How to Say Goodbye that he recorded with Post Malone. His band was really hot high energy too. I had a great time. If you missed it his next show is in Spartanburg, SC on February 21, 2026 I would highly recommend if you have never been to his concert.

Dwight was good, so glad I finally got to see him. Jr. Brown not so much. All his music sounds the same. Was glad when he quit playing.

  • Down time disappointing

by Ms T on 11/18/25Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - AshevilleRating: 2 out of 5

Junior Brown was slow and depressing People all around me were bored. I actually snoozed. Then after his hour and 15 min beginning at 7:00. 30 min set up which put them finishing at that at 8:45. The head liner didn't come on stage until 9:30. A whole 45 min after set up was complete. Dwight Yoakam's concert was good, but folks around me had to leave because of time restraints. Finishing his concert at 11:00 Seen Dwight Yoakam before the downtime was disappointing
