Disappointed that Eddie Mekka did not perform as advertised. Did not like where Grease changed some of the story lines.

    Grease was AWESOME!

by Mommy2Girls06 on 3/29/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

I took my 7yr old daughter to go see Grease, and we both thought it was amazing. She actually asked if we could go see it again because she thought it was "soo awesome". Thanks to the cast and Groupon we had a VERY entertaining night :) I am definitely going to look into going to see some more events with her!

    GREASE - waste of money

by EL17 on 3/29/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

What a disappointment. Acting was so-so. Vocals were average. Orchestra was good, but too loud at times. Worst part was having to explain all of the "choice language" to my children AND the (in my estimation) unnecessary sexual motions/actions. I'm not a prude - but neither the language nor the simulated acts of gratification added anything to the story - the movie version had just enough to get the point across. This stage show went over the top. I would NOT recommend.

    grease was great

For this to be my first expierence to a broadway musical it was fantastic. This was a graduation gift to my daughter. Instead we both had a wonderful time. Of course I had to buy her a"pink Ladies" shirt. We plan to make this a part of our entertainment in the future to see more musicals. Being at Clowes Hall was a magical moment as well. This facility is beautiful.

    Grease was...okay

by Dabney1 on 3/29/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

I wasn't really connected to the characters with one exception, the role of Vince Fontaine.

    Grease in Indy

by coolcat17 on 3/28/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

The show was very good. I really enjoyed how the show had a few remarks that made fun of the area, and of the Butler Bulldogs (they had beat Florida and had made the final four only half an hour earlier).

    Wanted more...

by soccermomoftwo on 3/28/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

I love musicals. It is an extreme treat to save and get tickets. I felt like this recent Grease musical was poorly cast. The actors seemed inexperienced despite the required work. I was left wanting more. Rizzo was excellent. Kinickie looked psychotic when he sang. Just didn't fit the part. The remaining characters just didn't work. Just sad it took so long to save for tickets and should have saved for Les Mis.

    Grease-y

by Theatreinmyheart on 3/28/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

While the performances of the players was average I found the script changes from movie to play less so. The new songs written for the stages were less than memorable and lacked any melodic entertainment value. There were few bright moments.

    Grease???

by citydreams7 on 3/28/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

The performances were great. The actors and actresses were all extremely talented. What I didn't like was how the show didn't even follow the storyline of the movie. There were random songs thrown in there and everything was out of order. I don't like the way it was written and I probably won't go out of my way to see this show again.

Grease was a fun musical. I would have given it a higher rating had they not made it so raunchy. It also wouldn't have bothered me as much if I didn't have my 9 year old with me. She enjoyed it but definitely picked up on many of the "disgusting" parts. I wish they would have warned me that it may not be suitable for young kids.

    grease was really good

by laurakantz2305 on 3/26/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

I thought they did a really good job. I really thought Rizzo was the lead role. She really stood out and should of played sandra dee. Sandra dee was good but not as good as rizzo.

    Grease

by 2WhiteDogs on 3/25/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

Overall I enjoyed the show. A few glitches at first getting the house lights dimmed. I know that smoking was a big part of the "lifestyle" at the time, but I am a non-smoker and hate the smell of cigarette smoke. There were several people around me all complaining about the smell. Possibly they could hold the cigarettes without actually lighting up. I also worry about the effect of the smoke on the actors. The finale was very well done. Must say I was a little disappointed at first that Eddie Mekka did not perform, but his replacement was excellent, so good in fact I'm not sure if Eddie's performance would be as energetic and as appealing as his understudy. (a little concerned that Eddie may be too old for the part). All said, I enjoyed the show and would recommend it.

    Grease was fun!

by ggrl on 3/25/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

This was a fun night for my daughter and I. They changed some of the traditional scenes of grease, but that was expected for a play. I liked the music they chose, I just would of rather heard more of the traditional Grease songs. The characters for Danny, Zuko, Riz, and Frenchy were the best. I think they could of picked a better person to portray Sandy, it just seemed akward. But all in all the show was a hit, and my teenage daughter loved it. FUN FUN night!!!
