About

The one that you want is back!  GREASE, Time Magazine's 2007 pick for "#1 musical of the year," is rockin' across the country in this new production direct from Broadway.  Now starring Laverne & Shirley's Eddie Mekka (Carmine "The Big Ragu") as DJ Vince Fontaine.

Take a trip to a simpler time of poodle skirts, drive-ins, and T-birds.  "Bad boy" Danny and "the girl next door" Sandy fall in love all over again to the tune of your favorite songs: "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightnin'" and "We Go Together" as well as additional songs from the hit movie: "Grease," "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "You're the One That I Want."

Grease-not the one that I wanted!

by Anonymous on 4/11/11Braden Auditorium - Normal

I was excited to see Eddie Mekka in Grease, but was tremendously disappointed to find him nowhere in the show without any acknowledgement of his absence. I was also disappointed by the overall performance. The songs are so familiar that when the actors come in late, it is obvious. Also, the actors didn't seem to be able to keep the same tempo in their singing as the band did in their playing. I would have been better off saving the money on tickets and watching the movie on TNT. The students that attend ISU could have put on a better performance than these "professionals" did.

Even though the show was very good, I was disappointed as I bought the tickets and traveled out of town, as it was adverised that Eddie Mecca was in the show. Not only was he not in the show, they never announced why not. The show was playing in the town where I live, bur Eddie Mecca wasn't advertised, so I traveled out of town because of this. Anyway, the show was very good and I still enjoed it.

Absolutely Awesome show. Fantastic music. The orchestra was perfect. The performers were some of the best I have heard. Special mention to "Rizzo" for her voice and personality.

    Disappointed

by kbteach on 4/5/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

This show was a disappointment. While the before show entertainment was great to get the crowd into the mood, the actual show didn't live up to expectations. The one bright spot in the whole cast was the young lady who played "Rizzo" - she was phenomenal. Unfortunately the other members of the cast did not live up to her level of competence. The production did not even meet levels of performance I have observed in local community theater. Perhaps our local theaters are a cut above the norm, but one billed with a "Broadway" title are expected to impress. Unfortunately this one did not.

the show was very well done the actors came out before and after the show to shake hands and greet people , What can you say about the BIG RAGU he was Travoltaesque in his performance the costumes we spot on for the show the car they brought out was immaculate , and for the crowd to applaud the way they di I would more than myself enjoyed this if you have a chance to se this its well worht the price of admission . Good job to all who was involved in this show

    Grease....Want to see it again!!!

by fiftieschick on 4/4/11Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

Grease was everything and more that I hoped it would be....Took my 15 year old granddaughter with me and we had a wonderful time. This was her first live on stage show and she is hooked!!! We both have loved the movie...I saw it in the theater and she has seen it on TV. We both can sing all the songs and it was a lovely time and wonderful way for me to spend time with her. BRING IT BACK SOON!!!

    Grease Is The Word

by Melissa062184 on 4/3/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

I had such a good time at this show. The seats were pretty high and I was disappointed by that considering what I paid for them, but my mother and I did get to move down some. I wish we had been able to for the whole show because it would have been more enjoyable. The cast and show itself were great though!

    Could have been better

by Geocacher on 4/1/11Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

In my opinion it just wasn't up to par. This is a VERY well know play with VERY well known songs. The voices were okay, but ONLY okay. The male lead just did not have a voice that projected. For the price of these shows I expect something a little better than what I saw.

    Grease was energizing!!

by Belle67 on 4/1/11Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

My friend and I attended the fantastic musical Grease performed by an energetic group of very talented singers and dancers. We particularly remarked on the great quality of the voices and also the best choreography we've ever witnessed!

    Grease not so good

by JodyO on 4/1/11Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

I was disappointed in Grease, shown in Daytona Beach on March 30. I felt that the characters overacted and the voices were shrill and frequently nasal. Even allowing for the fact that everyone knows and loves the movie, this performance left much to be desired. I've seen many musicals that were also movies, and all lived up to expectations except this one. According to the program, many of the actors were just out of college and/or were experiencing their first touring company. Maybe this was part of the problem. However, that doesn't make up for the cringe-creating voices.

    Grease the Musical

by AWFULAWFULAWFULAWFULAWFUL on 4/1/11Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona Beach

Well - as soon as I saw that Grease was coming to Daytona Beach, I instantly purchased tickets for myself and two friends. One of the girls that went has seen Grease the Musical 4 other times in the past at different venues and loved it each time. I was so excited for this event. Needless to say, 5 minutes into it, I wanted to walk out. The show itself wasn't what I expected. The sound quality was awful. As my friend said, her 7 year old nephew would have put on a better show. It was a huge waste of my money.

    Grease was awesome!

by indybankgirl on 3/29/11Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

I thought they did a great job with recreating their own version of Grease. The cast did a fantastic job and it looked like they had a great time doing it. I like that they put their own modern spin on it with a little bit of adult humor thrown in.
