DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS IN CONCERT:

Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers have a penchant for tradition, recording their studio albums in analog and insisting on releasing their records on vinyl. The band's traditional approach extends to their beloved live concerts, where craft and musicianship take center stage and marathon sets are the norm. The Truckers may orbit just under the mainstream's radar, but their devoted followers wouldn't have it any other way — as one of the best-kept secrets in music, the band has fans eagerly awaiting their intimate 2014 tour dates in support of English Oceans, their tenth studio album.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1996, the Drive-By Truckers' path to success was slow but steady, aided by a grassroots online presence and their constant touring. Following the release of their first two albums Gangstabilly (1998) and Pizza Deliverance (1999), the band embarked on their first US tour, further added to their reputation as consummate performers with electrifying live sets. 2005's The Dirty South marked the band's first appearance on the Billboard 200, which the band has steadily climbed with each subsequent release. Following the release of their tenth studio album English Oceans in 2014, the band will hit the road for another rollicking tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Once again DBT do not disappoint. This is a band that puts out excellent albums, and a rare occurrence where they are even better live."

"I have seen DBT 30+ times and they always make me look around for the next show! I love their energy and how they play off each other! I have never been to a bad show and this one was no different."

"As always, DBT kept me smiling and singing. Hood and Cooley took turns telling us our favorite yarns, up close and personal."

A great experience from the opening act until the very end o

by Laura on 4/26/23The Senate - Columbia

The Senate is great venue to see the Truckers. The Tru ckers played their hearts out. They seemed very hsppy to be at the venue and smiled and interCted with the crowd from start to finish. They played some of the best renditions of several of the songs I have ever heard them do. It was a great time. It reminded me of a homecoming show.

    DBT

by Dr Heinken on 4/26/23The Senate - Columbia

Wonderful music and service, but for those of us older folks standing for hours on a concrete floor is tuff, a few seats along the side or more in the back would be welcome

    Great Band, Terrible Sound !!!

by Lonnie on 3/21/23Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

I have seen this band 5 times, they are one of my fav`s. They put on a pretty good show, but the sound was so lackluster that the crowd couldn`t get into it. Bands feed off of the energy from the crowd, and if you can`t hear the band, there will be no energy from that crowd. It was muffled and there was no presence in the lead vocals for both Patterson or Steve. With the venue having so many flat, bare concrete and glass surfaces, there needs to be some type of sound baffling material , or it`s always going to have mediocre sound. I was hoping for a great time and a really good review, because I love this band, but the venue and the sound let me down.

    Couldn’t understand the vocals

by rkeyfour on 3/21/23The Pageant - St Louis

The vocals are an important part of the Drive-By Truckers experience, but at this venue we couldn’t hear and understand the vocals. Not sure if it was because of the mix or the venue, but it was a very frustrating experience. I really like the Drive-By Truckers music but l’m not coming back to see them at this venue again.

    Drive-By Truckers

by Mark R on 3/21/23The Pageant - St Louis

If you ever have a chance to see this band live, do it. Not the first time, and hopefully not the last...Truckers are still one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Acoustics in Pageant were decent.

    Great Show-Freezing Venue

    by D. G. on 3/21/23The Pageant - St Louis

Both DBT and Margo Cilker put on a wonderful show. However, the temperature in the venue felt like it was 40 degrees. It made what should have been a 5 star experience a very unpleasant one instead.

    Rockin Show

by Kim S on 3/20/23Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

We have seen the Drive-By Truckers 3 times now. This was by far the best performance. They were really into the show this evening. However they tend to go to venues where it is standing room only. This was good back in the day but unfortunately due to our ages we just can't stand on concrete for that many hours straight anymore. Unless they start going to venues with seats this sadly might be our last time seeing them. At least they rock it out for our possible last performance with them. Keep Rockin' DBT!!!

A great band compromised by poor sound

by Buckshot George on 3/20/23Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

I love Drive By Truckers, but was disappointed by the sound at this concert. Opening act Margo Cilker sounded great, but that was simple. Two acoustic guitars and vocals. I hesitate to give this show one star, because maybe there is a noise ordinance in this neighborhood or something. Sound wasn’t very loud, and very muffled, bassy, and boomy. It wasn’t nearly as great as seeing the band at Headliners Music Hall. I actually left early. It was a better experience to just listen to the music in my car. Otherwise, the venue was very nice and the staff were very friendly. I would be willing to give this venue another chance. My friend said the Primus show here sounded great. This show was a dud.

    great band sounding great

by dogbreth on 3/15/23Barrymore Theatre - Madison

DbT always play a solid show. Sound quality at Barrymore was really great. "The Driver" opener for the show was an epic three guitar rock jam. Show was kinda geared to a Sunday night show cuz it was a Sunday night show. Band sounded fantastic tho

    Great show

by Pk on 3/15/23Barrymore Theatre - Madison

I really like the intimacy of the Barrymore. They get some great acts. The DBTs put on an energetic, joyful show. The musicians are pretty tight. Downside was the sound mix was terrible. Started near the front and then moved in back behind the sound board because everyone in the front rows felt the need to stand up the entire duration. So the view was better farther back. Vocals were distorted. Wailing guitars started up an annoying chatter that made me relieved when they ended. I saw Bruce Cockburn here a year ago and the sound was excellent. So I don't think it's the theater. Maybe the band needs a new sound engineer on their travels.

    The Rock Show!

by Soulman on 11/21/22Thalia Hall - Chicago

Great Rock and Roll band that know how to bring it live. Very large catalog of songs and something for everybody. This was a wonderful benefit show to help feed the hungry as well. Highlight for me was the closer "Grand Canyon."

Your ticket process stinks. Want to buy tix for other events and never get them. The bots always do. Why even put someone in the queue? Be better
