About

DEAD & COMPANY IN CONCERT:

Deadheads rejoice! The Grateful Dead have been reborn as Dead & Company, delivering all the groovy vibes and extended jams fans know and love. Longtime Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart are joined by superstar singer/songwriter and accomplished blues guitarist John Mayer as they blend rock, folk, funk, jazz, and psychedelia to blow fans' minds with epic aural bliss. With their spacey instrumental interplay and awe-inspiring solos, the group organically weaves their way through audience favorites like "Truckin'", "Casey Jones", and "Fire on the Mountain". The long, strange trip is back on the road -- Dead & Company are bringing their positive energy and uncanny musical genius to ticket buyers everywhere.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Grateful Dead were instrumental to the '60s psychedelic sound and hippie culture. Jerry Garcia (guitar/vocals), Bob Weir (guitar/vocals), Phil Lesh (bass/vocals), Bill Kreutzmann (drums), and Ron McKernan (keyboards/vocals) got things rolling in 1965. Excluding McKernan and Garcia, who died in 1973 and 1995 respectively, the core lineup has remained virtually unchanged sinc then. Many other musicians have helped shape the band’s sound as well, especially second drummer Mickey Hart, who joined the Dead in 1967. The band toured excessively throughout the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, famously playing sets that exceeded the three-hour mark. After Garcia's death the group soldiered on, continuing to build their legacy through fearless sonic exploration. It was not until their 50th anniversary in 2015 that the Grateful Dead decided to retire their name. Fortunately for fans, their retirement was short-lived as pop singer/songwriter and blues guitarist extraordinaire John Mayer brought Weir, Hart, and Kreutzmann back out for more legendary jam sessions. Dead & Company continues in the Dead's spontaneous and inventive musical tradition -- just the way Deadheads like it.

    Great Music but…

    by MJ on 7/26/23

We went to all three shows. Great venue; great music; great people except the people who came to the show with COVID !! We are vaccinated & bolstered and are still sick from COVID we caught at the shows. This strain is really nasty— concert goers beware!!

    Wonderful band, terrible venue

    by Holly on 7/26/23

The venue here is horrible. They pulled apart my whole tiny bag for no reason. Took the cap of my lip balm and smelled it and the lid of my gum? Gross! Unsanitary and the lady searching was power tripping. CDB is legal and I had that in my bag yet she threw it away. I don't know what her problem was but she almost ruined my whole show experience. This was after dealing with hours of horrible and unmanaged traffic that she decided to toss my whole bag for no reason at all. She laughed and just enjoyed her tiny pitiful show of power because she probably has not a shred of it in her real life.

was great show but. no oncore

    by Carl M on 7/26/23

Nice show .. I have seen 3 other dead and company shows live and some on line nugs.. was great show but the Oracle has many seats that are under a roof and sound is bad.. Also, really poor not to do an oncore.. Not a matter of sound ordinance like Boulder.. Also very little interactions with audience.. like they do not care.. fans care more than they do..

    Magic

    by BuckCityPig on 7/24/23

One of the best concerts I’ve seen in a long time. They were firing on all cylinders. The crowd was into it, I was into it, and the band was definitely into it. It was a magical evening. You can not duplicate the power of this band, they played their asses off for us. Thank you Dead & Company ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻 Fare you well 💀🌹⚡️

    crowds. crowds. crowds.

    by 0xlindy on 7/23/23

While I loved seeing Dead & Co. this was my first time at SPAC and I will not be in a rush to get back. I was underwhelmed by the layout and while the staff did their best, there were way too many people to make it enjoyable. The venue was surely oversold, made evident by the lines leading into the security checkpoints and ticket gate. I arrived well over 2 hours before the show and still endured over an hour of a wait to get into the venue. By the time I entered, I couldn't even see the stage. The acoustics were great, but I would have loved to "see"the band live as opposed to just hearing them. A few weeks later I followed out to Boulder, CO and this venue was a way better experience. Limited lines, great parking experience, and I could see the stage! Luckily I ended on a good note!

    Scalpers badly damaged the enjoyment.

    by AcornAxe on 7/21/23

The LA (Forum) and Phoenix shows were friendlier and had better sightlines and sound. Oracle Park is really big and I heard comments that I agreed with that they could have "turned it up". On the field, it was hard to see the stage, even up fairly close. In the lower seats, it was very far away. The sound was probably better up higher - there was a lot of comb-filtering or a short-reflection echo/boominess that muddled up the sound - it was hard to hear the words. I wanted to be in GA (Saturday night) to really enjoy the graphics and light show, and a lot of rude/indifferent/not cool/drunk? (newbie) fans shoved their way in and stood in front of me, and one girl acted like it was MY fault that she kept banging her butt into me. She did not like my response that if she "stopped doing that"the problem would stop also. I was NOT going to shove my butt into the guy behind me so she had more room! It was crowded - too bad. A lot of space invasion even in the seats with bigger people taking their half out of my space. Not terrible - just annoying - unnecessary. I wish they had played "One More Saturday Night"on Saturday night. Too many slow songs. Very good versions of some of the songs - top notch, and Oteil's bass solo and the full-tilt fusion jazz blow out at the end on Sunday night was over-the-top awesome! Loved it! The drone show at the end was outstanding! I'm a long time Dead Head and it was not a cozy environment, but I was determined to be there at the end, and I was. All in all - it is what it is - Dead shows are always a bit unpredictable. Glad to be there!

    Great Farewell but the lines!

    by GoldenLight on 7/20/23

A great farewell from the remaining Dead and Co. The line getting onto the field Friday night left much to be desired. Reached to the Bay Bridge and missed the first five songs due to Oracle Park staff being overwhelmed . A partial refund would be great to all those holding field tickets that night!

    Final Tour

    by Cris on 7/20/23

We took in 11 shows across the country including the final two in San Francisco. All of the shows were fantastic as far as Dead & Co. go. Some of the venues were disorganized and not the best as far as dealing with traffic, lines, entry, having enough restrooms and convenience. SPAC and Burgettstown were the worst. Boulder was a great venue except not enough restrooms for people waiting to get in and very long food and drink lines. The Gorge and Oracle were great! So glad we were there for all of the shows! A Dead show never disappoints!

    Amazing show!

    by Deadhead Mama on 7/19/23

I did the VIP experience and it was worth the money! I was in the first group that entered the general admission area and was near the rail. It was amazing. Venue was great. Audience was great. Set list was amazing. And being close enough to see their faces was priceless. Just wish I could have been at their final shows in San Fran.

    by agnessonora on 7/19/23

Having seen many of the post-Jerry iterations, pleasantly surprised by quality of Dead & Co., musically. Was my first and (supposedly…), last Dead & Co. show. Generous first and second sets of music.
