Aspiring musicians, singers, dancers, comedians, rappers and spoken word artists try their best to please the audiences that can make them an Apollo Legend. Get ready to cheer or jeer as you decide who stays and who gets booted off stage. At Amateur Night, you tell the performers to be good or be gone!
Amateur Night at the Apollo is hosted by the comedian Capone. Each show begins with a festive pre-party featuring video and music by DJ Jess. Also, keep a lookout for master impressionist C.P. Lacey, the resident Executioner who sweeps bad talent off the stage.
We were cordially and warmly greeted by the ushers. Kudos to the band, DJ, Capone and the artists. The use of the QR CODES on the fans for audience interaction was HOT! My first time for Amateur Night. We'll be back!
This was one of the highlights of our visit to New York this time. We wanted something different to the usual broadway stuff and this was it. Totally entertaining for the whole show. Great to visit such a legendary building as well. Ticket prices where excellent as well. Highly recommended
Enjoyed the DJ. Sandman and his costumes changes. The host and the dancing hope to srr yall next year.I am from Riegelwood N.C.
We had a great time at the historic Apollo theater! The talent was great (well most of it anyway!) and the host was terrific. I loved the energy of the crowd and can’t wait to go back again.
I’ve gotta say I truly love going to amateur night at the Apollo. It never disappoints. My only constructive criticism is the last couple of times I’ve gone the caliber of the talent has gone down a bit. I hope they work harder to get at least a few better acts each show. Also Comedian Capone is getting a bit stale (sorry). His routine from show to show doesn’t change at all and after a few times it just doesn’t have the same effect. Overall, I look forward to my next amateur night real soon
We went first time to the Apollo Theater to see the amateurs night! It was a great 2.5h show with all kind of Musik entertainment and great hosts and audience….I will comeback for for next time being in NYC
My mom and sister and i had a ball at the apollo... it was lit. The vibes were amazing and the music was too. We really enjoyed the dj and dancing and participating in the amateur night! I would definitely do it again!
It really was fun watching the talent show last Wednesday. We would have loved it even more, if the P.A. system wouldn't have been so loud that it almost hurt our ears. Just a 10% less would be great. Also we missed a little more variety in the art forms: 85% were singers, only two dance acts and only one instrumentalist. Is it really so hard to find talents other than singers? Anyway, we highly recommend going to the show. It is really fun and worthwhile!

The DJ had everybody hyped before the show started, the MC was hilarious. I cannot remember the tap dancer name his tapping skills were fantastic-and his outfits were to die for. I have been trying to come since pre-Covid. The year we came the snowstorm hit and everything closed down. It was worth the wait. I am trying to plan to return on 11/23/2022 for the finally. Oh I am travel from Michigan a little distance. I can go on and on 8 had so much fun.
I had a wonderful time it was fun It doesn't matter where you sat you still had a good view I will definitely go again this was my 1st time
I had a great time as a first-timer in the US. It was fun to see people dancing in the audience, as that’s not common for a seated show where I’m from. The music was a bit too loud for my comfort but for the next time I’ll just carry earplugs with me. I definitely recommend this.
Finally made it to the Apollo for amateur night and it was great. Paid back, good vibes, great talent, awesome MC…he made the show.
The vibes were amazing, the host was hilarious, the DJ and the band were also awesome!! Just it could have been a lot more of variety of the talents (80%singers) and to be honest I also would have liked if there would have been a weird talent .

On a whim looked up the Apollo. Wondering what happened to amateur night only to see it was still happening. Bought tickets and had one of the most memorable nights out. Highly recommend putting this on you must see list. Great host and production. Dont forget the fabulous band.

This was my 4th time at Amateur Night. I think everyone who has the chance should go at least once. First, it is where many of the greats in music started. Second, I love the way the emcee gets the audience involved and encourages us to shed our differences, to be friendly, and act together to choose the best talent. Finally, there is some real talent that is great to encourage and there are some performers with no talent that are fun to boo from the stage.
