Minnesota bluegrass outfit Trampled by Turtles breathe new life into the genre with their boot-stomping rock and roll approach. Originally hailing from various rock bands, the quintet found a welcome change in the acoustic palette of bluegrass, creating a unique hybrid sound that they've honed over seven albums. Boasting a rowdy live presence characterized by virtuoso mandolin and fiddle playing, the band has impressed crowds at festivals ranging from Coachella to Lollapalooza, building excitement for their US tour dates in 2014.

"Fantastic! Very talented group! There was a cello player for many songs, which was a very pleasant surprise! Highly recommend!"
Disillusioned with their various respective rock projects, the members of Trampled by Turtles got together in the early 2000s with the intention of returning to their roots, exploring traditional acoustic instruments and bluegrass forms. Quickly becoming favorites in their hometown of Duluth, Minnesota, the band's success remained relatively local until their fifth studio album Palomino topped the Bluegrass Albums chart in 2010, where it remained in the Top 10 for a whopping 52 weeks. 2012 follow-up Stars and Satellites would also top the chart, cementing the band's place as one of the brightest young talents in bluegrass. With a live album climbing the charts in 2013, Trampled by Turtles are road-ready for their 2014 tour dates.
