Positive: Great variety of powerful music, great energy. Excellent band. Great blend of English and French. Not positive: Late start was not respectful. TD venue not ideal (standing only for opening and main act). A little too much pontificating.

From the very first song, Montreal, Allison connected with the audience and led us on a beautiful voyage of her music. I’m old(ish) and I’ve seen many incredible shows and Allison’s concert ranks right up there for me.

Allison Russell is an incredible musician who's lyrics dig deep into her lived experience. She has an incredible ability to connect with the audience on a whole new level of live concert experience. She is genuine, grateful, & extremely talented

Allison is so free and comfortable in her own skin. She’s authentic and so natural on the stage, expressing her beautiful spirit and LOVE! And her voice just blows me away as well as her ability to play so many instruments so masterfully. And yay to Aysanabee for a wonderful performance! I love him to pieces.🧡

Allison Russell's Nightflyer and other amazing songs, discovered via Spotify, were a balm for the spirit during the pandemic and other national horrors of 2016-2020. When I saw a concert nearby at The Birchmere in Virginia, I corralled my husband for the concert despite that we still do not do much indoor venue hanging about. The set up with dining tables with six chairs seemed reasonably less dense than most concert venues. We ended up sitting at a four person table at the far corner which had a great view and perfect sound, had a Left Hand Milk Stout and enjoyed the concert. Allison Russell must be seen in person. Her band were all women with their own solo careers as well as working with Allison and it was a charming and eclectic sound. Allison's voice is one for the ages, powerful and exquisitely emotive. She is up for a Grammy and I hope will gain enough following to "be able to pay for her daughter's college"as she attests and deservedly would do much more than that.

I have been trying to see Allison Russell for several years. I fell in love with her music during the pandemic. I have been playing her music on my sound system which is very good, but it didn’t prepare me for her energy and depth in concert. She is an amazing talent. Her life story is extraordinary and thankfully through her chosen friends she found music.

Allison Russel is a force and will continue to rise . I believe getting to see her at a small venue won’t be available after the Grammys this year . The Birchmere in Alexandria is such a fun spot so the night was perfect.

The venue was a new one for us and we didn't know what to expect. Given the time we had to arrive, we didn't know that it would be an opportunity to meet and connect with people before the show. Once the doors were open, we continued conversations and had a great meal. It all led to a blow-out performance by a soulful, thoughtful, energetic group. What a great evening!

Allison and her team of power women send a wave of liquid love out into the universe around them. The music is tight, the lyrics inspirational and the energy of the show is contagious, infusing every member of the audience with long absent hope. They transform every theater into an evangelical tent where lucky pilgrims receive electrical blessings of female fortitude.
