ZZ Top Concert Schedule

ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.

ZZ Top Background

ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. Other Top 40 singles include 1975's "Tush," 1977's "I Thank You," and 1981's "Gimme All Your Lovin'"Follow ZZ Top on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook.

ZZ Top is always over the top. They are always first rate in there shows and their music will live on forever. They have been my favorite since the beginning in Houston. I took my husband who is 63 and never would listen to them and now he's hooked.

    Real Good music!

by Jessica03 on 7/20/09Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

The music was great but the show was short. I expected a longer show than an hour and a half. I am glad to say that I have seen them, just wish it would have lasted longer.

    ZZ Top Tops the Pavilion

by michitex1 on 7/19/09Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

Seeing ZZ Top at the Coushatta Pavilion was as close and personal like being at a Texas backyard bar-b-cue. They served up thier hits and had the place smokin and salivating for more.

    ZZ Top was awesome

by kutebuni on 7/19/09Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

ZZ Top was awesome, loved the old songs, but that what I grew up on. Our seats was not the best in the world, we were on the floor , had to recomend the row 2 ahead of us that we could not see. Thank goodness for the big screen. But all in all it was a very good show.

    Better than imagined

by TDAHL on 7/19/09Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

It's amazing how much they still have left in them. It was fun, entertaining and left me wanting more...but in a good way. Hard to believe two guitars and drums can sound that amazing.

    ZZ top was short

by TompComp on 7/19/09Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

I the sound was great. The visuals were great (smoke stack mic stands with lights and custom drum set motif, etc...). But the show was short for the price. At $80 per ticket and no opening band, every other show I've been to like that has played for at least two hours. ZZ Top started at 8:13pm and were off the stage by 9:24pm. They have so much material and history that they could've easily played for two solid hours and then left and came back for an encore set.

    ZZ Top was awesome!

by GeryB on 7/19/09Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

This was my 5th time, my husband's 6th time and my two teenagers' 1st time to see ZZ Top. Awesome as always - these dudes are still rockin' it out. My kids were totally blown away by the whole experience. We didn't have an opening act but it was OK - who could get you in the mood for ZZ Top? NO ONE. I wish we could have gotten more than one encore from them though! Our only complaint was the amount of time wasted standing in line waiting for two shuttles to get to the venue and back to our hotel. Waiting is inevitable at large events such as this but it took huge chunks of time to get from point A to point B to point C, etc. The other concert goers were friendly and, for the most part, considerate.

ZZ Top at Coushata Casino, Sat. July 18

by Stevecajun on 7/19/09Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

I am as old as ZZ Top (heaven forbid). I have bought their record albums from Day 1 back in the early 70's. I know Billy, since I once lived in Houston. They are great guys and a great band. So with that, I feel well qualified to offer my two-cents worth for last night's concert at Coushata Casino. The band played a lot of their big hits and some off-the-wall blues stuff. I think they could have played a whole lot more of their "big hits" and brought the roof down had they not played some of the bluesy off-the-wall stuff. I feel the band and the performance was just on the edge of having me convinced to say that this was the best concert I'd ever seen or heard. However, this was not the case because ZZ played too much off-the-wall bluesy stuff where they could have played a whole lot more of their biggy hits. In all, the show was way too short for the price they get these days. They played a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes. Just expand this by 20 minutes (4 or 5 more songs) and no one would complain about getting their money's worth. Don't get me wrong, I love the band and they will always be one of my favorite bands. On another note, the sound was fantastic and dynamic. Probably the best sound I've heard in an arena in a long time. My hat's off to the sound crew and the guy who designed the whole system. You could actually understand the vocals and all the instruments were well balanced.

    ZZ Top was terrific

by cottonduos on 7/19/09Coushatta Casino Resort - Kinder

A great performance by a great band, with two caveats: 1) All of a sudden, they were finished, no thank you, no good night, they simply walked off the stage. People got up and started leaving, but you weren't really sure if it was over, until they turned on all of the lights. 2) It was one hour and twenty minutes long. I expect at least near two hours for a concert worth the money. Sort of a letdown.
