About

Based in New York, the post-punk/garage rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs consists of Karen O (vocals), Brian Chase (drums) and Nicolas Zinner (guitar). The trio released their self-titled debut EP in 2001—featuring angry yet sexy vocals and equally fierce guitar work and drumming. As fans awaited the band's first full-length album, Yeah Yeah Yeahs released a second super-charged EP, Machine, in 2002. After much anticipation, Fever to Tell, the band's debut full-length, appeared in 2003 and featured a range of songs, from ballads to high-energy punk tracks. The song "Maps" became a hit for the group, receiving frequent radio play and airing as a video on MTV. Film director and music video guru Spike Jonze lent his skills to the group, directing a video for the track "Y-Control." Yeah Yeah Yeahs have also kept a busy touring schedule, supporting bands such as the Strokes and the White Stripes, making appearances at festivals such as South by Southwest, and headlining their own tours in the U.S. and the U.K.

    Amazing band

by Lena on 6/10/23Marymoor Live - Redmond

After waiting 10 years, they did not disappoint. Missed them in Boston, so happy to catch them in Seattle (Merrymoore Park). I think they could do a bigger venue though. It was a beautiful night, but very crowded. Thanks for coming back!! I’d love to see them again.

Great Show for my first time at Northerly Island

by 13andit on 6/7/23Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island - Chicago

As someone with no qualms biking or taking public transit, I love the location of this venue. Shout out to the moon coming out to enjoy the show with us all. I'm not a huge fan of stadium shows generally, I think it's silly to have chairs in places where dancing is supposed to happen. A bit disappointed in the image quality of the big screens, tho the camera team was doing a good job capturing the action. The show was really good, the set list was really good. I just have weird feelings about live nation and ticket master and hope that they didn't totally squeeze all their vendors and artists dry as they monopolize the industry. ALSO, after all the dancing I did, there ought to have been more water available for free on the way out. The park district's fountains were flowing, but the bottle fill stations w/in the gates were all empty after the show.

Great show, facility needs some improvement

    by K on 6/6/23Armory - Minneapolis

Show was great! However your facility really needs more ways to exit. Filtering everyone through two doors took forever and really doesn't feel safe if there was an emergency.

    Yeah Yeah Yeahs are awesome!

    by Shawn S on 6/6/23Armory - Minneapolis

I had seen the opening act Perfume Genius before but enjoyed them more now as a full band The Yeah Yeah Yeahs sounded great. Karen O connects with the audience and puts her heart and soul into the performance. Every gesture and motion drew cheers. Her voice was great, even better than recordings. The setlist was excellent. They played every song I wanted to hear. I also enjoyed the venue and got to stand in front row behind the guard rails. Since it was general admission for the floor my daughter and I arrived early. We had fun meeting and chatting with fans from other states. The audience was multigenerational and diverse, all united in our love for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and their music. This was a great time andan awesome experience to share with my daughter and new friends.

    by M on 6/6/23Armory - Minneapolis

Awesome show. It was a dream to both see perfume genius and the yeah yeah yeahs. Beautiful venue. My only complaint is that their capacity seems too high, after the opener it was impossible to move anywhere inside

    Great, but not their best

by Tony on 6/6/23Armory - Minneapolis

The armory as a venue is fine, but the YYY’s sort of failed to fill is with energy… they had a rough start with a sound hiccup and sort of didn’t recover…

    Pretty boring

by CBBC on 6/6/23Armory - Minneapolis

I love the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and was excited to see them but it felt like the music was pre-recorded. Everything sounded EXACTLY how it sounds on the recordings. You might as well have stayed home and listened to them on Spotify. Disappointing.

    Euphoric

by DarrylHannah on 6/6/23Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island - Chicago

This was my 1st time seeing my favorite band, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, live and calling it a magical experience is an understatement! As soon as I saw Karen O come out in her bedazzling costume, I almost lost it <3 The band gave an amazing performance and sounded just as good if not better live than in their recordings. This was the best concert I've ever been to and I'll never forget it!

by Milly Millz on 6/5/23Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island - Chicago

Karen O was sick a week before the show in Chicago, and I am grateful that she was feeling better to give Chicago a fantastic Performance with all her energy and pizzaz. One of the top shows I got to attend this year. Continue doing fantastic Yeah Yeah Yeahs!!!!

    Uber and Lyft nightmare

by Paulthegreat on 6/5/23Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island - Chicago

Getting to the concert was great but leaving the concert was a big pain in the butt. Uber and lifts were upwards of 70 plus. I'm trying to walk anywhere to get to the train was insane

    Lower expectations

by ChrisE on 6/4/23Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island - Chicago

I’ve loved Karen O’s music and she’s a group on my bucket list yet I didn’t nt think she was at her best. Late start & only played 1 hour. She did play all my favorites yet she struggled a bit. Glad I went tho

    Great performance!

by EVB on 6/4/23Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island - Chicago

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are great performers! Had a blast at their show. Love all of their music and their energy on stage. The onstage backdrop was very fitting to the music and really added a nice element to the show. Would’ve liked to be able to hear Karen AP’s lyrics better but otherwise really loved it!

    The Best.

by cms60647 on 6/4/23Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island - Chicago

Crunchy guitars. Compressed drums. Distortion. An absolutely PERFECT set list. And a very friendly reminder of the times when we all wore black and smoked cigarettes indoors.
