About

Based in New York, the post-punk/garage rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs consists of Karen O (vocals), Brian Chase (drums) and Nicolas Zinner (guitar). The trio released their self-titled debut EP in 2001—featuring angry yet sexy vocals and equally fierce guitar work and drumming. As fans awaited the band's first full-length album, Yeah Yeah Yeahs released a second super-charged EP, Machine, in 2002. After much anticipation, Fever to Tell, the band's debut full-length, appeared in 2003 and featured a range of songs, from ballads to high-energy punk tracks. The song "Maps" became a hit for the group, receiving frequent radio play and airing as a video on MTV. Film director and music video guru Spike Jonze lent his skills to the group, directing a video for the track "Y-Control." Yeah Yeah Yeahs have also kept a busy touring schedule, supporting bands such as the Strokes and the White Stripes, making appearances at festivals such as South by Southwest, and headlining their own tours in the U.S. and the U.K.

    Yeah!

by saffdarling on 7/13/09Beaumont Club - Kansas City

Show was great. Karen O was decked out in some pretty amazing outfits - and, more importantly, she rocked the house. Would have liked to hear more tunes from Fever To Tell, but new stuff sounded great live. For those disappointed with new album because of the dance beats, no worries. You'll love it once you've seen the songs live. My only complaint about the show was the venue - Beaumont Club in KC - couldn't see the performers on stage from most angles in the club - have to be standing directly in front to see well. And this is a show where you want to see AND hear the whole thing.

The show was great. Aragon Ballroom was great venue, packed but could see/hear from all around. Karen O is crazy and an amazing performer. Had a good time even though I was by myself!

    Amazing show

by leahlee on 7/13/09Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs performing at the LC Pavillion was one of the best shows I've been to all year. Everything was completely on-point: the stage set look AMAZING, with the lights and decorations as all, and Karen Oh was so splendidly energetic and incredible throughout the entire performance. The whole band sounded so great and I was happy to hear them play a few older hits as well.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs were unbelievable!

by Maris on 7/13/09Riviera Theatre - Chicago

Normally bands don't sound great at the Aragon Ballroom, but the Yeah Yeah Yeahs sounded amazing. Lots of energy and electric vibe, I want to see them again. I would recommend them to anyone.

    Yeah Yeah Yeahs

    by LindseyMarie on 7/13/09Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - Milwaukee

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs sounded great, but because of all of the underage drunk kids that were allowed to be admitted, with it being an 18+ plus general admission show, I could only stand to stay for 2 songs before I had been knocked down numerous times. I would go see them again, just not in this venue, was definitely a waste of my money.

    Yeah Yeah Yeahs awesome performance

by MistyMoe on 7/13/09Beaumont Club - Kansas City

I absolutely love this type of music, trouble is most local radio stations don't play it with the exception of my fave 96.5 the Buzz, thank you, thank you! The recent Yeah Yeah Yeahs concert did not disappoint in terms of sound and performance. They sound as great perhaps even better in person which fans have to appreciate. The venue however was too small for this act, the place was packed and some of the concert goers were crowded which made them a little cranky and rude. Other than that a great experience!

The YYY's rocked my socks off!!

by Stet on 7/13/09Aragon Ballroom - Chicago

This was an amazing show. I have been wanting to see the YYY's for a long time now and I was not disappointed. They were really fun and Karen O was rocking as usual!! The ballroom was really pretty and there was even a beer girl that walked around to serve drinks so we didn't have to miss anything or give our spots up. I just wish I wasn't so short b/c I always have troubles with tall people standing in front of me and then I get angry...grrrr... Go see these guys if you get a chance! You will not regret it. I heart thee Karen O!!!

Karen O Gave Me an O

by almoagnadna on 7/13/09Beaumont Club - Kansas City

This show was amazing. The venue is just the PERFECT size, with great acoustics, and the perfect space for an intimate/intense show. Karen O's stage presence is just amazing. Her energy seems endless, and she puts so much of herself into it. It's worth it to just to see her amazing wardrobe! Bottom line: They rocked it. And the Beaumont is always a great venue.

i say "yes, yes, yes" to the yeah yeah yeah's

by rebel4141 on 7/13/09Newport Music Hall - Columbus

karen o. and the boys brought the rock. the show was fantastic. karen is a natural on stage. anyone who can pull off a glow-in-the-dark mask and make it look cool and not silly like karen did is worth the price of admission. nick is a phenomenal guitarist. truly a unique talent with a great ear for guitar tone. i'd put him up there w/ johnny greenwood from radiohead. ok.....close to johnny from radiohead. a great show. they are not to be missed.
