    World Athletics (Track&Field) Eugene, Ore.

by CoachBearX on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Best track meet Ive ever witnessed. Excellent sight lines, even from “cheap” seats. Eugene went all out for a flawless production.

    Superb Experience!

    by A. B. on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

I attended the morning session Saturday July 23rd. Everything went beautifully - from the golf cart ride from ADA parking to very courteous and helpful check-in staff - smooth sailing. I would certainly do this again. If I have one regret it is that I didn't have better booking savvy. I would have booked the evening session as well, even though it would have made for a very long day. Maybe the powers that be will consider full day tickets...?

    Change my seats!

by Longhorn on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Bought 2 tickets very early near finish line for final day.. Reasonable price. Over time my seats changed twice (location). When I got to venue, my seats had been move to temporary seats at opposite end of field from my original seats. The track meet was wonderful, but I was disappointed that my seats had been moved!

Consistently overpriced and eliminating fan base

by Larry on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

The repeated decisions by the management staff, to exclude people by over-pricing tickets, over-priced food/drink, and management personnel (on the floor) who irritate rather than help (in this case, your volunteers were 100X better then your paid staff has ever been), will be the demise of the fan base you must have to thrive. The model you use over and over seems to clearly not work - please re-evaluate.

Best Track & Field Event Ever at Hayward Field

by Oz on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

It was awesome to have the World Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field. I've watched many track meets at the old and new Hayward Field over the years but this takes the cake. What a great atmosphere for the athletes and an incredible showing by the US. I would love to see this event come back.

Wow! Can we make this happen again?

by NateBeach on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

I will preface this by saying that I am a lifelong Track fan. When it was announced that the World Championships were coming to the United States, I knew I had to be there, in person. Sometimes when you anticipate something for so long it can be a letdown but this was the opposite. The new stadium in Eugene is beautiful and the intimate feel of the venue combined with the small town feel of Eugene made for unprecedented access as a fan. At most sporting events you never have a chance to interact with the athletes unless you pay thousands for courtside seats. At this event you were likely to run into a gold medalist on your way to get a cup of water or use the bathroom. There are a few things I would do differently next time I go to an event at Hayward Field though. First, I would buy seats on the shaded, home-stretch side. It was hot and sunny the whole time on the backstretch. Also, I would make sure to get there early every day to take advantage of the concession stands. The food options in the Stadium were diverse and looked very tasty but the lines were long (though they did move quickly). All in all, I had a great time at this meet. I even got to see three world records! You will definitely find me in Eugene the next time they host the US championships.

    First time was amazing!

by Mike R. on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

I ran track & cross country in high school and college in the USA. I'm 51 now, and still a runner. When the World Championships were announced for Eugene, OR - I knew I had to go. I've never attended a track & field meet of this caliber. I attended the final two evening sessions. I took the EmX bus line (free) to the stadium on Day 9. It was a super easy way to get there. Lines into the venue moved very quickly, and the mobile ticket scanning worked perfectly. The event seemed extremely well-run. While I was in town, I ate at some really nice restaurants, ran Pre’s Trail, hiked up Spencer Butte, and shopped the local stores. Congrats to World Athletics, Oregon22, and the Eugene community for putting on such an amazing event. I had the best time!

    World Track and Field

by WA Fan on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

The event was very well planned and organized. We utilized the fan bus ride from the Valley River Mall this was very convenient. The venue was great as well, the only complaint would be the heat and the sun beating down on the east side was unbearable, but we can't control mother nature.

    Had so much fun!

by Trackgirl on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Great to see the World Track and Field Championships in North America. The weather was great and the event was well organized. Using Ticketmaster was an easy way to obtain out tickets and the event app and Ticketmaster app worked well together.

    Nothing short of incredible!!!

by Steve on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

It’s incredible that we got to see some of the best athletes in the world compete at the highest level right here in Oregon with 2 more world records going down at Hayward field. So proud of Team USA and the way they performed by closing it down by sweeping the 4x4s and winning the most medals ever at the World Championships.

Outstanding once in a lifetime experience

by FW Eugene on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Went 6 of 10 evenings and to women's marathon. All was much better than expected. The 10 day schedule appeared sparse compared to a usual 3 day T&F meet, but it was continually engaging.

Great experience but ticket experience very narrow-minded

by Zee on 7/27/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Outstanding event! Arguably the best global track and field championships ever, but ticketing was exclusively digital, you had to have a smartphone. For those who do not have a smartphone or prefer paper tickets were dismissed from the event. As were locals who are used to or prefer buying their tickets from a box office or to not have to use a smartphone to attend. I had to help some very distressed neighbors and friends of mine through the process.

    Great Event!

by Mich:-) on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Stadium was fantastic! Seats were super comfy. The fan shuttle option was the best I’ve ever experienced. Easy to park, buses waiting, friendly & funny drivers, close drop off… even the line to board the bus after the event went smoothly…couldn’t ask for anything more than that! Entry to the event was quick & easy. I felt very safe with all the protocols. Happy to see water stations…no plastic bottles…yay! I enjoyed the many different food options, clean & well-stocked bathrooms. Merchandise options were great, varied daily, and fairly priced. It was awesome to be able to overlook an area to watch the athletes warm up. Four world records!!! Woo hoo!!
