    Finally We See The Champions

by Got Ice on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Everything was fabulous from stadium entry to stadium exit. Athletes were beyond excellent, showing us all that they were professionals. Food and drink was plentiful. Cold water refill stations were great. Bathrooms were clean with very short lines. We had great views of warm-ups and the finish line. World records were exhilarating. Thank you to all for keeping me and my friends glued to the event.

The competition was great, the ticket switches were not

by Chi-Town Track Fan on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

We enjoyed seeing many outstanding performances at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the seats we were reassigned to when our originally purchased seats were eliminated to make room for a large video screen. The new seats were on metal benches with high sun exposure - far inferior to the seating in the section we were moved out of.

Track and Field is a great sport to watch In- Person

by Steve 1 on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Watched three world records being set over the 10 days I attended. I didn't miss any of the sessions. It's great to watch a sport where the winner is determined by who is fastest, throws the farthest, jumps the highest or longest. (no referee's ruining a game) Hayward field holds only 25,000 people so just about every seat is great. I love that the athletes interact with the fans and take selfies. Best of all athletes come up into the stands and sit next to you in open seats when they are not competing. First time I could ride a bicycle to a stadium and park it in a bike valet for free! Also for a world championship micro-brew beers were only $10 and no tax! Never see that at the Super Bowl!

    On the Fast Track

    by S. C. on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

First, ticketing. Online purchase and management were decent, especially through the actual WCH app. However, the interface with both the University of Oregon sports app (where I orignaly purchased the tickets) and the Ticketmaster app was variable at best. Also, navigating to the management page was squirrelly; from the actual "tickets" tab, not all of my tickets displayed. However, those missing tickets showed up when I went through the Mobile Ticketing Guide tab and clicked the link for WCH Mobile Ticket Manager. I was appreciative that you were responsive to my emailed request to have our tickets designated for ADA use, on account of my wife's recent hip surgery. As it turns out, we never needed to show the ADA designation, but it was nice knowing it was there if anyone asked. It was disconcerting to see so few ushers and so many people just plopping into our seats before we got there. However, all of the conflicts were resolved face to face without issue. As for the event itself: Spectacular! Eugene fans expect their meets to go off like clockwork, and this one was no exception. Finally, I have to comment on the false start DQ rule. I love having objective standards. But clearly, 0.1 seconds is NOT the right place to draw the line for an auto DQ. Instead, make it an automatic red card at 0.08 or 0.09, and give yellow warning cards to those whose reaction is between that faster time and 0.1. We want MORE people turned on to the wonder that is track and field, not more who are turned off. Anyway, thanks for coming to Eugene. Is was 10 days I will remember forever.

Four Sessions at World Athletic Championships Oregon22

by UvaMan on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Great event, great venue. Well orchestrated, especially parking with shuttle buses. The "Legend" was very annoying. Also, music should not be played just as events are about to start.

    Damagingly expensive.

by Larry on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

The facility is nice but you priced your future fans out of the market. Unless you change your consistent over pricing, you will continue to contribute to the decline of Tracktown Culture. I do not believe there is evidence that your model is working

    Love track & field

by KWB on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Never thought we would see a World championship in the US. Competition was outstanding. The crowd energy and international mix was amazing. The negative was how difficult Ticketmaster made it to get tickets for every session. Could not buy the same 2 seats for all days in one transaction. Had to purchaee day by day. Then the sections were renumbered and my sight lines were blocked by the huge video screen. My last seats were not reassigned until 3 days before the meet started and then were much higher in the seating than I had originally selected. I spent over $2000 almost a year in advance to be treated 2nd class.

    WCH22

    by Trackfan54 on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

The venue was great and is its own story. The track and field results were exemplary. The energy was great. The ticket situation was confusing at best and overly frustrating at worst(which it often was) ...and that was just using the tickets for my own personal use. I didnt attempt to transfer or resell tickets. I dont remember having these issues with the Olympic Trial tix. To the most part had no issues at the gate over 10 events(a couple of times the readers had difficulties and only once did it take more than a minute or two to get in.

    Very Impressed

by Stephanie on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

I planned this trip for my dad who is a huge track and field fan, but it turns out I am a huge fan too. We had such an incredible time watching some of the best athletes from around the world run, jump, and throw - not to mention 3 world records! Besides all the action, I was thoroughly impressed with the organization of the event, especially the transportation. We did the free park and ride for the 6 days we attended and it was flawless in comparison to all other bus/shuttle experiences. I could even tell they improved their system from day to day of the event. Bravo to whoever planned and ran the transportation!

    Best Ever World Meet

by Ray on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

I attended my first USA Olympic Trials Meet in 1960 and have attended many between then and now as well as other top meets at Hayward Field and other venues. This Meet was the absolute best meet I've ever attended, not just the competition, but everything... the venue, volunteer help, shuttle busses, meet organization, security...everything! It was a phenomenal experience! Thank you Eugene Oregon!

Experience was okay, could have been better!

by Jerry on 7/26/22Hayward Field - Eugene

Really didn’t appreciated how our seats got moved. My Sister has mobility issues and the seat we chosen took that into consideration. So when we got seated between 10 other people it was difficult for her to get up when she wanted! She was so upset!!

Once in a lifetime experience! Electric buzz from the second the meet started to the very end. Athletes and fans interacted with each other throughout the meet. Best experience ever!
