They rocked! Excellent show, violinist was superb!
The vocalists in this production were fabulous. Keep the story teller. The sound engineer(s) needed to avoid the numerous feedbacks, squelching and reverbs that occurred during the performance which took away from the performers. The loudness generally could have been toned down a bit to allow the audience to enjoy the vocals.
Show would have been better to see before Christmas. Musicians were all aging, but great energy. Two who were outstandingand were the violinist and tenor they were fantastic. Pianist was funny.
This was better than TSO in so many ways. The creativity and choreography was outstanding with a storyline that could be understood and followed throughout this magnificent show. The mix of O Holy Night and Ave Maria was a perfect illustration of the talent and imaginativeness of Wizards of Winter. After seeing TSO for the first time last year, I never expected anything to come close to meeting my expectations. This show far surpassed it.
The loudest concert I have ever attended was Stevie Ray Vaughan as opening act for 38 Special at the Peoria Civic Center. The Wizards of Winter were the 2nd loudest concert I've ever attended. Yes, they should have dropped the volume 50-75 decibels. Also, the basic rhythm seemed to repeat itself through out the concert. The positive parts of the concert were watching the fantastic talent perform on the stage. From the singers to the lead guitarist, they were all great. My wife & I enjoyed the concert, but we would not see it again.
Lots of lights, snow, wailing guitars, amazing voices. All interweaved into a story about the search for the true meaning of Christmas. I'd there room for improvement? Sure, but not much. This show is every bit as good as Trans-Siberian orchestra, just a little smaller.
My husband were very pleased with the Wizards of Winter and will plan to see them again...My only complaint is about the Peoria Civic Center. My husband and I have limited mobility and it would have been nice to know that the concert was in the theater, because we could have parked accordingly and could have avoided the long walk. Also wheelchairs would have been nice and if one was used where would we have sit? So many stairs going up and down to the seats. Old theatre seats need to be upgraded. But overall, a good concert
Music and arrangements were very good. Only criticism is that it was difficult to hear most of the vocalists over the guitars.
Anyone who is a fan of TSO will love this show. Only complaint is the blinding laser lights. For those of us in the 1st balcony, the lights were aimed right at us. But the show was amazing
Really good musician performance. The theatrical part was good because of the beautiful voice of the narrator. The "story" didn't work for me - the question was the true meaning of Christmas, but the story to answer the question had no thread to connect the "chapters" or musical segments. Also, the theater for the performance did not have a sound system worthy of the performance or else our seats were too close...
Band had a lot of energy and I enjoyed it very much
Bought my roommate a ticket for one of her Christmas gifts. We had no idea what we were in for. Was not disappointed. I highly recommend seeing them when they come to your city.
What a great concert. The musicians, singers and of course the story teller were absolutely fantastic. Could not have been better sound and there was even real snow too. I recommend going to see this show as you will not be disappointed. Really hope to see the show come back as I not hesitate to see it again.
I wanted something a little different but still Christmassy..and it was all of that...I was surprised and elated that there was a section in the program for Jesus. There was the reindeer..Scrooge...Nutcracker..elves..Jesus. All the performers had GREAT presence...I will definitely see them again next year .Thank you so much , I truly enjoyed myself and appreciated all of you
Great seats. Best show in a long time. Couldn't ask for a better show and they even threw some snow bubbles into the audience. Just loved it.
After seeing TSO, this musically was close. There was a story, creative songs,a great band, and a light show coordinated with the music which was similar to TSO. The venue was great. Our two disappointments were that sometimes the music was too loud to hear the girls singing and we would have liked songs to sing along with. When they played "I Get By With a Little Help from my Friends" the crowd was aroused and excited and could sing along.
Thoroughly enjoyable show & perfect before Christmas! Very uplifting!
Wasn't sure what I was in for. But what an "old fashion treat". A family rock band with a Christmas theme. Look forward to seeing them again next year. The venue was terrific.Get to this venue a little early as parking can be a little tricky!
The talent is undeniable. The musicians surely know their craft. The singers were very good, some better than others. Here’s the problem... There’s a story being told, and perhaps it’s a good one. I say perhaps because most of the words were indesernable. In some cases it was acoustics. More time should’ve been taken with each singer to control the instrumentation volume or their mic volume. It would’ve perhaps been helpful to have the text of the songs scroll along behind the orchestra/band in some interesting and creative way.
Wow! A most unforgettable show. Would recommend this show to anyone who is a fan of TSO. They definitely need to return next year. I came up from Lewes Delaware just to seet the show with friends of mine. Would do it again.
