About

Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.

God it was a HOT HOT day but the music was fantastic! The staff was kind. The mood was good feeling. Everyone was just trying to stay cool while jamming to good tunes! Had a blast with my husband !

  • Good concert- friendly people; great music!

by Dylson on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 4 out of 5

The lighting and camera work were so poor that the performers were difficult to see. Except for Willie Nelson where it was a bit brighter, we had difficulty seeing them even on the screens. We had lawn seats right behind the preferred lawn so we were very close to the stage.

  • Willie Nelson Picnic 2024

by Kim on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

Had a wonderful time all the acts were phenomenal Robert and Allison were just a dream come true. I could have listened to them all night. I'm glad Willie was well enough to perform. I hope they can make it back again next year. I would be there in a heartbeat but with way better seats. The heat was kicking!!!!

Willie Nelson was fantastic! 5 star Ticketmaster/Live Nation Monopoly Not a fan 1 star

  • Early opening acts made the show

    by Jlamar49 on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 4 out of 5

Willie Nelson, even sick, did not disappoint! On stage with his son, their performance was both heartwarming and heartfelt! Aside from Nelson, the only other real bright spots were opening acts, newcomer Celisse and the legendary Mavis Staples. These two ladies knocked it out of the park and were worth the price of admission on their own. Maren Morris has some maturing to do. Left me wondering if that was why the bass guitar was so loud...to compensate for the lack of experience. I don't regret having the opportunity to see legends Robert Plant and Bob Dylan because now I can say I did. But that's about it except, Alison Krause looked like she wanted to be anywhere except on state with Plant and Bob Dylan was unintelligible with zero connection to the audience. Last words...get there early for the first couple of opening acts...then hang out at the bar until Willy comes out!

  • You gotta know when to hold um, know when to fold um.

by Life long fan. on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been going to concerts since 1968. My first show was The Carpenters at The Great Allentown Fair. This was the third time my wife and I saw Willie Nelson in the last five years. Two times before at Hershey with Van Morrrison on The Outlaw Music Tour. Willie had missed the first eight dates of this tour and he struggled to get through the one hour set on this his first night back. His breathing was labored and, at times, he couldn’t finish a verse. His son Lucas skillfully filled in when he couldn’t finish. I love Willie and his music. I feel it’s time for him to fold um and ride off into the sunset with a trail of smoke marking the way. The venue is great. We parked in Philly and rode the Riverlink Ferry across to Camden. The other acts were good too. It was well worth the price of admission.

Well for a 4th of July Picnic, the Best act was under the weather Willie! He stole the Show. You had Robert Plant take Great songs and Slow them down and stretch em out.Bob Dylan was horrible couldn't see him or hear him. There music should have been uplifting like Willies, instead it was Vedtime music. God Bless Willie Nelson!

Even with the heat, the star studded lineup made it worth every second.

  • Way too long

by Kathi on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 4 out of 5

Originally concert start time was 1:30. Then it was changed to 2:30. When we got to the venue, we were told that Willie was set to go on from 10-11PM. Not permitted to leave the venue and come back later. Waiting in the sun and heat for 8 hours was not a good option for us. Would it have been so difficult to post an estimated performance time either before purchasing tickets or at least before the event? We enjoyed Celisse and Mavis Staples.

  • Heartfelt, touching Performances

by StephCMusicLover on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

I could have something to say about every artist that took the stage. They were wonderful! Bowen Young and Celisse did not disappoint. I had not see them before. Mavis was amazing. Maren, Robert and Allison, Dylan - historic! But… Willie Nelson and family specifically: oh my!!!! The greatest of the greats!! I love Willie’s unwavering desire to perform for his audience, which always leaves me in awe. He and Lukas had me in tears with the way they played together and looked at one another. I wish Micah had been there as well. Waylon has been such a refreshing addition as well. Willie is 91 and still playing strong. I know he’s been under the weather, but that doesn’t matter in the sense that he will always have my support. I came to see him, and I left a better person. I have always been a diehard fan and will continue to do so. As long as he shows up, I will too! Love Willie Nelson! Thank you for keeping us grounded and inspiring me to never give up!

  • Excellent concert. Parking at $50 was a rippoff

by Heff on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 4 out of 5

Willie was great as always. Dylan should play to the crowd and do the songs that made him famous. Plant still can sing after all these years. Great to see legends still performing. Parking @ $50 was offensive. More than an Eagles game!

  • Wonderful show

by Remembrance on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

The show was absolutely excellent with one exception. For those of us on the lawn the reddish black lighting for Bob Dylan made seeing the performance an impossibility. His was the only act where the performer was not shown and where the performer did not introduce his backups. I assume he required these restrictions as part of his joining the show. Otherwise it was a great production.

  • Fantastic day and night of music

by tom on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

It was hot, it was humid and the music was fantastic! Mavis Staple was phenomenal Marin Morris was very good Plant/Kraus pure perfection Bob Dylan very entertaining Willie Nelson OMG amazing for 91 years old I'm 68 and have attended many concerts in my life span this one just shot up to my number 1 all time concerts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Welcome back, Willie!

by bwt on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 4 out of 5

So glad Willie invited me to the picnic. Great show from start to finish, except for Dylan, who sat in the dark and noodled for an hour. My first time seeing him and I hear that is what he does, so this may have been a good show for him. Plant and Krauss were transcendent, Mavis was invigorating and Willie got off his sick bed to bring his A-game. A National treasure to be enjoyed and not missed.

  • Great Fourth of July!

by Mike on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

My whole family (three generations) went to the show, and all, from 10 to 70 years old, absolutely loved it. Willie is a true American icon who continues to find a way to express music his way like no other.

  • Willie Nelson's performance was amazing!

by Denise Tronco on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

My husband & I had a great time! All the performers were fantastic, but we both thought Willie Nelson was the best! Even with Willie not feeling well, him and his band still performed wonderfully. We were so glad he was feeling well enough to be able to perform!!

  • ????????,camera,action

by Dirty Girl on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 3 out of 5

The event was great !!! All bands were really really good ! Dylan still has it after all these years along with Robert plant who has somehow kept his beautiful locks of hair!!! The only downside was the lightning. I was on the lawn . The stage was so dark I couldn’t see hardly anything. I also noticed this when I saw Neil Young o Mothers Day . More lights , please !!!!!

  • Willie & Crew saves evening & concert!

by The Sweated Pig on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 4 out of 5

Plant & Krauss played mostly Largo ( funeral paced music ), Dylan was non-existent sitting behind the electric piano all night. If he has a videographer, he should be fired immediately!. All everyone saw on the video screens was a picture of the stage from the Ben Franklin statue on City Hall roof. If it wasn't for Willie Nelson & his Crew of amazing musicians, the night would have been 3 wet farts. Even Willie being obviously sick was better than the first two acts. Very disappointed in the 2 openers, but NOT Willie!

  • Good way to Celebrate the 4th

by Pauline on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great time! I think one of the best ways I've celebrated the 4th in a long time. Was a more low key crowd, sitting a lot of the show. Which was nice given the heat. Would've been cool if they had shown local fireworks on the screens between sets.
