About

Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.

  • GREAT EXCELLENT CONCERT

by Lant on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Show by all 3 performers was excellent, it was a packed venue. I am so glad I got to see Willie live in concert. Bob Dylan, and John Melloncamp was also good to see

  • should never have been

by concertbob on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 2 out of 5

Willie is cool...um was cool. Now it is cool Willie is still alive. If you love Willie listen to his music from when he was in his prime. Willie is still alive but he is no longer a musician. Willie is just being used by greedy people to rake in $$ as he can no longer play music he just makes noise. It is actually pathetic. I agreed to go to this concert because my wife wanted to. I pretty much know what to expect so I played it cool and tried to enjoy the experience best I could. I marveled at the people in the front row knowing what they paid to be there. Bob Dylan is almost as bad as Willie, makes noise, not music. He was at times so out of sync with his band it was ridiculous. If you love Bob's music as I do listen to it from when he was actually able to play music not just make noise as he does now. Just because he is alive does not mean he should be out there playing live music. John Cougar rocked it and is great, old as he is, he still has it. I am glad he played first as I and every one else really enjoyed him. First time for me at Pine Knob. Nice venue. Decent seats that we way way overpaid for.

  • GREAT SHOW

by CSWB on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Mellencamp was good; Willie was GREAT; Dylan's song choices were disappointing.

  • Willie and John were great, Bob not so much

by Ethan on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Willie and John Mellencamp were amazing, Bob Dylan was very slow and didn't play any really well known songs besides one

  • Much better than expected!

by Patiodaddyo on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Having attended a number of shows featuring acts from the 1960s over the years, I know it can sometimes be "hit or miss". The Outlaw Festival show at Pine Knob on September 15, 2024 was definitely a "hit"!

  • Sorry to Miss the Show

by mags113 on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 1 out of 5

I was unable to attend this amazing sounding show. And very disappointed that that production company didn't open up Sell Your Ticket option within ticketmaster

  • Pine knob needs to update

by Big ragu on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 3 out of 5

The people that sit on the outside of the center of the lawn need TV screens to view the concerts. The screens down in the pavilion do not zoom in on the artists and only the center of the lawn seats have TV screens.

  • Outlaw Music Festival

by John H on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

It was nice to these performers still getting it done after all of these years for the sake of the fans. I’m 61 and have been listening to these very same songs since I was in high school. Very cool stuff.

  • Willie Nelson still has it at 91

by AlwaysOnMyMind on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

So disappointed with John Mellancamp but it was better than Bob Dillon. We could not understand a word and his music background was less an exciting. A good time to go to the bathroom and get something to drink. Then Willie came out!!! At 91 he really out performed the younger guys that came before him. His band was super good and his new song had me in tears. Called “The last Leaf”. We didn’t get there in time for the opening act. But my friends said she was very talented.

  • It was ok

by TJJSDJ on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 3 out of 5

I feel like it could have been more accommodating for the ADA, I'm permanently handicapped but was made to sit on the grassy hill. But the concert itself was good.....

  • Not worth the time or money.

by Mo on 9/18/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 2 out of 5

Bob Dylan was boring, didn't engage or look at his audience. Willie's just not performing at a good level anymore. My fault, as he is 93 yes old. Mellencamp was enjoyable. Strange that Mellencamp and Dylan both performed Watchtower. Performing it together would have been a treat. Also strange there was no interaction between performers.

  • Willie was GREAT!!

by YASheffield on 7/15/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 4 out of 5

The whole concert was fabulous, except Bob Dylan. Not sure WHY the lights were dimmed … could barely see him, much less hear him. A snoozer. I was looking forward to hearing him so it was disappointing. Thoroughly enjoyed Celisse, Mavis ( both rocked it), Plant/Krauss and, then, Willie and band/fam at the end.

  • Dylan should hang it up!

by EDC on 7/10/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 4 out of 5

The overall show was great, and the venue is nice. Willie was great; strong voice, and good rapport with the audience. You'd never know he had been sick. Marin Morris, Robert Plant & Alison Krause were also great. Bob Dylan, on the other hand, should call it quits! I've seen him about 20 times, and the last few times I saw him I said I wouldn't go see him again. His songs are almost un-identifiable because he refuses to play them like the original. Plus, he rarely plays songs that the audience wants to hear. And he has absolutely no rapport with the audience.

  • Willies Picnic

by Tedesez on 7/10/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 3 out of 5

I could not think of a better way to spend my 4 th of July. It was a beautiful day. Willie was awesome and his son Luke Nelson was very good! The other acts were good to see as well but I went to see the last of the Country Outlaws! Great time! Staff of the venue were nice and helpful. Good vibes and alot of smoke in the air!

  • Great time but...

by Mike on 7/9/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 4 out of 5

The Forth of July Picnic concert was great with Willie Nelson. Except for the high temp and humidity we had a good time. The Maren Morris segment had the sound cranked up too much; the sound board staff did not do a good job. The other performers had it much better. Parking fee is outrageous with $50 near the venue, $40 two blocks away, all manged by Live Nation. How much goes to cash strapped Camden? Probably very little, with most going to Live Nation so that Mike Rapino can get another outsized bonus. It really makes one think twice about going again.

  • Legends +

by Kari on 7/9/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, what a day to spend the 4th. American legends and exciting new artists. Willie and his son were so touching 💕

  • Willie was awesome

by NLOG on 7/8/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

Willie Nelson was awesome as usual. Hard to believe he's 91. Loved the show and really enjoyed listening to him and especially his son Lukas. Have seen Willie many times but this was our first time seeing the other performers and we enjoyed the entire show immensely. Great value on the music, not so much on the chair rentals which we think was excessive.

  • Amazing Show, but inadequate access to water refills

by Ibpde on 7/8/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fantastic! However, the venue needs to improve the water refill stations; only two fountains were functioning which was insufficient on such a smoldering hot day!

  • It was a great day of music

by Dancer on 7/8/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 5 out of 5

It was hot but the music took that all away a long day of groups it gave me my money's worth wish Dylan would have done more of his older stuff Plant's set was what the audience wanted everyone stood up when Willy took the stage Willy would have never of missed his picnic

  • Willie was great

by Jason on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenRating: 4 out of 5

Too hot. Seats are so close together and there are no cup holders. Not looking for A/C but more fans would’ve been great. It was 98 degrees. Making us pour our beers in a plastic cup because someone threw a beer at Taylor Swift was ridiculous. It becomes flat and doesn’t stay cold.
