Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.
Great seats, and Willie is a true singer songwriter. Absolutely a great show.
Nothing against Willie at all because he sounded great when we could hear him. We were in far side seats and the guitar etc coming from speakers way overpowered his voice. Others that sat in middle said it sounded good there. We will just have to sit in middle next event.
I wasn't aware of this concert until that morning. I got three tickets together on the third row VIP, pit. Willie was great. Sang songs one after another and sounded the same as he did 40 years ago. I could have listened to him all night. His band was awesome. Well worth every penny spent for the tickets.
Willie Nelson & band were great; however, we thought the show might be shown on a big screen. We could have used a pair of binoculars. Will know next time.
Band not very exciting. Not family as advertised! Opener not so great either.
Good, kinda expected that but very blessed to have been able to see him perform in person. Loved how the ticket prices were reasonably priced. Drink prices were outrageous and bathroom sinks were full of dirt. Seats were not designed for overweight patrons being our lady sitting next to us almost fell while sitting.
I was upset there were no monitors as I sat on the lawn.. also no lawn chairs
It was great to see Willie in concert. We saw Willie over 20 years ago and were so happy to see him again. He always puts on a great concert.
This show was fit to pay tribute to Willie nelson . And pay tribute you did . One of the best I've ever been to ..
Venue needs big screens and better sound. Seats are great
Great show! Great sound! I would love to see them again.
I think he did great for being 90. I went in with the expectation of 90 years and wasn't disappointed. Rock on Willie!
He does hits and he does his best for being in his 90s.
Fun night with lots of wonderful music. Love this venue
Willie was great. Loved the show. Bob Dylan was not good. Mumbled all of his songs and everyone around me agreed. He played way too long and a lot of people left. I almost fell asleep.
Willie blew my socks off! Best performance ever! You would never believe he was 91. His voice was like old times.
Willie and Co were great as always....BUT SOUTHERN AVENUE blew us away! What a power house of talent and fun!
John Cougar Mellancamp and Willie Nelson were pretty good, but Bob Dylan sucked. Didn't play any of his hits and he put the audience to sleep. People come to hear some of the hits, he didn't play any. He was one of the worst acts they I have ever seen. You asked and I'm telling you!!!
Great vibe! Willie gave it his all! So surprised to see him hang in there.
Started out good with John Mellencamp, a lot of enthusiasm. Enjoyed singing along with many hits. Not so good with Bob Dylan since he didn't perform any iconic hits. I assume he no longer has rights. Also didn't appreciate the static camera. Willy saved the show with his singing and strumming, with his band. Camera also became active.
