About

Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.

  • Willie Nelson at the AMP in St Augustine

by Michael C on 2/23/25The St. Augustine Amphitheatre - St AugustineRating: 5 out of 5

Willie & Lucas Nelson with their backing band did two shows at the AMP this week. They did 20 songs on Wednesday and 23 songs on Thursday. Great variety of old favorites and a few covers of other talented artists. The AMP is a great venue for music! Loved Lucas' take on Texas Flood. And, always love hearing Willie perform the songs that he both wrote and performed over the years! Willie is truly a legend--see him when you can

  • What a night!

by Mose on 2/22/25The St. Augustine Amphitheatre - St AugustineRating: 5 out of 5

The warm-up band was OK, But Willie and his band, including his son, brought the house down. Well worth the cool rainy weather.

  • Willie Nelson at the AMP

by Leslie D on 2/22/25The St. Augustine Amphitheatre - St AugustineRating: 5 out of 5

Always a pleasure to be at the St. Augustine Amphitheater (THE AMP). Willie Nelson was so good and the fact that he is still picking and singing into his 90’s is just amazing! His son Lukas sounds like a younger Willie and he is great on the guitar too! It was a cold night but just beautiful and fun!

  • On The Road With Willie 25 Times

by Jean on 2/22/25The St. Augustine Amphitheatre - St AugustineRating: 5 out of 5

Willie gives it his all and at his age it’s always a gift to be treasured. Loved that he added a few songs to the set list on Thursday in St Augustine.

  • Classic Willie & Son

    by Petty865 on 2/17/25Seminole Center Outdoors - ImmokaleeRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fabulous and having Lukas playing with his Papa Bear was icing on the cake. My only negative was getting my tix. Had to wait in 2 lines because the staff did not know where Will Call was located. Prefer to have my tickets on my phone but I guess it was a venue issue. GOD BLESS WILLIE!! He is a real American treasure🙏

Willie was great, so glad to see him. The seating was not good. Packed together way too close, need to improve the seating, otherwise great! Jake

The Willie Nelson concert was excellent! Willie’s performance was legendary, and the audience was filled with true fans. • Go see a legend

by Hutch on 11/21/24Rating: 4 out of 5

Saw Willie for the first time, twice at St. Augustine Amphitheater, 2023, 2024. Extremely impressive for a music-an his age. Of course the vocal range and guitar finger picking have waned a bit. The crowd absolutely loved him, and he loved them back. Neither opening act (Deer Tick in 2023, forget who in 2024) added anything to my experience though. St. Augustine Amp is a fantastic venue, very well run and musicians love it and the crowds. Willie must as well, he is coming back for a third straight year in 2025!
