Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.
Great, small venue. KOA within walking distance. And Willie still touring…he’s still got it.
Most wonderful evening❤️❤️my heart is full! The venue was spectacular and well….LEGEND!
This is the second time I have seen Willie in concert live. He did a fantastic show for being 91.
Willie & Lucas Nelson with their backing band did two shows at the AMP this week. They did 20 songs on Wednesday and 23 songs on Thursday. Great variety of old favorites and a few covers of other talented artists. The AMP is a great venue for music! Loved Lucas' take on Texas Flood. And, always love hearing Willie perform the songs that he both wrote and performed over the years! Willie is truly a legend--see him when you can
The warm-up band was OK, But Willie and his band, including his son, brought the house down. Well worth the cool rainy weather.
Always a pleasure to be at the St. Augustine Amphitheater (THE AMP). Willie Nelson was so good and the fact that he is still picking and singing into his 90’s is just amazing! His son Lukas sounds like a younger Willie and he is great on the guitar too! It was a cold night but just beautiful and fun!
Willie gives it his all and at his age it’s always a gift to be treasured. Loved that he added a few songs to the set list on Thursday in St Augustine.
We saw him in St Augustine and he was amazing!! So glad we braved the cold!
The show was fabulous and having Lukas playing with his Papa Bear was icing on the cake. My only negative was getting my tix. Had to wait in 2 lines because the staff did not know where Will Call was located. Prefer to have my tickets on my phone but I guess it was a venue issue. GOD BLESS WILLIE!! He is a real American treasure🙏
Willie was great, so glad to see him. The seating was not good. Packed together way too close, need to improve the seating, otherwise great! Jake
Had a great time, easy in easy out. TShirts we’re a little expensive.
I saw Willie on his 80th birthday and almost 12 years later he is still going strong.
Willie is up in age but still fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed the concert. Randall KIng was the opening performance. That was a treat!
Willie sounded just like he did when he was in his prime.
Great show and venue. Plenty of parking. Nice selection of vendors
The Willie Nelson concert was excellent! Willie’s performance was legendary, and the audience was filled with true fans. A fantastic surprise was seeing his son, Lukas Nelson, join him on stage—what a talent! We enjoyed every moment and left with hearts full of music and memories. It was truly a night to remember!
I am so glad I went to this concert! Willy still sounds amazing . The man is a legend and I was lucky enough to hear him sing live . Thanks Willy for a great show
It was so amazing to see this legend in person. The venue was wonderful. Everyone was helpful.. Next time I will definitely stay at the casino.
Saw Willie for the first time, twice at St. Augustine Amphitheater, 2023, 2024. Extremely impressive for a music-an his age. Of course the vocal range and guitar finger picking have waned a bit. The crowd absolutely loved him, and he loved them back. Neither opening act (Deer Tick in 2023, forget who in 2024) added anything to my experience though. St. Augustine Amp is a fantastic venue, very well run and musicians love it and the crowds. Willie must as well, he is coming back for a third straight year in 2025!
Amazing concert in Helotes on 10/23/24. Willie was amazing as always and Mickey and Waylon Payne ❤️❤️❤️. I saw Willie at this venue 50 years ago and it brought back wonderful memories 🥰🥰🥰 RIP Bobbie, Bee, Jody, Paul.
